Tried to look at some Melee builds, but they all seem to have been over on the old forums, which are now gone. I’m currently using a health relic, but am not sure if a Melee relic would be better. Advice?

Really though, your shield will be down most of the time, so more health = more betterer. Krieg has a special melee modifier that outdoes melee relics, so they would be unnecessary. In some situations (Bloodsplosion shenanigans or ranged combat with Torgue arms) an explosive relic can be useful, but a health relic is always helpful.
A Blood of the Ancients that increases AR ammo would be nice, given how much ammo the Shocket Launcher chews through. Also grenade ammo, because
Seriously though, Krieg loves explosions almost as much as Torgue and really likes Fastballs. So demz good stuffs.
I assume you know the reason a health relic is a Good Thing. But in case you don’t : it simply makes RtB timing easier.
An alternative is explosive relic if you also have bloodsplosion and sheriff badge for faster axe chucking.
I use an explosive relic with Krieg, but he’s chucking Fastballs at poor SOBs who’ve been painted purple by his Slagga until it’s RtB time.
as melee Krieg involves going down, even with Redeem the Soul, I like a Heart of the Ancients (FFYL time and weapon damage for a class) with the weapon class I’m using for damage, like Shotguns…the weapon damage isn’t that relevant but I like having the longer FFYL time, an explosive relic is probably the best choice for overall damage

Heart of the Ancients with AR damage, Bloody Revival, Redeem the Soul, and the Shocket Rocket.
That’s more or less how I play Krieg.
