well, this sucks to hear. it’s a shame that you never did participate in the battleborn ps4 league games with your team. in fact, I don’t think we’ve ever seen you party with your teammates even for casual pubs… if you ever do decide to come back, let us know.

our steam numbers on pc are just wow.

New players can’t get past level 2 and trial players probably won’t find a game anymore since everything is private matches or PvE again.

Peak times also seem to have shifted again.

On monday, while I was still sitting at work and something like 50 km away from my PC, I got an invite to a 10 stack and said I couldn’t play until much later. They seem to have played for 3-5 hours straight, but by the time I could play no one was there anymore.

Similar thing yesterday (without the invite), saw many friends of mine in the game when I had more important stuff to do than playing, no one here anymore when I could’ve joined.

On monday I’ve played solo PvE, yesterday I’ve went to bed instead. At half past nine pm. Too frustrated to do anything on that evening.

I know my friends don’t do that to hurt me and I’m happy that at least some people still can get into a game, but always being late to the party is just depressing as hell for me and a reason why I’m a little angry that nothing has happened to avoid that the game gets into this state again.

The major point of contention, at least that I’ve noticed, is that most posts of that ilk boil down to “lol y r u still playin this ded gaem lmfao overwatch iz beter kek”.

So while at face value it’s a simple, dissenting opinion, the tone is often dismissive and smacks of the poster deliberately trying to spread anger and discord. Hence the pushback.

I just saw this video, it’s not battleborn it’s fortnite. But gearbox are the publisher of it and I HEARD SOME OF THE SAME EXACT THINGS SAID ABOUT BATTLEBORN BY GEARBOX

The more I’m hearing the more leery I am.

My honest thought of the future of battleborn, especially with the trend that’s becoming clear: it’s sinking, the only question is “do you jump early or ride it all the way down”

Multiple issues that seem “grimy” in the words of the gentleman in the video

Specific points(this is just from memory so this is by no means all of them)

packaging in NO way specifies it is in early access still

The progression is PURELY rng, nothing you can’t “pursue” upgrades you want really and to make this worse, equipment degrades over time to act as a resource sink(see review link for my source, if it turns out it’s incorrect I apologize)

The one that jumped out to me was when the guy in the video bought the most expensive available founders pack to show support because he actually likes the game idea and wanted to show support, it instantly showed another more expensive option as being available to buy, almost like a “whale hunt” shortly

And the main reason I’m talking about fortnite so much is it’s another game with gearboxes name attached, so if gearbox does poorly this means battleborn’s future becomes more tenuous than it already is

Jisus the game looks fun but get a lootpack every 3 days with a huge pool and your progres being limited by gear and gear being limited by 1 every 3 days with a massive pool of gear and whaaat?

Ppl complained about cosmetics but this is like the worst kind of micro transactions!! Progress based on pay as the person from the vid said that what u pay with money is the same as 6 months of gaming.

Yes it takes like 2 months to buy a taunt or a simple pack but god your progress is not limited by how many plats u can get every week.

I’m sure the experience is subjective, but his experience as well as a quick tour of their forums doesn’t point a good picture. And makes me worry because gearbox doesn’t need more blemishes on their record

Is a good game but seriously is the worst implementation of pay to win i have seen!!

I prefer if they put super long quests to get 1 item or u can pay to have a chance of getting it but here is just pay or spend 6 months to try to get a uncommun pice of shhh.

Ehh… no argument there. It happened to me too. What’s makes it all the more bizarre is that the “Ultimate Edition” (as its called) only shows up in the game itself. Like, I literally have the game’s site in another tab as I’m typing this, and the Ultimate Edition is nowhere to be found. It’s weird.

Also, Gearbox? Where did you find that Gearbox was a part of Fortnite? I can’t find it anywhere.
