Haunt was already tanky, so may be they did not buff him THAT much. Did other two Traunts at least drop anything of interest? I could use a new Ghost Call or Fearmonger …

@CharmlessBee Cap Traunt dropped a x2 Kaoson first kill. Haunt dropped a Fearmonger first kill. In my experience Kaosons and Fearmongers are both kinda rare, so I’d say the drop rates seem like they could be turned up. I’m gonna do a few more runs tonight and I’ll let you know.

5 sec with Hellwalker/Revolter and fadeaway… what a raid boss

It is a bit stupid to have it apply to generic TVHM as opposed to TVHM with MH on. E.g. if you finished the story in normal at level 42 and then jumped right into tvhm with MH off there’s virtually no change in difficulty (other than enemies will all be scaled with you like in MH on normal mode), so having to fight the traunts as raid bosses is a bit harsh.

What I wonder: if you jumped into TVHM at level 72 with MH off (or I guess on until you faced a Traunt) but used your level 72 HM 10 gear wouldn’t the fight still be fairly easy? Since you can play in MH mode in TVHM I’d think there’s a big difference (unless for this event they just scaled it such that it’s the same). I’ve fought Hemivorous and the Seer in THMH with MH off and on (off just to make farming Company Man artifacts and Seer class mods faster) and there’s a huge difference in difficulty. So unless they changed the scaling just for the Traunts I’d think you could still easily kill them in TVHM if you had MH 10 gear.

Time to go to Heck Hole friend  I got a really good Fearmonger out of Haunt and also this in Heck, from a loot ghost

And apparently Haunt wasn’t balanced like his two bros. Cap Traunt and General Traunt have like 20Billion shields and 20 billions health. Haunt seems to have more shield than health, hence why he can seem “easier” to take down.
… or maybe I’m a fool, and his health hotfix isnt applying xD but I got a dedicated drop every run I did on Heck hole

maybe this will be the one shot at getting a vindicator ghast call–perhaps now a 1 in 8 billion chance.

@EzioILMentore Oh wow, great drop. Congrats on that one, friend!

Did a few runs earlier with Moze and was having success with Lovable Rogue against Captain.

@CharmlessBee Also just got a Scream of Terror from Capt. Traunt as well. So yeah, it appears that the Traunts are dropping Halloween event loot with at least some regularity.

It appears to be,

Athenas: Scream of Terror
Nekrotafeyo: Stalker
Heck: Fearmonger / Ghast Call

Don’t you need to kill lt traunt to progress in the regular game , didn’t gb just mess up first time players

It’s only on TVHM and Mayhem, first time players won’t be affected by this.

Haunt has always had way more shield than health, so this would not surprise me.

even hitting them on tvhm will be a shock

I mean sure, but folks have already covered why this isn’t that huge of a block. Just go in without the hotfix and the HP will be normal.

I do agree that it’s an odd choice for campaign bosses to be given the raid boss treatment. But it’s not like GB made it mandatory, it can be worked around or avoided all together pretty easy.

@Noelle_GBX is it possible that maybe, hotfix hasn’t been applied on Captain Haunt ? He seems to have way less HP than the others, and his drops feel pretty inconsistent

it took me nearly 30 minutes to kill captain traunt–what a waste. I was throwing everything I had at him–light shows, backburners, sand hawks, flippers, hellwalker, monarch, etc. and using zane’s clone and nothing worked.

bullet sponges are just stupid–the two traunt fights themselves are boring–just small contained areas where the fight is very basic. so making them bullet sponges adds nothing to the game. they need to come up with better ways to make these a challenge other than simply add more health–all it does is adds time.

And yay, a scream of terror–since it can’t drop anointed whether you get one or a hundred they are 100% identical.

Aside from Guardian Angel CMT chucking, I had to resort to using a Free Radical plus spamming Re-Volter by entering and exiting bear over and over to kill Traunt since he’s so beefy combined with the fire resistance… Pretty dumb. It’s really like Seer but worse.

Tried Captain Haunt next with the same setup and obliterated him instantly, but maybe the hotfix didn’t load since he only dropped a Frontloader.

edit: General Traunt also a chore… really don’t know what I’m missing but feels like Moze struggles a lot with these ‘raid bosses’.

Grenade Fl4k with Unleash the dragon and fish slap eats them hard xD
Gonna try to pull a one shot Kickcharger tomorrow, probably going to need an Infernal Wish for that. Hope it’s possible with Fl4k !

A lot of Moze’s power lies in Skag Den. Against an enemy with big shields and a crit spot that can be hard to hit because of how Traunt moves and all the ridiculous visual pollution half the time you wouldn’t even know which way Traunt is facing. Maybe you can get lucky with Mindsweeper chains.
