Borderlands 3 Hot Fixes [10/17/2019]

Flakker now consumes an entire magazine. Why? Not gonna stop me from using it on Moze. Cancel the reload with melee and let ammo regen kick in, fire it again. You’re just making using a weapon more annoying, that is all. And why nerf the butcher? Fixing the bugs, assigning designated drops to enemies and addressing issues with mayhem mode modifiers and enemies should be you first priority, not nerfing gear in pve game. Moze’s Vampyr skill has been bugged since release, it’s her only skill that can give her health and it doesn’t work 80% of the time.

Lol what a bad joke that hotfixes are, if anybody would grap a trash ten gallon because of tiny 8% Base-Damage buff!

Infinity dmg: if you like to buff nothing with 40% you get also nothing. They should have infinity nerfed, so nobody has to search for those lvl.1 ones.
Nothing about fixing freezing loot-tinks (would have no effect either, because off offline playing)
Try Bold: To slow projectile, dmg was ok before.
Flakker is crippled now, munition-consumption would have been nerf enough by that bad reloadspeed. But now it does no damage at all => mule for offline
In the Twitch- podcast big words about how overhelming the hellwalker is (what nobody thought about) and now instead of nothing they nerv the so overhelming hellwalker by 8% xD

To come to an conclusion:
Thanks thx for crippling all meta weapons to death and all nades, too. Only nade you can use for now is stormfront. Great job, make the meta even more meta.
And with this eridium-weak no one has the need to play online, so we will see us online in two weeks when bloodyHarvest kicks in.

Well from my understanding the updates dont matter if you just play offline. Of course if you dont like the state of the game since it came out then you will no doubt dislike offline because the state it came out is the default and only setting in offline.

In my case I was playing primarily in online but solo and realized how much offline can help for getting money, iridium shards, and legendaries from loot tinks also EXP from bosses.

Unfortunately Whilst I have been farming for better gear than was easily obtainable in Online I still haven’t managed to pick up a lot of things i want for my character like the Unforgiven, Hex, Lyuda, King/Queen’s Call, Wagon wheel or Firesale. But now with them nerfing the Lyuda, Hex, and others I’m not sure that the Hex or Firestorm will be worth getting or that now when online they will be just mostly a gimmick. Most of the things I have in my Bank/Inventory Are gimmicky guns or that could be good with another character or build just not MY FL4K atm.

For me the biggest nerfs are to the Flakker, Firestorm, Hex, Lyuda, Cutsman, Lucian’s Call.

However I do like the Buffs to the Maggie, Faisor, Infinity, Try-Bolt, Devil’s Foursum, hunter-Seeker and Pets and also that Booster shields can auto pickup the drops now.

Question is can the nerfs to the Flakker, Cutsman Especially affect my game-play more than the buffs to the Maggie, Infinity, Faisor, Pets, Booster shields, that is hard to answer, not because of this update only though but because of the accumulation of updates overall and how they affect my FL4K Build what with my emphasis on Fade Away Crit Scoring, which BTW Fade Away with the Maggie against Graveward works wonders maybe not a one shot kill, haven’t used some dmg stacking Unforgiven+Scourge OHK magic like Glitching-Queen but still i do alright, however the fade away is greatly reduced in power from offline to online, not sure the 8 seconds-5 seconds gorillas in the mist can be compensated enough with the buffs as it is brought down by the nerfs.

PS. Not sure if anyone on here knows the answer to my question but there is a thing beside claptrap on Sanctuary 3 that looks like a little loot stash that says locked. Is that like a small item chest that can be unlocked by him by doing something specific or what? because I’m in the endgame but haven’t done everything just yet and still that thing says locked i figured it would be like Borderlands 2 Claptrap’s Loot Stash but I’m pretty sure I’ve done 7/7 missions for him and still nothing.

The only thing I can think of is maybe it will unlock once I have completed all missions and or 100% in game which to me seems counter-intuitive, storage is an issue when there are so many uniques and legendaries out there, I think just the time it took to get more storage form game start to getting to Marcus in sanctuary was long enough. Granted i bought the super-deluxe edition and had a whole bunch of one-off items I wanted to store for later due to rarity also i didn’t at first understand the mailbox system but i do now, sure have gotten a lot of sweet items from it.

Which btw I know a lot of people hate Maliwan weapons but the ones that say charging increases power, velocity and splash are awesome because they allow you to have a weapon charged like a plasma Pistol in Halo and able to fire extremely powerful elemental shots and you can arm yourself with a sniper for point blank range dmg same as using a Jakobs that way,

no need for a Jakobs shotgun if you have a revolver/sniper, granted the one pump chump is awesome. Also Under-barrel Big boy Rockets are sick asf and can do an insane single shot amount of dmg with FL4k in fade away because you can crit and do massive splash dmg for a ridiculous amount think like 15K+(4)for any element and the ability to fire 3/4 in rapid succession in one fade away, if you dont kill most enemies within just a few shots then you can be sure they are likely gonna have a bad headache as the blast may launch them very far from you, also down yourself so be careful.

I am a Zane player, and moze. Both 50, guardian rank 195 built/geared. These nerfs are ridiculous. It’s a single player rpg…no economy, no pvp.

If you go back to the beginning you’ll see where my issue is…I get 1 day a week to play if I’m lucky so getting the correct gear to create the synergy with my build takes forever, if we had dedicated loot sources I wouldn’t care at all because I’d know where to go to get new gear for new synergy but the way the game is at the moment i spend my whole play time getting the gear that compliments my build and not enjoying the game.

I’ve finished everything in the game and all these nerfs aren’t encouraging me to keep playing, I don’t even want to touch the other characters until it’s finished because the goalposts are constantly moving

Yes, there have been buffs, but they have been minimal, or they are fixing small issues instead of larger ones. Is adding 100% health to the clone good? Sure…I guess. But that, along with the prior buffs to SNTL and clone’s dmg are just meh. They don’t really help Zane’s biggest problem, which is that his damage output doesn’t scale well. At least not nearly as well as the other VH’s.

The annointment and AS buffs are not where he needs buffs. His passives are. All three of the other characters’ passive skills provide large damage increases that scale really well. Zane’s do not. And while GB buffs the minor applications for him, they’re simultaneously destroying weapons that are great for his fun cryo build. Now we’re down to pretty much the Night Hawkin and maybe the Maggie now? Sure, you can try other weapons but since his damage output already struggles to keep up with other VH’s and the dumb Annointed enemies are immue to cryo, he keeps getting indirectly nerfed.

I’m ok with playing him on normal or base tvhm until fixes come around. I have a fl4k pet build that I enjoy and amara to level

Please, please, please stop nerfing everything good. What is the point? . . . Maybe focus on making other things better or fixing some of that endless list of bugs rather than ruining some of the most fun aspects of the game.

I only use the hex for the mass crits on my fl4k anyways. can you say infinite Fade away?

I’ve waited since 2012 and I am on board with this wholeheartedly. They didnt give bl2 near this much attention in the first 3to6months compared to here. Between qol improvements and actually balancing weapon classes and specific guns.

That’s just where you and i differ. I won’t marry to just one build or character. I am constantly trying new things. I understand completely where you are coming from, limited time to play. But if something is too OP and needs addressed then it will be. You should almost come to expect it. Every once in awhile they will make mistakes (leave no trace) but these nerfs are justified imo.
Idk it’s just never been a thing imo to make a build right off the rip and borderlands and have it stick the entirety of the game’s life span. Could they have done a better job testing all these things before launch? Hell yes. that is obvious. But I for one am happy they are taking cheese elements out. The earlier the better.

perhaps fix the bank, none functioning fast travel, locations we can’t get to, crashes on Xbox when trying to join friends?

The nerfs wouldn’t feel as painful if they fixed the big stuff too

And the best way to make it harder is to nerf everyone down till we using the one weapon or spec nerfed the least. Instead of adding challenging content? Seriously there is no way you people are defending these nerfs. Flakker is now weaker then most white items. They aleady robbed us with a half done game with no endgame a crap story and a crap itemization. Now they nerfing the few good items we have not to balance but totally removing them in cases like the flakker. Shows they going to half ass dlc too youll see.

This hotfix is the nail in the coffin for me.

Don’t get me wrong I enjoyed playing this game and getting may Zane to complete all content on hardest difficulty before the slight buffs. This was my last chance hoping you would fix the main problems I have with this game or at least address them, ok nventory space and bank space is one of your biggest issues, I’ve never seen a game where Facebook pages are just filled up with players giving away items. There is under 200 guns from what I hear and that means we have to get perfect rolls plus’s anointed for perfect gear and you give us a joke amount of bank soace, I just can’t see how these decisions are being given the go ahead.

The lack of communication from gearbox is a joke. I seen some replies here but nothing on Reddit and nothing of real substance or plans for the future. These events have also been a complete joke and all these things combined have let me know that these people have no clue abouttheir own game. Not to mention simple things like mayhem not being unlocked on console till you compete tvhm and it just feeling like a major letdown that I farmed mayhem 1 normal for ages and then didn’t even really see much better drops in hours and hours of mayhem 3 TVHM. It’s sad because this game has so much potential but I’m not getting my hopes up anymore. It’s been fun and I hope they fix this unfinished beta so I can come back and enjoy it again.

But that just isn’t true. Not even close

It’s no different the the bee nerf right now

I just shot a Flakker 5 times in a row thanks to MoD. You can probably maintain 1 mag “infinitely” with a little grenade support and still be fine. I don’t think your build is broken at all actually.

Crossroads got nerfed too. Only fires 3 projectiles instead of 4 now.

Like the infinity + the bee in bl2

I used to try new things when I had more game time but unfortunately with my work life as I said I’m limited to game time so just want to spend that limited time enjoying the game rather than painfully trying to get new gear.

Like I said, if I knew a source for specific gear I wouldn’t care if my build changed every week cos I’d know where to go to get the gear I wanted but at the moment it’s just repetitive killing one boss over and over to get what I need then it being nerfed beyond useful and having to do it all again. It’s making me not want to play.

I get why they are done and I’m glad they are fixing stuff it’s just really frustrating for people who can’t pour hours in to it to go and get a new loadout
