BL2 and BL:TPS Legendary Drop Rate Increases! (4/9 - 5/13)

You read my mind … That would be sooo much better.
Having LEGENDARY loot midgets dropping white and green items is just farcical.
Also, removing the level banding (- 2 levels) after lvl50 would be a good thing.

It’s still a great fun game and much better than most out there even after 3 years,
It just has some strange quirks that maybe sounded good in the board room but not to actually play.

After I get the heads I need from the bunker I’ll get the hot fix and collect some data of my own as well

If you guys read what jeffy said

“e’ll be testing out a different percentage increase to the drop rate” so the way I take it it should increase slight or alot

I see patterns in the behaviour of the game which have
not been there before.

I am looking for indicators for such patterns in the posts.
I did this last week and went well. I am doing it this week
to.

Of course i can not tell exaclty what they are doing, we
just have not enough samples and of course there is a
chance that we both had some strange luck, like you
trowing 5 times a 3 with your dice and me throwing
5 times a 4.

This can be seldom luck of course, but it can also give
us some clues about what they are doing.

I have done well in reading posts about success here,
success that fits to the pattern i think i can see clearly.

For example i got alarmed by someone having good
luck with hornet on Knuckledraggers last week and
i could be able to reproduce it here.

I was already on when the hot fixes rolled out. You have to go all of the way out to the title screen to download them. Or at least that’s what I’ve been told

Legendaries should never be common, at any point in the game. I’d be in favor of maybe decreasing the drop rates for white items on higher levels, but legendaries should remain rare. If almost every drop was legendary they wouldn’t be exactly legendaries anymore, would they? They should increase the drop rates a little bit, but certainly not by that margin.

Now this is something I’d support.

The problem is you’re flat out ignoring the posts that contradict the patterns you’re seeing and disprove your theory. You’ll start seeing patterns on anything that is randomly generated if you keep repeating it over and over again. That still doesn’t mean it’s true. These “patterns” you’re seeing are coming from a generally increased drop rate. That’s all. Nothing more, nothing less. I’ve also been doing my own farming and comparing it with reports from other players around here, and I actually haven’t seen anything that proves what you’re suggesting. As a matter of fact, I’ve seen a lot to disprove it.

I disagree about legendary being rare all the time I think it’s fair if we have a 45% rate finding a legendary or petal after 15-20 runs or make it to where we can increase our own drop rates by loot sing certain parts of our abilities or gameplay

Well I take my time on the game my characters are all legit not Hobbes like a bunch of other losers out there and I love this game but I do and wanna see the drop rates at a good happy medium where I don’t have to spend 1-4hours getting a gun or shield or class mid or grenade mod!!

I understand we can’t have a legendary like a common but I would like a chance to get a legendary before I played and beat the game 76yimes for a few legendaries!!

Anther thing is that we should be able to have a good drop rate in the game it’s a CO-OP GAME NOT COMPETITIVE SO WHY NERF AND MAKE THINGS DIFFICULT

Current droprates are horrible. Got on to BL2 take advantage of the droprates, was having fun in BL:TPS farming the sentinel and such. Been farming savage lee for quite a while now without a single harold drop. Was sad to see the droprates changed right when I switched games. :frowning:

Are they horrible meaning back to default?

I am not ignoring them, i am in fact using them to TRY get even better predictions.

I am very sure they do not simply increase overall legendeary droprate but i am still not sure what exactly they are doing. As far as i know, the formulas are secret, so we have no idea what they exactly do.

For example we both had one rare item drop very often fighting the warrior. First i was thinking they enhanced the specific item i got 5 times, now i am thinking what could cause the behavior including your experiences.

We do not even know if the formula is influenced by other things like number of players (i think so) and maybe even classes and items used.

But one thing for me seems to be sure: the system does not behave as if it just would be an increase of the overall droprate. I concentrate my tactics on this and you can concentrate your tactics on an overall increase of droprates.

in the end we have much to few data to do more than guessing.

Oh yeah. Last week a tork regurger in TPS dropped a corrosive nasty surprise for me. It could just have been a lucky world drop but I was thinking they might have assigned some more legendaries in the last patch on the down low. It would make sense because they are nasty little bastards. Anybody else heard of anything like this?

Alright, report time:

The Warrior, 10 tries = Nothing
Mick Zaford, 20 tries = 1 Maggie
Knuckledragger, 10 tries = Nothing
The loot train, 5 tries = Nothing

Yeah, drop rates this week are much lower than last week. I need to do more farming to get a better idea of how low they are, but I can confirm that they’re considerably lower than last week. This was to be expected, really. Drop rates were good during the first week, abysmal during the second and RIDICULOUSLY AMAZING during the third. They’re probably tweaking them from week to week to reach that perfect percentage, so it only makes sense they would dial it down a bit for this week. Hopefully the final week will be higher again and then they’ll settle on a new one that’s neither too low or too high to maybe implement permanently. Even if it was just a special event and the drop rates go back to default, it was still fun.

They seem to be default rates.

i do agree with you (a vet since bl1 first came out 2009) but the problem that gearbox has is how to attracted new players to bl2 and tps and carry them on to bl3 . certain percentage of them do not want put the work in ,they want the best guns quickly and I don’t envy them it is going to be hard to get the right balance . I think the best medium so far is week one , week 2 (lets all forget about that) week 3 far too high but that just my opinion and also maybe time to finish the missions of that they forgot about .

I think week three should be set as the drop rates eps islet since I have legitly ranked up to op8 and earned my way up the badass rank of 75k in three characters

I really haven’t done much farming yet…but in 15 kills of knuckle dragger i got 3 hornets. I will be knocking it in the head pretty hard through the weekend
