Yea I guess I can understand that but pugs wouldn’t have to be so afraid of premades if they just used the mic (if possible, my 4 American pug team just smashed a 5 pug team made up of a Puerto Rican, two Japanese and two Germans so I assume communication may be challenging in that situation).

It’s a team game that relies heavily on coordination. People have to get over their fear of talking to strangers. It just gets a bit frustrating, especially when I’m on the mic and people want to send messages after the fact about what we should have done.

Get out there and make some nerdy basement dwelling friends.

What is worse than people not using there mics are people who just critisize other people with them, there is also the fact that using a mic makes people with internet like me lag most of the time

Just putting my thoughts here, but I used to look forward to these weekly battleplans. However with all these recent unnecessary and uncalled for buffs, specifically the ones made to Benedict and Kleese, while other unbalanced characters like Thorn remains untouched, is really making me stay away from the game. Of course I’m just one person, but I really think Gearbox needs to pay attention to the community, the actual people putting in hours and hours of gametime before balancing these characters, and not just rely on numbers and data alone.

To be fair, Thorn did receive a nerf to her blight, Kleese’s buff was actually them fixing a bug, and most players were not doing well with Benedict before the buff.

That being said, Thorn is still incredibly strong, Kleese should have immediately had his health reduced to about 1200, and Benedict was already strong in the hands of the top 10% players (he is an advanced character after all).

They may be waiting to gather more data, so they don’t overnerf these characters to pre-buff Ambra levels.

Ranged vs ranged between two actually good players will result in evasive maneuvers and missed shots, you cant do that when youre slowed. As a Mellka/Caldarius main, slow is death. No matter who you play as, if youre slowed and Im not, you wont be dealing nearly as much damage to me as I will to you

That’s true for most ranged characters (still not Montana or ISIC), yeah.

But my point was that ranged vs ranged, even if slowed, has opportunities for counterplay.

Its a whole different story with melee. This change is huge. If I as a melee character slow another melee character now…so what? As long as they can still turn to keep up with me, my slow is now doing effectively nothing to them, because they are right where they wanted to be: in melee range.

For ranged slowing melee, this changes nothing. For melee slowing range this mean ranged characters can still do good amounts on DPS while being attacked.

As a melee main, this change is driving melee characters even further down, and they were already way behind.

Thats not true, melee slowing ranged is hugely important and still a death sentence if done correctly and ranged slowing melee has now been nerfed because we dont have the luxury of walking into your swords because of the lowered DPS youd suffer- Youre still probably screwed but thats unchanged from before. Youre zoning effectively is buffed, regardless of your movement speed loss. Yes, melee slowing melee is now seemingly pointless and I totally agree on that but it still has disengage uses or general chase use or even teamfight use. Im seeing your points but I dont believe its as bad as you make it out to be, if anything slows are only a tad more niche than before and you need to use them in different ways instead of head-on engagements and if you use it as an engagement, it needs to be a blind-side, not a direct advancement

lol this is probably due to pendles slow injection attack slowing everyone from behind at point blank

Well, I agree that its not HUGE for all melee characters - its definitely overall a nerf that they didn’t need, but most melee characters weren’t one hundred percent reliant on their slow.

But for Phoebe, this is huge. Phoebe was completely reliant on her slow, particularly in those melee vs melee situations, but it still has an impact in trying to gank even ranged characters.

This was a huge nerf to her (and poor Kelvin, but I’m…reasonably sure they’ve already got buffs in the works for him). I would now call her unequivocally the worst assassin, and at best a mid-tier brawler.

I disagree to some degree. Yes, now other melee characters have a slightly higher degree of survivability against her, but not much. I was playing Attikus last night, and everytime the enemy Phoebe got into melee range of me, she usually ended the more superior opponent. She slowed me down to a crawl, and if her giant AoE didn’t kill me, her stabs to my skull usually did. My usual tactic for killing her would be to slow her then proceed to pound her face in, but since the removal of attack speed debuff, she still gave me a run for my money. Yes, it was a slight debuff for her, but it was also a HUGE buff for her as well. Now if an melee BB slows her, she can still give as much as she gets.

I think we can all agree that Phoebe is going to be attempting to slow others waaaaay more often than melee characters are going to be slowing her. I mean…she’s going for the slow every engagement, with any character.

Attikus also has more tools to fight Phoebe with than Phoebe does him. They both have an initiate (Pounce, Phasegate) but Attikus can have stacks for more damage, lifesteal, arc.
Heck, for an engagement vs Phoebe if you had gone for the 8 second lifesteal instead of the slow you probably would have outlasted her every time anyway. Thing is, you had that option, Phoebe really doesnt (whats Phoebes other helix option…shield recharge? which isnt helping in a duel).
