Honestly I think she just needs about a 10-15% buff on Sunspot’s base healing and she’d be great again.
Also now that her Ult doesn’t slow anymore, it could activate a bit faster, maybe 2 seconds off the drop delay. It’s still good wave clear and area denial, but it will never hit a half competant player.
Right now her support game is lacking compared to the other supports. She doesn’t do high damage, which is fine because she shouldn’t, but so it then comes to the point of asking, “why not play someone else?”[/quote]
Personally, I think Sunspots should be more powerful while both healing an ally and hitting an enemy (as in, they do more damage or healing on both for free rather than making it tick down faster). And there’s Ambra’s niche, supporting CQC. Fits perfectly with the Jennerit’s theme too!
The range reduction on her staff’s main attack was pretty unjustified too.
THAT’S IT. WIN A MATCH AGAINST. THAT WOULD SOLVE SO MANY PROBLEMS!!! Although we’d still have to address the lack of Ambra usage, but by the gods this would make life so much easier and better yet, not harm the game.
Ambra was actually in a GREAT place, before this recent nerf; and it has nothing to do with the slow on her ult. They nerfed her heat into the ground. Previously, her heat did close to 200 dmg per hit and emptied in a few swings. This was HUGE for her. She has almost no sustained damage, but the heat allowed her to do awesome, but reasonable burst damage. Now, after the ninja nerf, it does about half the damage, yet you can get twice as many swings in. This completely ruined her damage. She now does about 100 damage per swing, which would be the lowest DPS in the game besides her primary attack lol. Pound for pound she can not do enough damage to survive.
All they need to do is bring her heat back to where it was. She was in a great place. I’m not sure what they were thinking.
I concur. I’ve nearly stopped playing the game in part due to the range reduction done to her staff. If one thing is clear to me, it’s that Gearbox hasn’t been able to properly balance this game, or the characters in general for that matter. With 0 emphasis on teammakeup during character selection new or inexperienced players have a high probability of going with a “bad choice”, and the consequences are usually very unforgiving. I don’t even play league of legends, but a friend mentioned to me how their charavter selection system works. I won’t explain here because a simple Google search will do the trick if interested. But I’m sure many people know what I’m referring to. Something of that nature truly needs to be implemented. I also laughed out loud when I saw that some of the lore challenges require you to kill specific players up to 25 friggin times when you are ALWAYS OBLIVIOUS as to who your opponents will choose! xD
I’ve played a lot of Ambra, and I specifically don’t play her much in Versus just to stick it to Alani players. That and Ambra’s horrid primary range. Alani players will just have to live with no lore challenge and massive damage and heals, because, support character.
Healing minions is not a bad thing. Her ability to heal minions along with her great AoE is what makes her one of the best pushers in the game. Her healing is enough to keep your team mates topped off if you are smart about storing your sunspots. She is sort of a hybrid healer. She heals a pretty decent amount, but she is also able to mitigate damage by keeping the minion wave back and forcing the enemy to pull back behind choke points.
And besides, I usually still end up putting out 50-60k in team healing (70-100 total). That’s about on par with alanis team healing. Alani can mayve put out a bit more damage while healing, but ambra still hurts. Alani is getting nerfed anyways so whatever
Normally only play Story mode but gave incursion a try today and there was an Ambra lesson.
Ambra walked Montana with the minions each time, they totally dominated.
