Borderlands 3 - DEV UPDATE: FINE-TUNING MAYHEM 2.0

I mean moze relies on splash to carry her skill tree. Zane literally gets to use splash and then tons of multiplicative splash bonuses. Also launchers not needing good aim makes them amazing for slide shooting.

Amara having 20% splash damage in her skill tree doesn’t put her in an elevated launcher spot lol.

i didnt know, zane has splash damage boni in his skilltree O:

There is even a tooltip on loading to suggest any character can use any weapon, just because it wrecks on your main, does not mean it’s the same for other players mains.

I have a solid build that works well in all areas M10 and I’ll use Traunt as an easy example in a straight fight it’s about 5 or 6 mags of Hellshock to strip the shield. Then about 20 to 30 sec staying mobile and pinging YC which I find quite acceptable and fun.

I don’t look for splash gear

Yes the YC or PB will do a similar job esp when mayhem drops the immunity bomb.

Yay, more nerfs! /sarcasm

Folks who like the system are not vocal about it but am sure plenty are.

The right and wrong ways of doing something are entirely relative in regards to things like game difficulties

I guess strictly speaking the point isn’t to exclude people, but indirectly it is. It’s supposed to offer a challenge that not everyone can deal with. Otherwise this whole talk about creating a difficult experience becomes hollow. I don’t need to play on the highest difficulty to enjoy playing, but it feels kinda bad if gear is gated behind that. For reference, as Fl4k I was already having trouble on M4 Maliwan Takedown. It was stressful but very possible for me to beat it, nothing I could farm over and over during an evening though. At the moment M10 feels easier than that most of the time, but it’s not really how I’d like to play constantly, and sometimes just taking it easy while not completely giving up any chance for the best endgame gear would be nice.

Also, just a quick reminder, all I’m asking for is that the ceiling for weapon scaling isn’t the highest possible mayhem level, but maybe one a few levels down.

@lolli42
Do you realize who you are debating Zane with?

i am not debating
i have no idea about zane
i probably read his skilltree once, somewhere a year ago and i didnt remember any splash damage skills

My deepest apologies, did you know who you were discussing Zane with?

I never made it to OP8. Maybe OP4? DT wasn’t bad with Love Thumper. Hidden gem for melee builds. Came from a side quest no less!

dude, no
who is it?
if its the dev who is in charge for zanes character design, they should have a GBX in the name

Look at the small text next to the forumname, ring any Youtube bells?

not really
i think i saw something with “thic” in a twitch suggestion once? i dont know

Everyone is acting like you’re the weird one for not knowing ThiccFilA. I like his videos too, but it’s not like every borderlands player needs to know every borderlands content creator.

He’s a youtuber, makes primarily borderlands content, and he focuses heavily on Zane. If you were to watch some of his videos, you’d probably see him one-shot various bosses with Zane and a rocket launcher multiple times.

Mystery solved.

I think MH 10 is “easy” if you’re using the new weapons like OPQ and Yellowcake, but if you’re sticking with original weapons then for the most part enemies are bullet sponges. E.g, my level 57 redistributor was great in the original MH 4 but it doesn’t do much in MH 10 relative to what the Kaoson does. I did struggle in old MH4 depending on the character (could do a lot more with Zane than other characters) but I was ok with that b/c I could still obtain what I wanted to obtain. I’m just hoping I can still do that after the fixes.

To me something like the Takedown is a challenge b/c there are lots of enemies to kill, but no single enemy is a mere bullet sponge–so it’s challenging but also fun. If they trend towards that, I’m ok with it. If they make it such that something takes 15 minutes to kill simply b/c it doesn’t take damage (like trying to kill that big ass Dexiduous in BL2) then it’s lame. Challenging games should still be fun, not tedious or frustrating.

zane is just OP in general, id say
but i dont know
then people who cant make good use of the YK are probably just doing it wrong^^

Not only that, but they aren’t even normally available weapons. Anyone not doing the Cartel event won’t be able to get them without trading.

Yeah really?
Coming from someone who before the Moze buffs was crying about the feeling of being forced to play a certain way I find that comment hilarious.

Yes by utilising crit swap or overkill, Zane can pull off some glorious Hollywood kills but that means playing a certain way something I sympathised with you previously.

Now I’ll just avoid it, muted.
