Having spent the weekend playing the Beta I wanted to put my preliminary feedback for you to see and hopefully take on board or at least something for you to think about.
First off it’s great fun, the art direction is awesome, the writing is brilliant, the diversity of characters is nice and each one feels unique enough that it doesn’t get boring to try out different characters.
But the things I think need work are as follows:

Player feedback when taking damage. Too many times I’ve been in a 1 on 1 with someone to then notice that my health is suddenly on 5% because there was a 2nd enemy shooting me from a flank and didn’t notice I was taking damage. With the copious amounts of stuff going on and trying to track your enemy when they’re bouncing around like tigger the HP bar is very easily forgotten about and overlooked. Maybe some kind of haptic feedback when taking damage, or some audio cue that your shield has broken like you had in Borderlands 2.

Team mate character model collision. The models could do with having collision turned off for team mates (I’m thinking mainly in PvE here) especially if you’re going to have overly large models like Montana. We did Episode 1 last night and got stuck in the room by the first shard cluster because our Montana went AFK for 10 minutes while standing in the doorway and nobody could get past the mountain. They also shouldn’t have collision with our attacks, I couldn’t shoot the boss because Montana was in his face shooting him and I was unable to shoot through him.

PvE needs to be tweaked for Melee characters. Episode 1 in particular is a nightmare for melee characters, especially the last boss. I was constantly getting stuck inside of his legs and getting flung across the room or unable to attack the canister because it was slightly too high and he was moving constantly and so erratically. I straight up don’t want to do PvE as a melee player since trying it just once.

Collecting loot from chests shouldn’t need a button press. It’s really quite tedius spamming Square to pick up all the items from a chest in PvE, especially when that’s the only scenario where you have to press anything to pick stuff up. Not to mention the top item in the chest is really awkward to collect cause the targeting for it is a lot higher than it looks.

Some kind of tutorial would be appreciated. As many people have said, I only just discovered today that you can teleport back to base. I also don’t exactly understand how the ‘scoring’ works on the post-match screen.
That’s all I can think of right now, I’m sure I had a couple more ideas last night but I can’t for the life of me remember them now. I’ll add more if I can think of any.

I totaly agree with the character collision, it can be realy annoying.
And yeah melee can be somewhat hard against bosses. At isic you get flung around the place aswell if your not carefull and it takes a long time to run back:)
About the chests, just shoot them open (works on all chests) and hold square close to them. You auto pickup everything;)

@M Puddephatt : Totally aggred. Team collision is also a pain in pvp got killed many times because of bulky team mate and ally minions.
Would also like to add please do something about Ambra… I really like this character but stopped playing her cause she’s really unbalanced right now. She’s supposed to be a supporter not a dmg dealer. I’ve been doing K/D 16.0 with her.

She’s the only battleborn who requires literally no skill to hit with her primary melee her a really cheap battleborn.

For a supporter she’s like super tanky. I’ve seen 3 v 1 (and been in a 3 v 1 situation with her) against her and she litteraly won the fight.

Flame shield granting overshield paired with the 40% movement speed buff mean she’s off without even a slight chance to chase her.
My only other rant is the feature you added this week-end. Voting for your game type is annoying. I’m not enjoying Meltdown cause mostly everybody in there is playing like Call of Duty style mostly hunting other heroes.
But despise that the beta convinced me to get deluxe edition

I have been shooting them open, but wasn’t aware that holding square will pick up everything. Do you have to look at each item whilst having square held? Cause that still is the annoyance, but if not and it just loots everything nearby then that would be a decent way of handling it. I’ll try it when I’m next online.

I purposefully ignored anything to do with balancing because that isn’t really what the point of the beta is. Yes it’s helpfuly for them to know, but they’d find that out from the copious amounts of data they’ll be recording of every match. They’ll see that Ambra has crazy stats at the end of every match and will do something about it when the time is right.
Right now they’re more focused on getting rid of all the kinks in the game code and making sure everything works as intended or as best as I can, and delivers the best experience possibly with the fewest problems.

100% agree on melee in PvE, it is too difficult right now.
You can hold square to collect loot from chests but it is still a bit odd and just breaks the flow of the game IMO. I wish all chests were like the ones you break open and then just run over the pickups. Not a huge deal either way.
Personally I think the story missions run a bit long as well.
I cant even start the beta it is out on xbox one in uk, my friends are on it, but everytime I tyr to start is it says the starting soon message.
