Yes man, it’s my favourite gun and it’s pretty much unusable right now (atleast for me) :frowning: All of my Butcher got an Handling nerf (one went from 87% Handling to 69% Handling), I guess it’s because of that. I don’t like to call it that way, but it’s probably another stealth nerf (here’s hoping for a bug).

Naw I just checked it out, the recoil is much worse then that accuracy change would suggest. This can’t be on purpose the weapon is unusable currently.

I just tried it out. It’s noticeably bad if you don’t ADS. On PC, I think it’s fine that you can mitigate the recoil by readjusting the aim quickly, but I don’t think it’s as forgiving on console. Guess they’re really invested into those accuracy and handling anointments.

I did ADS with it on PC. It’s just ridiculous recoil, not that I use a Butcher in the first place. But it felt horrible to shoot. Definitely nothing like last time I used one.

You can just about control the recoil if you ADS (though I love to hip fire with Hyperion weapons) but if you get terrified you can forget about it

I’m guessing you don’t have terror annointments that increase damage/fire rate or ammo regen. It negates the downsides of terror stacks.

We aren’t talking about with Terror. We are talking about just the normal recoil of the Butcher after this patch. It’s worse then pre-patch with Terror on you.

I know but 1) I don’t like terror and 2) I haven’t found a butcher with that anointment.

Off topic anyway - the recoil as standard is appalling now, it’s just even more negatively impacted by the ongoing event.

I had some with ammo regen, it didn’t negate anything while terrified, so when I shoot anything i see the sky. Dunno if that is an additional bug, but yeah definitely didn’t negate anything. I hate that terror crap, especially in story mode, really ■■■■ it!

Is it possible that it is affected by GR not functioning properly? I have 9.10% RR from GR, so that’s about 1 point of Moze’s Scrappy (assuming 1:1). Feels better, but not that much.

I use a mouse on PC and this recoil nerf of the Butcher makes it unusable now! Even in ADS I almost pull my mouse off the desk to control it and hip fire means immediate roof grazing. Really sad as this was a favorite situational weapon for me and I have many different variants of it. It would have been helpful for Takedown but I guess if they don’t fix this, it goes in the same garbage pile as the other weapons they nerfed … sigh.

I ADS on PS4 and after a few shots it’s manageable. Hip fire is crazy though and Terror will make it worse.

Didn’t play a few days. I can confirm that the Butcher is more or less unplayable after the patch. Tried all my variants of it. The recoil is just insane and the worst I’ve ever experienced in any game. Even with ADS and recoil management I miss alot of shots. Guess I have to wait for a patch, or just put all Butchers into the trash bin.

I don’t believe it’s on purpose. The way it is right now you can only use it with ADS and even then it’s hard to land more than two shots. Feel like roleplaying George Newman roleplaying Rambo in UHF now minus the part where everyone, even anyone, dies.

I’ve sent in a ticket and got good answers (this is just the last one).

"Thank you very much for sending that footage to me! I agree with you that changes like this require at least mentioning if they’re intended, because those can be gamechangers for people like you that rely on that for your builds.

We’ll investigate more on this to see if we can consider this as a bug report and if there’s any way we can report this to the devs.

I’ll start by escalating this to the competent department, and then we’ll see what we can do!

As soon as I get a response and the ticket is sent back to me, I’ll let you know everything we’ve discovered.
