Borderlands 2 Hot Fixes Rolling Out [Updated 1/25/2016]

I loved the WTF shield before, but this is an unexpected bonus! Given how few people seemed to use or even like that shield, I figured Gearbox would leave it alone. I’m psyched man! While it’s not a grenade mod, the boosters do behave like shock grenades in terms of how their damage is handled. I may have to give this to Gaige as part of my weapon exchange program (and maybe update my WTF guide too… see what sort of DoT it’s throwing now). Finally… I wasn’t aware that Vel0city was borking crit damage?

edit - here’s Axton throwing shock DoT from the shield boosters (buffed with 20% BAR, slag, and 50% from the Shock Trooper COM):

It had a decimal where it shouldn’t be, or something close to it.

It was half I think, gave you 7.5% at 5/5 instead of 15%.

Sweet! Maybe now I’ll tear myself away from FO4 and get myself those maya skins. I hear the assassin one is f***ing gorgeous…

For TPS:

I just wish they would do this with the Grog (since some people have it legit from the Loot Hunt and the rest of us melee Zer0’s are at the mercy of RNG every time we load into the game). And maybe something similar with the Crit since as-is, it’s a once-per-playthrough kind of thing with the very distinct possibility of throwing itself off cliffs.

I would also like to see that happen, not just for the Grog Nozzle but all the “once-per-playthrough” items because there are some that I would love to get my hands on but don’t feel trading for them or replaying the story from scratch. It would also be nice if the Cobra and the Twister could be given to at least 1 other enemy in the game so we have additional options for farming them.

The WTF was, for certain values of viable, lethal on Axton before (I like to give it a healthy OP buff and play with 20% BAR; for that risk, those orbs should be wrecking face). I think it still produces more damage with grenade damage buffs than electrocute DoT buffs, but at least that skill on the Shock Trooper mod won’t go to waste if that’s your COM of choice.

Perhaps more useful for damage output than the electrocute damage over time is the higher booster proc chance. I didn’t see a change in the card value, and I may be sensing fake results because of my elation with these fixes, but dang if that thing wasn’t showering enemies in Lynchwood with shock death. Scavengers were the only things I was unable to kill with it, mostly because they were squirming around a lot and inadvertently dodged the shock boosters. Everything up to Bone Crushers and UBA Marauders were on the menu though.

Any luck with these yet? I did about 30 runs of the first assassin this morning and just got the usual handful of Commerce drops plus a couple Emperors. Will try a few more runs this afternoon.

Yup. Got Maya’s on my 37th try killing only the first assassin. Still farming for Axton’s and Zer0’s. I’ve also seen a lot of other people around here saying they got them.

Glad to hear. No luck for me today. 50+ runs over two sessions. Maybe tomorrow. :confused:

I got an assassin skin yesterday from reeth, I wasn’t farming for them just running the map. It was zer0’s dark night I think

I am liking how Gearbox is still fixing issues this long after the release of Borderlands 2, I am quite impressed.

I’m noticing that something else was changed on those skins… Now they all seem to be purple rarity. They were white rarity before the hotfix. That’s nice. Makes it easier to notice when one of them drops.

Actually, they are all purple except Zero’s skin which is still white. (At least that’s how it is on PS4)

I remember seeing an old(er) YouTube video where Axton’s skin was white rarity. This was on PS3.

As for the purple, when I saw a glimpse of the first drop I cursed because I initially thought it was eridium. :slight_smile:
