Anybody get a chance to check out the characters for the halted Borderlands Online China exclusive yet? Oh mah gawd, those characters look GREAT! All 4 of them do. I hope they keep those characters for Borderlands 3. They look too good to throw away! I can’t be the only one that thinks that. What is everyone else’s take on them?

Ket purples a be better thangood but not ss special as legendsries

What about negating BAR (by default) for gun/grenade/melee damage and fire rate in online play, and letting the host determine if that cap is lifted or not? In this way, you prevent one-shotters from taking the challenge out of it all, and minimize the likelihood of getting an disconnect from overload.

Then you will like purples in pre sequel thats what they did with pre sequel.

Gaige is likely going to be just a NPC cause if you played pre sequel she’s a NPC in arena already only chances of becoming a playable characters are pickle and tiny tina with pickle being a gaige or wilhelm like character

For my Character Ideas for BL3 one is Tiny Tina who loves explosive weaponry and is speced in explosives and for main skill she trows grenades as fast as you can click it without using your grenade ammo, 2nd is Pickle who like robots and has skill similar to Wilhelm who has a surveyor robot but his 1st robot recharges his shield and health and 2nd flying robot deals damage.

For my weaponry idea just bring back lasers they’re awsome and cold element is better than slag bring it back too. Scrap slag its not that good, its better seeing your enemies freeze rather than get slagged. Do not forget. E-gun bring it back too It’s one of the top lasers in pre sequel cause of only laser without element. Do not bring back crappy weapons like Crit freekin gun falls off your hands as you reload, that’s what makes it crappy not the damage or DOT. Make weapons easier to find not like cobra which you can only get if your luckier than most players or in 4 player mode.

Relics scrap it. Oz kits bring it back it’s way cooler and has more use than relics but slammin enemies to death. also bring my fav ozkit back 3DD1.E and Springs Oz kit wow that invigoration oz kit really helps keep you alive if your starting out and have crappy gear bring it back too.

Edit:
More weaponry idea Glitch weapons are awesome instead of pearlesent make it glitch weapons. I like it how weapons glitch into another type of prefix while retaining properties of the prefix. Do not use BL2 assault rifles they are crappy. change the way we get seraph items and gear. Bring my fav sniper of all tme The Machine wow it can kill in pre sequel just got it last new year. Heart breaker shotgun very effective in pre sequel cause of fire element effect making it a non elemental outside of atmosphere. That makes it potent to fire resistant enemies just shoot them outside of atmosphere.
Bring back the blockhead too its top tier weapon for gaige in bl2 its going to be nice to see it again.

Yes Zombie Juice 98! Oh My Golly they are soooo awesome looking!!! xD

I question my orientation after viewing this picture. Should I be concerned? I mean those girls doe… But those guys 2?

Hey everyone
There are sooo many ideas about Borderlands 3 here already, i’m sure that i will repeat someone’s idea, because i can’t memorize them all  So, i’ll simply write everything i have on Borderlands 3 (ofc i will forget something) Oh yes, is it ok, if i will write Borderlands 1 and 2 like this B1 & B2? Thanks
Campaing
So, the main idea for the campaing itself. As we know, some war is coming, which means, that B3 need to make something bigger that fighting the Vault guardians. I think, that there could happen some kinda “parade of planets” or the universes with the planets, that have vaults (We saw it in the ending of B2).
So, a lot of planets will be in the line, which causes the trans-planet portal or area between it all to be open. This area is the place where all the biggest fights will be encountered(like final boss or bosses, i think that it is possible to fight 2 or more vault guardians at once, and in the end fight the biggest one)
Of course, it all will happen on Pandora as it is in the middle of all of it. Pandora is a big planet, and i hope that we haven’t discovered its all secrets and locations.
Locations
First of all, i hope that locations will be logically conected to each other. Like it was in B1. In B2 and TPS i don’t feel that i’m in the same world by constantly fast travelling or even walking to other location. In B1 it when you proceed to next area, it still feels that you are few meters from the place that you have just been in. In B2 you start in snow location, then get to the Sanctuary (No sing of any snow), then you go to the dust just walking through the door (I know that by the story it takes us few hours to get to the dust, but still, i was in Snooow map and now i am in the desert wtf)
Maybe some underwater locations with their own vechicels, and on water fights could be awesome.
Weapons
I think that there must be an option to upgrade your gun. For example: You pay Marcus and he sets on your gun a scope. I hope everyone played call of duty or similar games, where you can choose what to put on your gun, stock, grip, extended mag and so on. In B3 i think it would be nice for you to make a bad weapon into good one.
Elemental weapons. Nothing much to say here just i hope that there will be all elements from previous games (I didn’t play much TPS, i really don’t like, tried few times to start it, but i just done like that  ).
So lasers should be in. Cold elemental weapons could be awesome. Imagine that you attack enemy with cold elemental gun and it slows the enemy(they will walk, react, shoot slowly). If you freeze them too much, then you can break them like a glass. It is like slag weapons
Meele weapons should be in the game, i think (axes, swords, claws…)
Armor
I’ve always wanted to improve my defense in Borderlands. Sooooo maybe armor pieces could be added  They could even affect some skills. But also it is a good way to change your character appearence (or in case you dont want to see armor, there must a button which makes all the armor invisible) Good idea, right?
Characters
Scooter. Well, we all think that he is dead. I’m sure he is. But there too many movies and games where the dead guy comes back, i wouldn’t be surprised if Scooter is alive. Buuut i have a better idea for this. Scooter-bot. It’s a robot with Scooter’s mind (i guess he probably uploaded his brain to a hyperion robot, or some did it, or Scooter desinged a robot to act like him).
Sirens. There are 4 of 6 sirens in game (which i know). 1st on was killed in the B1 in the end(don’t really remember her name). 2nd is Lilith. 3rd is Maya. 4th was Angel. So, i think that 5th one must be a playable character. And the 6th could be a very badass boss. The siren who can controll all elements and have some more coold powers (fly, teleport, telekinesis…)
Playable characters
Well, all from the B2 should be still playable, maybe even characters from B1 too, but i’m not sure if that’s a good idea.
Here a some of my ideas for some new character’s abilities.
Teleport: When you activate your ability, you can teleport for a short distances few times. It can save you in battle, help reach high ground, reach far standing enemy, or get in the middle of the fight.
Slow time bubble: When you activate this ability a big bubble around you will appear for a short time and it will move with you in the middle of it. It’s radius should not be big (20meters), but everyone who gets in it (enemies only) will be slowed soo much, that you will actually be able to see bullets and easily dodge them.
I had more ideas about new abilities… can’t remember them all right now :frowning:
SO! I think that this Borderlands must be a 8 players playable game. 4 players split-screen ofc. But let’s image how cool could it be to play through the campaing with 7 friends online. Of course, the game should get much harder when there are 8 players, so that you will have to think about strategy and how to combine you charater’s ability with other charaters and weapons and so on.

Hmmm… i am sure that i had muuuuch more to say about B3. But that’s it for now ))) Hope you will understand everything i wrote here (I speak english really bad, but i did my best here)

Did we ditch the BL3 desires thread?: Desires For Borderlands 3

@cyrax93 Thought about it way back, but set it aside; however, after playing “Warriors Orochi 3” to revisit the weapon-forging system, I got to thinking some more on something that might fly.

I don’t know what’s the maximum listings you can have on the card, but some Hyperion and Maliwan weapons in B2 start to get really loaded, especially where zoom, Critical Damage, and elemental flavors are involved:

So I got to thinking, what if you take a base weapon [=the one you want to enhance] and add material weapons [=the ones you want to transplant traits/enhancements from] onto them? Although type-restricted and heavily assuming that B2’s trait system is carried over</font color>, this would apply to things like Reload Speed (=Tediore pistols/shotguns/SMGs), recoil reduction (=Hyperion weapons), and Critical Damage (=Hyperion-barreled pistols/SRs).

Anyhow, the way I got to thinking about it involves a you get a trait from a material weapon implanted, then keep adding material weapons to the base weapon. To enhance the trait (if it can be enhanced), the newer material must have a stronger number rating. For instance, most pistols with Hyperion barrels have +8% Critical Damage, but the Jakobs Longarm has a +33%; by this, adding +8% to a base +8% will do absolutely nothing.
Additionally, this would also have the side effect of carrying over any stats that are better than those on the base weapon. In effect, it’s a partial overwrite, although it will still cap. If the material weapon has better fire rate and reload speed than the base weapon, but worse accuracy and a smaller magazine, only fire rate and reload speed will be enhanced.

Also, the accessories do not all occupy the same space(s) on a weapon, right? If so might it be possible to create a weapon with multiple accessories/enhancements? Like an AR with the accessories for damage and fire rate, provided it’s all within (or at) the stat card’s limit?

EDIT: Still not sure what the trait limit is, but I found a Base Vision (acid) and Punctillious Phobia (shock) in my packs that had 6 on their cards:

 • zoom
 • weapon accuracy
 • recoil reduction
 • critical hit damage
 • elemental strength</font color>
 • sustained increases accuracy

 • zoom
 • high elemental effect damage
 • critical hit damage
 • increased ammo consumption
 • deals bonus elemental effect damage
 • elemental strength</font color>
So it’s safe to say that the card can support up to (at least) 6.

Ohh, i’m sorry, i just registered here yestarday  didn’t even know about B3 desiers thread… I saw this “Ideas & Improvement” so i thought that i should write my ideas that will improve the game here

@Raven_Ghosthawk So, if i got your idea right (and i hope i did), then when you get a legendary weapon the main goal will be to farm other weapons, which have something better than you legendary and use these guns to actually upgare your legendary gun, right?
For example, your gun has stats: (just numbers)
Fire rate - 5
Reload speed - 5
Damage - 5
Recoil reduction - 5
So, you will check other guns if they have attachments with bigger fire rate or other stats. And if you find gun with stats:
Fire rate - 6
Reload speed - 3
Damage - 3
Recoil reduction - 3
You will actually use to make you legendary gun with increased fire rate and same for other stats, till you make all stats = 6
I think this will make gun farming more worth, we will need to check every gun that we see, not just look at the color they have, in order to create an ultimate badass legendary gun.

But, maybe it would be better if this system will be combined with upgradind the attachments themselves? For example Sniper rifle sights. If i have 6x scope, but i want to have 11x, then i could just ask Marcus to improve this, for money ofc. Like when you increase the ammo carrying capacity for Eridium, you could be able to upgrade your gun’s attachments till some level(let’s say till the purple colour). Marcus can’t provide you better parts unless you find them by yourself and bring to him so that he will upgrade your attachment to legendary.
Ofcourse we will have to do some quests to unlock better attachments (green, blue, purple) in Marcus’s shop.
So, we have improved our gun’s main stats. Now about accessories, like +150%crit damage. Maybe, there could be such new items like like class mod for characters. Let’s say you have found a gun mode with +100%crit damage +50% meele damage and the second one is +90% accuracy +50% recoil reduction. So you will have to choose which on to put on the gun. And, i guess common one should have 1 accessory; green - 2; blue - 3; purple - 4; legendary - 5
So in this way we will need to farm upgrades for weapon stats, but also farm weapon mods. This game was always about farming  i think that more farm will be good.

 • in this way we are farming pieces not only for 1 character, but for the gun, that any of our characters could use and also we could help our teammates to upgrade their guns faster.

@cyrax93 Wasn’t meaning you specifically – it just seems like the other one got forgotten when this one popped up, is all.

And that proposal is basically overlay of material onto base. The process is basically:

Base weapon:

 • DMG = 1000
 • ACC = 90%
 • ROF = 9.0
 • RLD = 3.2
 • MAG = 18 rounds
 • x2.2 zoom
 • +33% Critical Hit Damage

Material weapon:

 • DMG = 1000
 • ACC = 93%
 • ROF = 8.0
 • RLD = 2.9
 • MAG = 23 rounds
 • x4.7 zoom
 • +8% Critical Hit Damage

Post-enhancement, the base weapon’s stats will be:

 • DMG = 1000
 • ACC = 93%
 • ROF = 9.0
 • RLD = 2.9
 • MAG = 23 rounds
 • x4.7 zoom
 • +33% Critical Hit Damage
But, maybe it would be better if this system will be combined with upgradind the attachments themselves? For example Sniper rifle sights. Marcus can’t provide you better parts unless you find them by yourself and bring to him so that he will upgrade your attachment to legendary.Ofcourse we will have to do some quests to unlock better attachments (green, blue, purple) in Marcus’s shop.
Marcus is involved, and you pay him a mix of cash and whatever the game uses as unique currency to upgrade your gear.
As for rarity upgrading, I didn’t have that in mind as (IMO) it would defeat the core of Borderlnads – looting/farming.
So, we have improved our gun’s main stats. Now about accessories, like +150%crit damage. And, i guess common one should have 1 accessory; green - 2; blue - 3; purple - 4; legendary - 5
You’d be able to choose which ones to put on – or you can put 'em all on, although you obviously pay more for more attachments.
So in this way we will need to farm upgrades for weapon stats, but also farm weapon mods. This game was always about farming  i think that more farm will be good.
More or less, yes. And in this way, I think everyone can get equipment that they’re completely happy with.

@Raven_Ghosthawk Hmmm… So in the end, when we get a legendary, all we will try to do, is to get same guns and legendaries just to upgrade this one. But i think, that maybe, the only way to upgrade your gun is farming another 1000 guns, may not be the only option.
The more opportunities we get to enhance the gun the better in my opinion. And possibility to recieve some attachment as a loot is good too. Like some “elemental enhancer” that will increase the elemental power of a gun, or high calibre bullets to increase damage.
There are a lot of different varieties of gun’s upgrading system, but as i know from playing borderlands, the more different content we have, the better )) So, it might be possible to unite all proposed systems into one perfect one

So, lets look at this gun.

Main stats: Damage, accuracy, fire rate, reload speed, magazine size.
These are the stats that can be upgraded by spending the material gun.
But others here:
+50% love :D:D
+3000% damage
Firing increaes accuracy
These can not bet replaced to other guns by destroying this one. In my opinion, it would be nice to have a gun mode placed on a gun, which can be farmed as well. But maybe it is better to make such modes with only 1 stat, like: “+150%crit damage” or “+100% damage” and so on. But the gun will have limited “sockets” in it for these additions, so that you will have to choose what do you want to put on your gun.
I think, that it will make gun upgrading system balanced, and there will be no overpovered guns (or there will be, but to make them you will have to work hard). I just guess, that if you will be able to upgrade your gun only by using another one, it will be too easy to make the “perfect weapon”, so following my words, we will be like that:
“Hmmm, i have 2 “sockets” on the gun. What do i need for it? Fire rate and damage. Ok, need to find them”
After that you go and farm the fire rate enhancer… and then you farm damage enhancer.
In this case we will have some extra hours of gameplay and pretty balanced guns.
I hope

@cyrax93 When it comes to basic stats, it’s not the same gun that matters, but the same type of gun. For things on the item card that have a number, it’s all about the number(s).

NOTE: Any special red-text effects would not transfer as this would essentially be weapon-merging, and be pretty broken.

Case example: If I tried to overlay a Dahl Lascaux onto another SMG, I’d only get the Lascaux’s recoil elimination.

Also, I’m still not sure about getting attachments as the game spawns them, and I’m not following you with “gun mode”, so you’ll have to clarify on those. But I do think you got the picture with equipment having sockets for special traits, and having to carefully pick what you want.
As for the rest regarding farming, definitely.

@Raven_Ghosthawk I’m just saying, that maybe, gun upgrading system should be a little bit complicated  Not just like: “You want to upgrade your gun, then give me another gun with better stats” and so on…
I think that numbers on the card could be upgraded by using material guns, and these added numbers like:
+150% recoil reduciton
+150% crit damage
will be upgraded by other methods just to add more variety in game. ))

Something simple - a quick change button for grenade mods

@cyrax93 Sorry for still having a bit of comprehension problems, but if by the second sentence you’re talking about the current system, the game cannot give you a completely better gun unless it involves a rarity better than the one you have. If this isn’t the case, I think I’m gonna move on rather than remain hung up.

But my confusion aside, I agree with the system being a Goldlilocks level of complicated – difficult/complicated enough that it’s interesting, yet easy enough that it’s not a total turnoff.

@blastedsaber Or certain aspects of your loadout: Desires For Borderlands 3

One thing I would really like to see is a scaling in DLC. I know DLC comes after the game itself, but in the first two borderlands, the DLC had different level recommendations or requirements. Like there was a lvl 15 DLC for about midway through the storyline of the game, then a lvl 30 DLC for after the story was beaten or close to it. I would like to input that it would be really nice if the DLC after the main storyline would have different ‘level requirements’ or recommendations. Because the DLC that are meant for after completing the game usually have the same level requirements, they all have the same level enemies, and if the enemy levels do scale, the rewarded weapons did not. It would be nice if either both weapons and enemies scaled with the players level, or they all had separate level requirements.

Another idea I think would be cool is if there were certain challenges or bosses or something that would automatically reward you with either a good item/weapon, or just a unique skin, or a silly weapon like the Bane. The reward system felt really unrewarding during some playthroughs, and when you did find a legendary of some sort, you usually end up using it forever. Decent new weapons were always nice when they were consistent. Thanks

Scale it to the host, is all I’ll say.
