I don’t think the perspective matters here. Especially in GW, in early game, when 6-8 people rush to the mid capture point, the amount of particle effects on the screen is vast. Check this screenshot taken from the livestream of the last GW2 ESL cup:
Someone who hasn’t played GW2 before won’t understand a thing of what’s happening. But the pros in the ESL league could tell all the Guardian and Elementalist AoEs apart. With practice, you can learn how to do that.
I have had a similar experience with Krieg from Borderlands 2. The first time I played with the Firehawk Shield I sincerely thought I 'd get an epilepsy. But as I continued playing I learnt how to filter the screen and use the minimap to understand what was going on.
Edit: I just realised the screenshots are from a time I was doing a quest called “Mother-Lover”. Pretty weird…
