That’s because the Meteor Shower doesn’t have a Longbow variant. Lobbed only.

Well there you go…that would explain ti.

But I know it has Homing because I’m sure I had that version.

At least I think I’m sure…been a while

Edit: I don’t know if the game limits what is offered…but the Wiki says it can come in all forms…Longbow…Lobbed…Homing, Sticky…etc

Seriously? I’m pretty sure that it’s lobbed only, which was its main drawback because it meant you almost always took some damage from it. Maybe I’m wrong. But either way, longbow delivery is definitely the best regardless of the grenade itself.

I just checked the Seraph vendor - two Homing variants.

edit - here’s a longbow; safety first!

Hmmm. Odd.

I pulled out “the software that should not be named”…LOL just to see what it says.

Says all variants possible.

Buuuut…sometimes…and it happens rarely, the game has overrides.

But I don’t think that is the case in this instance. I kinda remember the MS being offered in the Vendor in all flavors.

But again, it has been a while.

EDIT: Ninjah’d…LOL Ab just answered.

I stand corrected. In that case, yeah, a Longbow Meteor Shower would probably be the better choice.

Looks like I finally have something to spend all those seraph crystals on… (and yes- I’m aware that I shouldn’t end my sentence with ‘on’ but a better choice wasn’t available …)

All I ever carry with him are my slag transfusions, Chain Lightning, Storm Fronts, and my slag singularity for Hyperius. 90% of the time I just use Chain Lightning and the transfusions though.

Because you are primarily melee…correctt? Or the chain lightning can be useful in the long range role?

I was under the impression that its a great quick heal/shield stripper for Zer0. But i dont think its much of a Killer.

I mean use a Meteor Shower a few times and you can clearly see its killing power. In fact, you have to use with distance in mind or it will kill you.

But I am probably wrong on this.

I run everything…but even when sniping or gunplay, I still just throw CL’s and slag ■■■■■■■■. lol

CL’s are actually pretty powerful in their own right, but nah, I wouldn’t call them a killer like that. They’re just so useful and good at zapping enemy shields, I had to mention them. Slag em, zap em, and they’re pretty much ready for a OHKO after that. lol

Edit: plus they regenerate your supply.

I use slag transfusion if I go sniper COM. For pretty much anything else Chain lightning is my main grenade. It’s good healing with Moxxi weapons, takes down shields pretty good and gives me a tool to strip my shield if I go with a maylay shield. Singularities (slag or Quasar) are also good and fun but I don’t tend to run them in my active builds.

The only other option is lobbed. If one were to equip a bouncing or homing Meteor Shower they may as well jump off a cliff whenever the opportunity presents itself with how suicidal it is using those two forms of delivery with such a powerful grenade.

Even with lobbed the user should aim high and be ready to run in the opposite direction.

I use homing all the time, I rarely have a problem with it.

Homing is not bad if you are running away or you have the time. It just takes a while for the Grenade to home in. And it can be a bit random sometimes and sometimes picks enemies who are not the primary threat.

Longbow is like long range artillery fire…especially with a Meteor Shower.

Put it on Axton…with an Explosive Damage Relic and a Grenadier Com…and all his Grenade Damage Bonuses specced.

And it’s like “Big Bertha” long range artillery.

Have had way too many scenarios in my gaming career where I watched a grenade bounce uselessly on static obstacles before detonating. The only time I tolerate homing is with Magic Missiles and have had quite a few interesting situations with that grenade.

I avoid homing like a plague these days. I never pick rubberized anything either but honestly I’d rather use a rubberized grenade than a homing one. Nothing quite like having the grenade circle around an enemy endlessly or keep bouncing off of terrain when you would need for it to go off right about then and there.

Rubberized is a joke as there are quite a few enemies that will dodge the grenade’s trajectory. They either have to be incapacitated by some means of crowd control such as another person’s grenade, Maya’s Phaselock, another target altogether, or are in such a cramped area they cannot dodge to begin with. That is not counting enemies hiding behind cover which grenades generally excel at getting at or enemies that have an elevation advantage over you.

The only way to guarantee a rubberized grenade impact is to be on top of the target as you throw the grenade at them.

Rubberized just have more cons than pros to make them worth considering beyond being a stop-gap grenade, and even then it maybe better to use the weaker grenade if it has a different form of delivery.

I know that. I was just trying to hammer in my point of seriously disliking the way homing delivery works. I never use either.

shrug to each their own. I love throwing from cover, I love throwing from around corners. Watching it hunt down a target…
