Caldy's Kill 200 Enemies While Blinded Lore Challenge

Ok I am finding it is taking a surprisingly long time to complete the final lore challenge I have for Caldy, kill 200 blinded enemies.

Now I have just been trying to do it in Meltdown (sometimes Incursion, which I don’t play very often anymore thanks to wonderful Quick Match) and I always hunt down minions, flashbang them, and try to blow them up ASAP.

Now, I just found out a minute ago that the Blind only lasts for one second.

Not nearly enough tinecto flashbang and kill 4 minions and a shepherd.

So I’m thinking maybe I should finish, rather than initiate, with Flashbang, but I have heard that the challenge kills don’t register if you kill them WITH the flashbang rather than hitting them with a Flashbang and then killing them another way.

Any tips?

Thanks in advance.

My friend did it in Void’s edge at the final boss where it spawns all the skalks.

I also think you can’t take the bleed or they die.

One more thing, if you hold the sentry at the blocked doorway after he jumps through the temple, skalks spawn their in masses of like 7-10 or something. So if you never destroy the shard holding the door you can burn through like I unno 30-50 or something.

Thanks.

Any tips for doing it against Meltdown / Incursion minions?

I would focus on getting this in PvE instead of PvP. But here’s a tip; you don’t have to be the one to blind them, just the one that kills them.

What I recommend is go and do the renegade and build flash traps because they blind enemies. If you build up the traps at the last defend point you should be able to get most of your kills in one go by letting the weaker thralls get close to Caldarius instead of killing them as they spawn.

Honestly, no tips for pvp. It’s just too difficult as the odds of another team member getting the kill before you (against both minions and Battleborn) is too great.

I think it counts for the lore if you kill the enemy with the grenade, as I believe it applies the blind before the damage.

I’m not 100% sure, but I think you can farm this very easily and quickly on my go to level for lore grinding, the Algorithm, solo normal.

Kill Geoff, clear the next icy room of everything except the adult swarmers. Let them spawn a bunch of babies, kill babies with blind grenade (make sure not to hit the adults), rinse and repeat.

It’s been a very long time since I got that one, which is why I’m not 100% on if this works, but your grenades should wipe out a ton of swarmers babies in one hit. Because of the speed that the adults produce the babies, the lore would take no time as well. You could probably get upwards of 10-15 kills with one cooldown.

The only way in meltdown would be to kill the Shepard bots, weaken the little bots and hope your blind grenade kills them. This would take far longer than I would be willing to try though.

Hope this works for you!

Definitely do this in PvE. Incursion/meltdown minions are too strong to get them all killed while blinded, especially since caldy has no AoE attacks besides the flashbang itself. Always go for the triple flash barrage, because the challenge doesn’t count when you kill them with the grenade itself, but it counts if you kill them with the second or third grenade, and it reduces the first grenade’s damage, making it less likely for you to kill them that way. I did this challenge in the renegade, because primal thralls will be killed easily with the flash barrage, and you can get 3-5 at a time with one skill use. Otherwise, weaken enemies enough so that the barrage will kill them. Hope this helped!

To hard to gauge how weak they are

Just go play Renegade mission, select the helix that shoots 3 flashbangs and you should complete this challenge in one or two mission attempts.

For PVE: helix 1R for bleed damage, 4L for three grenades in a row. First grenade applies blind, other two finish off enemies. And go farm some lesser thralls or alike.

Thanks for all the tips, guys.

If I were to spend an afternoon in PVE I could legit master 6 characters.

Flash barrage and blind and bloodied. Take those helixes and go to renegade on the last defense point. The thing to remember is the initial impact of flashbang happens before the blind so they can’t die from the burst itself. Which makes the bleed and triple flashbang even better for this.
