Battleplan #6: 6/16/16

I’ve mentioned this many times. Read my posts because I won’t repeat myself if you don’t like hearing the percentage comparison.

I’ve always stated that bb is a team based game. I even mentioned way earlier that it boils down to how good your team is and your opponents.

Never once said I wanted super powerful gear. I can’t take your rebuttals seriously if you’re misreading or putting words in my mouth constantly in an effort to prove I’m wrong.

On your example I will say that is under the impression you will hit every target. The minions move and unless you’ve got them bottlenecked then it would be luck to hit them all every time and every situation.

As mentioned before, if they had lowered it to 10% then it would be reasonable.

I don’t know why I have to keep repeating myself…

You have though, even if you don’t say it explicitly.

You have said that you think they should feel “Legendary,” and feel that they don’t, even though they give a third stat or ability for a single item slot, that most of the time you can only get through Helix upgrades, and the cost of obtaining that third ability is comparable to cost of obtaining a second stat going from Common to Epic.

And the value at which something is nerfed shouldn’t matter. All it means is that they really messed up with it’s initial values.

As you said earlier, they have nerfed and then rebuffed items they feel they over nerfed. If they feel that is the case again, then in time it will be rebuffed.

But again, you ignore the substance my rebuttal, which was characters that aren’t meant to heal, shouldn’t be able to heal themselves for absurdly high values.

And even if some players can’t hit all the targets of a minion wave, other can, and they need to balance things around their optimal potential, otherwise the better players will still abuse them.

Leechsteel would still feel Legendary if it was reduced to 10% instead.

If characters without healing abilities weren’t meant to have healing gear then they’d block it for those characters… That’s my rebuttal.

If Benedict was created with slow attack speed in mind then he should not have gear that increases it.

Any character without a built in ability or helix choice should not have access to any unintended buffs is basically what you’re saying.

You say absurdly high amounts as if it’s not possible they’ve been nerfed to absurdly low amounts. It goes both ways.

And yes I understand that if they feel these have been over nerfed then they will change it. They’ve done it before as we’ve mentioned.

As of now we’re just beating a dead horse.

Or if they didn’t want people self healing for so much that aren’t healers, they’d nerf the item, as they did.

Your statements are just hyperbolic, as there is a huge difference between increasing attack speed on a character with a slow attack speed and being able to give a character that isn’t meant to heal, self heals equivalent to Alani’s burst, self heals, the character with the best self sustain in the game.

But you are right, we are just beating a dead horse now apparently.

We’ll see what the future holds for Legendary item balance.

Leechsteel was equivalent to Alani’s burst heal???

Okay you lost me. You’re the one exaggerating and I can’t take this anymore lol.

Yes we will see what happens with all of BB.

Yeah, a 420 heal is equivalent to the value Alani heals herself for with Wellpring with full osmosis stacks.

  1. the amount depends on her osmosis.

  2. her lowest burst heal is like 60 and she can do it continually.

  3. max stats on pre nerf leechsteel was 16%. That’s 160 hp on a 1000 skill damage amount. Which is high. You have to wait for your cooldowns. You have to hit multiple enemies for max efficiency.

Uuummmm where’s the equivalence??

Her wellspring with lifesteal has no connection. It’s not skill damage

For 420 burst hp from leechsteel at 16% means you would have to do well over 2000 damage…

Great microtransactions, just what i wanted and considering the skins and taunts were already in the game makes it even more insulting.

I enjoyed the game for being able to unlock new things like skins and taunts but adding microtransaction later after release? Nice…gotta love that sneaky style, fee2play fun times!

1000 isn’t a high value for wave clear characters.

Oscar Mike can do up to 1000 to every target hit by Frag Grenade with the Napalm AoE damage.

Orendi can do 500 per target hit by Shadow Pillar.

A wave can have between 5-8 targets with an MK Bot and Thrall, not counting any enemy battlborn.

So that’s anywhere between 2500-8000 damage.

At 14% that’s anywhere between 350-1120 heals. Alani at max Osmosis stacks heals herself for around 400, which is either almost on par or almost three times more.

At 5.6% that’s anywhere between 140-440 heals.

You are talking highly improbable circumstances.

Shadow fire pillar has a small effect area.

Oscar Mike’s frag grenades have a decent effect area but again it’s unlikely you will hit enough targets to receive 420 hp burst heal from pre leechsteel.

It can happen but minions move and your team shouldn’t be gathered together so you shouldn’t hit more than 2 players.

It’s funny how I am at max rank right now and haven’t seen a cheater in at least 2 weeks. It’s almost as if they get caught and banned early on.

I agree with the total health nerf being a bit high. She is supposed to be a weird warrior/support character. IMO, she only really needed a decent damage nerf to bring her in line with the description of her character (with maybe a small health nerf). Even now she is great at lane control and can still be quite lethal, she just has to be played as a support now, rather than a main DPS.

ALANI SHOULD NEVER HAVE BEEN ABLE TO LEAD KILLS, MINION KILLS, AND ASSISTS WITH 0-2 DEATHS (as I have seen many, many times).

Just wanted to say good job with the alani ignore the hate people get upset when you nerf their main.

When pendles comes out dont make him op I would rather him be a little underpowered then over. Means I can play him more as everyone wont pick him  That and people wont try and say a powerhouse character is perfectly balenced you just need to get good yet ironically they are probably the ones doing bad now while everyone else is having fun.

I don’t think I’ve ever heard this explained more clearly. I’m deeply, deeply happy right now. Thank you.

I can tell you with medium levels of certainty that you are mostly correct, assuming GBX runs like a lot of other places that do similar things.

I hadn’t even run the numbers on this, for a wave clear character (e.g. Thorn/OM) that’s an almost unlimited amount of sustain. I just throw down a blight field with enduring/brutal blight and I’m fully healed.

That’s sort of crazy.

Some characters have life steal already in their helix. Adding that leech steal the way it was would break them. Those legendaries aren’t created to replace/give you anything but to compliment what your character can do. Depending on your character that legendary can still be cool but for some others unfortunately now it’s bad. Like what others said too, if you had an item that can heal so really well… It would be pointless to have a support & supply station

I’d have to look at Rath or Orendi to give exact numbers.

Also we have to consider what is more likely. What happens more often. Probably something that i hope Gearbox considers is the majority data rather than a minority situation for their analysis.

Are you likely to hit 5 minions every single time? Are you likely to hit more than 2 players with an aoe? If you do then the opposing team is all in one spot and they’re playing incorrectly so it’s not the gears fault but rather their own mistake.

You can’t base a proper outcome on what rarely happens.

Oh and the supply stations aren’t very useful. Good when you’re fighting up there but otherwise it’s faster to teleport back to base.
