I wouldn’t mind that, but it seems like a waste when there are so many good characters already made. the idea of creating ANOTHER sniper and ANOTHER soldier to replace the perfectly good one we already have seems like creatively bankrupt make-work. I’m all for new characters, but the continuity suggests that whatever the alien at the end of TPS was talking about hasn’t happened yet, so why not have MORE characters available, new and old, maybe six player co-op this time around?
As much as I want a fresh cast with a whole new skill set, Tina would definitely work as a new skill set entirely even if she’s a returning character. Maybe work her in as a DLC. BTW I would personally love to see an archor take on the sniper/pistol specialist role. Possibly a samurai.
Since split screening is just about diminished, I’m all for 6-8 player co ops. All 8 of the already established characters as DLCs but 4 new characters to start with.
I would like new character ideas (just speculation of course) for Borderlands 3 now that its confirmed. Please no previous characters made vault hunters(not that i’m against that).
I would like a melee only vault hunter. Their gameplay and masteries could be modeled like the psycho but no guns. Of course they could use guns, but they specialize in a new loot type…melee. They could add swords, axes, hammers, and other melee weapons styled with various eras of weapons IE Bushido, knight, laser swords. The new weapons would also be viable to other vault hunters but the real benefits would be reaped by the melee hunter. They could also be interchangeable in roles. They could have more survivability or more damage. More speed run or more stealth.

I think it would be cool to be able to play as a skag in the game like how he would use his gun would be a shoulder mounted way and his skill trees could be where when he use his skill he turns into a bad ass skag or an armored skag or even a giant skag like a friendly skag like Dukino in borderlands 2 but a skag that you can play as would be awesome and new or at least a vault hunter with a cool pet

i personly would love to see some of the characters from the first game with better upgraded abilities, like lilith since she has eriudm in her, her phasewalk and phaseblast should be better and faster or something,

Revamped? Make some new char, and get all the old ones… get a tons of playable character, you’ll get old fans enjoy a new one or stick with their favorite.

Yeah I would like to see new unique characters buy most like lay they will be similar to the characters on bl1 and bl2 but as long as there is a good story and a good siren it will be cool
So I think for the siren they should let angel be it like she got revived from eridium and became a good character out of guilt but anger and revenge on jack and prove that she is a good person to the other vault hunters
Nah this is a good idea because if you remember at the end of bl2 u had brick,mordecai, and lilith talking about the new vaults considering Roland is dead adding tina in his place would be great .
My opinion? 16 is too much and will probably complicate the loot balance and push it further toward a MMORPG.
I want the game to stay to its roots but advance more than what TPS gave us. I think the loot system is in need of more variety of types of weapons.
I’d like 6 players to start and 2 for DLC. I hope the game isn’t rushed out either, they need to ensure this game is at least as big of an advancement as bl2 was to bl.
I’m very excited for a new borderlands game but of it comes down between a game released a year early as mediocre vs a game released a year later as incredible. I can wait.
As for characters I want all new ones, I am not interested in them bringing back old vault hunters. My opinion though.
With all the talk about Tina I honestly think this character is all but confirmed. I would be shocked if Tina WASNT a selectable character.
agreed, “revamping” BL1 characters is not interesting at all. that only serves to satisfy nostalgia that people have form playing the first game. and attempt at capturing a feeling they had in the first game and that is not how games character development should be based on. NEW characters and have a throw back to those favorite parts about BL1 but new games should be continuations not redos.
Torgue(the company)reintroduces non-explosive weapons and Mister Torgue leaves because of this, becoming a vault hunter because that’s what all his friends do and the journey to a vault results in many EXPLOSIONS!!
Action skill, named “MEDLELELELOWW!!”, is MT doing a sick air guitar solo that adds explosive damage to melee attacks, heavily improves the damage of already explosive weapons and changes non-explosive weapons’ damage to explosive. Duration: 15 seconds
Cooldown: 45 seconds
First skill tree:
Named “COMBUSTIVE DENIAL”(because MT refuses to accept that Torgue has evolved) is, obviously, focused on dealing absurd amounts of explosive damage. The mid tree single point skill turns any and all grenades thrown while the action skill is active into MIRVs. So you can have a MIRV that not only functions as a MIRV but throws out 5+ completely new MIRVs…yeah. The final skill of the tree works in a way similar to bloodsplosion with a few minor tweaks. For starters, it’s not guaranteed to proc. When an enemy is damaged by some sort of explosive they have a 33% chance to become a walking bomb, signified by a lit bomb icon appearing above them. Any damage done to a marked target will be added to the value of their death nova. The death nova in question has a large blast radius and always deals twice the damage the enemy took.
Second skill tree:
Haven’t thought of a name, but it’s melee/rocket launcher focused. Many skills increase melee damage and rocket launcher effectiveness in several different ways, the most notable being “SIMPLICITY!!” which, at 5/5, gives explosive damage a flat increase of 75%. The mid tree single point skill grants very, VERY slow rocket regen,I’m talking like .25 per second, and also gives you 66% more rockets in your reserves. The final skill is a melee override that makes MT digistruct a torgue shotgun that shoots 20-25 gyrojet rounds, 7 rockets and 3 MIRVs, it’s pretty stupid and because of that, has a 25 second cooldown.
Final skill tree:
Named “ACCEPTANCE!!!” Is focused on dealing damage through non-explosive means and works a lot like a mixture of Anarchy and Bloodlust. Stacks of “I’M OKAY WITH THIS!” Are acquired through dealing damage. These stacks improve reload speed, fire rate, gun damage and accuracy for non-explosive guns by 3.5% per stack. Each stack also “grants” health degen. For every stack you have, you lose 0.035% health per second. You can (initially) acquire 100 stacks and said stacks decay at a rate of 20/sec after not dealing damage for 2.5 seconds. The mid tree single point skill, named “COLD TURKEY?!?!” gives you 0.50% increased accuracy, fire rate, reload speed and gun damage with explosive weapons for every stack of “I’M OKAY WITH THIS!!!” as well as allowing you to acquire an additional 100 stacks of “I’M OKAY WITH THIS!” The last skill in the tree gives every enemy killed a 5% percent chance to instantly give you full “I’M OKAY WITH THIS!” stacks and a 12% chance to completely refill your health.
This may seem unbalanced. It is. This is my dream Torgue who, when specced correctly, could get an additive explosive damage bonus of 325%. With even more added via Class mods. If there are any tweaks you’d like to make, please do so, but explain them throughly so you don’t look stupid.
I would love a raw melee class, even though I know BL is a shooter. but it would just be soooo good!
I would love to see a character that should be basically have weapon that is a rubber duck that he use for melee or something that make no senses. ??? as the enter something funny here that would be perfect
What about an necromancer that can summon the dead. One skill tree could be called Apocalypse and would be focused on infecting as many enemys as possible to enlarge your zombie army.
Would be pretty cool imo. And there is a lot of potential to create different skill trees.
