Lol so Reddit gets an official answer from the man himself, but no word on the official forums. Nice :ok_hand:

Damn, I totally forgot about that. The answer is yes, I did the same thing when Alani got released.

So Friday night I got zilch. Yesterday it was raining legendaries. RNG is a fickle monster

Thanks for sharing. :innocent:

Hope they do manage to work out the kinks, and decide to extend it.

Ya almost nailed it! Change the word “drop” to “leave” and you’ll have perfection :smile_cat:

[Full Disclosure]
You are AWESOME and I like what you do around here. You are like this positive little bee that drops in on these negative threads and pollinates them w/ some positivity. Thanks!

^^ Seconding this. There’s a lot of negativity on forums (not unique to this one), so being a ray of positivity is often a thankless job. So - Many thanks!

Hey guys,

Just posted in another thread, but I’ll drop in here as well. It does seem like things aren’t working exactly like we’d planned and we’ve been investigating over the weekend (thus the silence). The general plan as it stands now is to figure out what’s up, adjust it appropriately, and possibly even extend the event.

It does look like many people are having some luck, so we’re keeping that in mind. Still, it’s never our hope or expectation with these community events that the reception be in any way lackluster, so we’ll do our best to make sure everyone has the best time possible.

I’ll continue to give you guys any necessary updates here. Thanks!

I’d like to add an update to my experience. It appears it was just Friday that I was getting nothing. Both Saturday and Sunday (today) have been gold mines. I’d be curious to know if anyone else had a similar experience of it just being bad luck on Friday.

Still sucks I bought and opened all my loot packs on Friday, but yesterday and today have been fantastic

I reckon that because everyone got 2 weeks with the hotfix drop rate, we were totally spoilt rotten making our expectations much higher. The Lootpocalypse drop rate is definitely higher than what it was before the hotfix but it doesn’t feel like an increase to what it was recently.

It was actually more of a Lootpackolypse thanks to the discounted Loot Packs so I’m not complaining

Alas we got bad results throughout, to the point we are just letting it pass and hoping for a fix or more info. Don’t want to do every missions agaaain multiple times if the incentive to do them isn’t there, and end up frustrated and never wanting to PvE again…
We even got two missions yielding only greens and whites, a few legendaries here and there but nothing to write home about, and even 3-boss missions with only a couple blues at best. I think we got… Maybe 3 legendaries out of a full 8-missions play ? Which is in line with the new standard droprate but we expected more from the event

Yes, I’ve been getting a lot of drops during the Lootpocaypse. It makes me wonder if the Lootpocalypse is bugged for some and not others. The hotfix for Thorn has applied properly for me but others are reporting different. So now I am wondering if there is something going on with the hotfix system itself. It could all just come down to RNG and good/bad luck but I am not going to discount that something may be wrong and needs looking into and I think the developers agree. I am hoping that if something is broken that the event is lengthened so that people get to participate in the event as it was intended.

Interesting. I just got three in a single run so for me I think it’s working

While it was uncommon, that wouldn’t defy expectation for me post-buff pre-Lootpocalypse though, which is why I’m thinking that it didn’t actually change anything. Personally, I get the feeling that it didn’t do anything to the drop rate. I’m not entirely sure about it, but I actually think that a lot of the people talking about incredibly loot luck are people that either didn’t do much PvE before the event or hadn’t played much since the legendary drop buff.

My friend and I, who played copious amounts of PvE after the loot buff, have all agreed that there’s been pretty much no noticeable difference in the legendary drop rate. At best, the chance of getting the “rare” legendaries is better now than it used to be (before the event, there was, at least for all of us, a huge bais for 1 legendary from each boss rather than an exceptional chance for any legendary).

Today was not my lucky day. I did 13 normal missions, and only got 3 legendaries. Ones I already had, to boot. Even the loot packs have been stingy today, with only 2 taunts and 2 skins.

I’m sad because this was the one day I was able to get some friends off of Destiny to play with me ;_;

Yesterday was much better, with 6 legendaries over ~13 missions, though the loot packs weren’t too good. Maybe next time, yeah?

I played today and my load outs now say 7/14 instead of 7/9. So they increased the cap but didn’t give out an free ones from what I could tell.

There’s still about11 hours left on the event and different missions such as ones with more loot bosses are better to farm. Also epic packs have the increased chance to get legs too. I feel your pain tho. I only got like 6 legs from This entire weekend bc of how busy I am.

What i was expecting about the event when they said that Major enemies have a chance to drop Epic and Legendary, Was to have a chance to get those legendary we can’t farm easily ===> those from packs

That happened to me too, literally the first mission I did after they raised the drop rates. Saboteur, one leg per boss.
Exceptionnal occurence indeed, but for some reasons Saboteur always yield me at least one leg… Ironically it didn’t this week end.
