I love his look, I love his weapon BUT right now as a character it needs dire improvement. Shouldn’t be hard to change and program for you.

Let me tell you why:

Battleborn is hectic and fast paced, Benedict is like a grandpa in a wheelchair. He’s got his rocket launcher which shoots, let me check the calendar, in a month or so and even when the rockets come, they are as needles that move with the speed of a choo choo train.

Currently it often occured that a hit with Q did not register and provided no mark. Secondly, I feel like he should be from the get go where he is by choosing 25% faster rocket speed and 45% bigger splash radius, it feels more natural and Unreal Tournament like. To bring it on par with other pushers (Oscar Mike), I’d say, increase base rocket speed by 15% and damage radius by 20% and decrease damage of rockets by 30%. That would make him an effective pusher like Oscar Mike is. Right now, he’s extremely clunky.

Q skill rework (please do it, very important thing):
The animation is slow (doesn’t bother me that much) and not logical (bothers me extremely, very much). Let me explain. The rocket HAS to fly in the direction after the animation ends. That would feel and be natural.
Right now, it looks like this (I have Quick skill shots enabled where I press only once):
I shoot Q, the animation starts, I quickly follow the target and the rocket goes where I was when I first started the animation. That is WRONG. This is a disparity that needs to be fixed so that the rocket flies after the animation ends and not at the press of Q button (or whatever the player has mapped). It will be logical and Q more effective.

F skill rework:
How does the rocket process damage? Often times even with a direct hit it does no damage or less than expected. Please check what is going on with this.

EDIT: This is noticable even when shooting his gun. You pres and turn at the same time and the rocket will fly even before the animation ends. This means if you turn for 90 degrees during that time, the rocket will fly in the other direction than when the animation ends. That is not how real guns work.

Um… I can’t say all too much because I use a controller but hawkeye (which i assume is Q, next time provide names so it is more clear to all players maybe) isn’t a damage dealing skill. Benedict is all about getting hits with his rockets (which on a controller is no problem, maybe you’re lagging? I mean, yeah you have to aim the rocket and it’s a slow projectile, but when i fire, it fires in that direction) And not really about burst damage.

I play beenedict, in fact I have mastered him already, my first mastery, and I can tell you, 20 and 1 games don’t happen if something is severely broken with when he fires rockets.

That said, it could be a problem with pc battleborn.

Definitely not lag. Check my thread in General Discussion. I posted a video about this. The problem is more general than just Benedict.

I’ll agree that he feels a bit clunky, but I think it’s intentional. I mean, with one Hawkeye followed up by a full clip of homing rockets is enough to outright kill anybody that isn’t a tank. With that kind of damage output, he can’t be easy to play… That’s how things become unbalanced.

All in all I agree with chaosolis, I get at least 15 kills every time I play him (he was my first mastery as well, woot). Maybe just get a little more practice in with him?

I should add that he took me quite a while to get used to. I thought he was too clunky when I first started out but I loved his kit and stuck with him, and eventually I figured out how to work around his animations and such.

Me too. Unlocked him in Open Beta, Couldn’t wrap my head around him.

Gave him another day in court in live release. After a few solo PvE runs, something started to click. Did some practice solo PvP stuff. LIKED it.

Dude’s my main now, even before the recent buffs. <3

Also, a music pairing recommendation for Benny: “Arkansas Toothpick”, Hogscraper.

Haha will check them out! But yeah this buff was too nice to Benedict. I think it’s a result of people who are unfamiliar with him feeling more obligated to post complaints. What gearbox doesn’t realize is there are already good benedicts out there that they just turned into gods. My first game with him after the buff was a worthy of song (rolls eyes)
