Apparently, as written right above you, it’ll take a patch to fix those specific issues. Not sure why a patch is needed to scale grenades, but I’m not a programmer so I wouldn’t understand!
@Noelle_GBX is the release of the 2nd Takedown still on schedule for this month? Just curious. COVID-19 and Mayhem issues etc etc might have done something.
Hotfixes are generally smaller things that we can address without having to go through the whole patch process. Not everything can be a hotfix. Things like code changes have to wait until a full patch, which is what this fall into.
We’re hoping to be able to share more information on this soon.

Im still confused how the April 30th hotfix drastically changed dlc drops. Unintended I’m guessing but any word on leaving this areas to dlc drops only?

More communication would definitely be appreciated.

My guess is that the base damage is actually determined by an internal calculation based on level. If that was somehow coded so it capped out at level 57 with no modifier adjustment, the code would need to be changed.

I’m curious how they could miss the grenades scaling as well or the chest from the previous patch

That’s an issue forsure, I get the chest idea mabye it’s intended for people to ‘earn’ there mayhem for a month. But trades and gifts make that irrelevant so I don’t get it if that was the intended implication
The patch didn’t affect those drops. The Co-Op Loot Drop event that was buffing drop rates throughout the game ended that day. People are seeing less drops now that the event is over.

Not that this isn’t some progress, but at 8 months in ‘some progress’ really isn’t good enough.
This is an FPS looter shooter and the game runs like a dead dog and 90% of the loot doesn’t scale and so isn’t usable at highest difficulty.
It’s not being rude to say I’m really not interested anymore in what can and can’t be done in a fix of patch or what’s going to take more time. The last patch ruined the game - fix it please, quickly while you have some players left.

I am happy with the hotfixes this week. To me this signals they want to spend more time and thought fixing things rather than just pushing hotfixes to make people happy for the week, hoping to see some major balance changes in the next patch though.

What’s the point of looting the universe if 90% of the gear is useless in M10 and higher Mayhem levels?! And as a Flak player, I have to say, his pets are practically useless and get killed immediately. How did GB not address this and the several other issues before releasing M 2.0?! We should not be testing this for them, but that’s what it feels like every time something new is released. I’m really getting tired of this game and am taking a break until GB gets their sh@t together…which may be never.

Appreciate the fix on the loot drops, but I have to say this. For a game that is (almost) all about the drops, you don’t wait until your usual schedule to fix it. You fix it immediately. I imagine you know how many players were playing during that time, most probably not even aware that there was a problem because most are likely not checking the forum all the time. All that time played when the most fundamental part of the game was broken. You push that type of thing with a hotfix the moment the dev gets it done.

Can you tell us if that future patch would be able to scale the grenades we currently have based on the Mayhem level they were dropped at, or if we can just let them lying on the ground until then? Is the info still stored at all, with no effect, or does it not even exist?
e.g. if I pick a grenade in M10 right now, will it be scale to M10 after it’s patched, or will it be a M0 grenade mod?

I understand that I don’t mean drop rates I’m sorry let me clarify I mean the amount of standard world drop items pushing out dlc world drops. Like woodblockers, the flood, etc you name it. Tom/Xan rarely drop dlc specific items other than their dedicated drop and a lot of people who pay for the dlc’s are upset about that specific part. Not the rate itself but the polluted/diluted nature of those areas

Shame they didn’t do that before releasing the patch. My feelings about supporting this is game is like release the content, fix it, repeat. In the meantime some other things are busted.

Great stuff guys! Thank you for all your work during these trying times. Good to still see weekly updates, excited for this month’s patch with the new Takedown (hoping that’s still on schedule) and whatever fixes you have in store for us. (Fingers crossed for some Split-Screen love this time).
Keep up the good work.

When are the item cards going to display the mayhem level, and is that going to be retroactive (i.e., applied to existing items in inventory)?

So what is the point of fixing drop rates when the stuff that’s dropping is practically useless? Getting plenty of legendary drops already - it’s just all useless.

Yeah I hate to be that negative voice that dwells on hindsight, but it would have been nice to see Mayhem 2.0 postponed and then later launched without all of these big issues in the first place. One of the worst things to see in a game is when developers are drowning in their own programming debt, so after a big update the next X amount of weeks (or even months) are spent barely keeping up with fixes to newly introduced problems. We have a new Takedown possibly coming soon on top of the next DLC in development; I hate to see Gearbox barely keeping their heads above water trying to fix some of these major problems when there might be more just waiting around the corner. And this is on top of all of the existing bugs, some of which have been in the game since launch. Check out the dedicated topics for each of the Vault Hunters, there are some bugs that have been known for months.
I know I’m probably just a minority but I really wouldn’t mind content being delayed if it meant it would be that much better when it launched. The Mayhem 2.0 rollout was disappointing to say the least.

If some major Mayhem 2.0 fixes drop with a new Takedown along with new legendary mods, that could be a pretty special day. Let’s hope they get it right.
