BL1 - hardcore playthrough?

Dead. I was happily sniping some chumps in Circle of Duty and got myself one-shot by a Lancer. Just about got a second wind from a Lance Royal Guard…but didn’t quite make it. I haven’t deleted the character - again, I think I’ll keep her. I may give Craw a try for funsies. I had some cool stuff, and more importantly I’m going to cross my fingers and hope for a patch with a playthrough reset function.

Doing one whole playthrough at level 69 would be both much more difficult and a much smaller time investment than doing it this way, where the first two playthroughs are a cakewalk and only the DLC pose a challenge.

I’m kinda tired of this. I just borrowed Breath of the Wild, so…

Oh man.

Thought you being Lilith would up the chances of closing it out. So close.

Maybe taking a break and coming back to it at a future point would be a good idea. Enjoy Breath of the Wild.

Excellent run though. Congrats.

Well, ghost Lilly finished her conquest of Pandora.

I cleared Circle of Duty easily. All you have to do is keep moving and the Lancers will never hit you…I was just feeling smug and standing still yesterday, and didn’t notice it spawn.

On to Craw! Screenshot shows my shock weapon of choice. It worked well. I think the last time I fought Craw was during my repeaters-only Mordecai…in May 2015.

Given how long it’s been, I’m pretty happy with this! Lilith makes it easy…and her kill comment is appropriate.

Moral of the story is: ■■■■ Lancers.

It’s been one hell of a ride following your attempts, especially this last one.

There is no doubt your tactics improved greatly over time. It is hard to hone tactics for the very tail end because it is not like you will get there easily!

I wonder if there’s a way to make all enemies overleveled by any specific amount you want? If there’s a 4 player difficulty slider then it should also be possible imo

Here we go again! Got through Nine-Toes, another double Lady Finger and a sweet sniper for those pesky badass skags…

That Sniper is hilariously overpowered for that part of the game. The purples from boss enemies provide a unique feel to the Remaster.

It does add some welcome thrill, I think. As you know, the challenge is almost never due to lousy guns, but sloppy playing!

You are right about that!

Since i’m “working from home” I actually made a little progress on this! I got an HX Double Gasher from the red chest near Lucky’s…not my usual preference for the pivotal Mad Mel fight, but it worked REALLY well.

In my experiments to try and get the 4-player mod working on the remaster, I deleted my character. That’s OK. I was really getting bored, wanted to do 4-player.

So I started a new Lilly on the non-remastered Borderlands. Found this, couldn’t afford it, then spent 18 minutes sprinting through the entire badlands and accessible parts of Skag Gully scrounging for cash. Got it! Barely!

This (4-player mode) is exactly the challenge I hoped it would be. At level 13, level 10 BA skags are a challenge, and a pile of level 10 or 11 normal skags can beat you down quickly. I’ve had to grind a couple levels and some gear in order to not get flattened by the Alpha and elemental skags at the entrance to Arid Hills. Normal bandits are a chore to take down, and badasses are challenging my abilities to hide, time reloads, and time attacks during their reloads…

@bryanswpaulsen @RavenOfArisia I highly recommend trying this.

One shot to represent my game today…running from a pack of normal skags 1-2 levels below me.

Ack, I play on consoles so cannot make 4-player happen.
Does sound interesting and a god challenge.
Now, I did just install Windows in a Bootcamp partition on my MacBook Pro, so I could go flip over there and pick up BL1 in Steam (never did before cuz they didn’t have a Steam mac port) and see if I can do the thing there.

If, and only if, I’m not just too lazy…

I am a console player (PS3, only played the Remaster as co-op on my buddy’s PS4), so there will be no 4-player difficulty for me. Admittedly, I am not sure how much it interests me (just as a no-death BL2 run only interests me to level cap, not the OP levels). It does sound like the kind of thing that would put a cherry on the top of a no-death run sundae. Anyone that accomplishes it could truly claim to be a Borderlands master.

I look forward to following your run!

Didn’t realize both of you were console players. Bummer, it’s fun! I’ve gone down 5 or 6 times so far, and on a 1-player run I would expect to get at least to the end of PT1 and maybe PT2 before being downed at all.

Wish it wasn’t level 4 but it’s a step up

Midget shotgunner took me down with this one.

Taking down the Roid Rage Psycho was an exercise in patience and precision. I used a fire thumper…yeah my loadout is pretty lousy.

You poor thing! What was it, one of the wonderful 2.6 fire rate ones  ?
–RoA

I think it was 2.8. So there!

As always I did a little chest farming after clearing the safehouse. Got this pretty great gun…but I still can’t take down an on-level Moe and Marley. I’m out of ammo when they’re about half dead. I need a corrosive gun for Moe…

Played for 20min or so yesterday, and managed to take out Moe and Marley. Being stingy w/ Ammo and attempting to let the tech pool recharge before firing did the trick (along with some help from the local bandits…), though I still was out of ammo by the end.

Yeah I’ll take this, thanks very much

And this, for Marley and her always-open mouth…

Done. On to the Lost Cave (should be much easier than this!)
