I’m aiming this at the beautiful people behind this ultra amazing world of battle born.I am sure I’m not the only person that would like to have the option to invite friends into an already started story mission. I recognise that the game is set up in a way that accounts for the amount of players in a session, making it easier for players when some team members disconnect and increasing the enemies and ‘difficulty’ when the number of team members increases. With this system in place, it would be great if friends could join in at any point; maybe implementing the use of checkpoints and lives to regulate it somehow. Also, with regards to how leveling would work for invited friends, they could automatically be raised to the level of the invitee or to the level of the lowest team member. I think this would be a great addition to an already fantastic game and hope to see it eventually.
Just as a side note:
Levels in campaign are shared. Everyone is the same level (unlike competitive). This means that you don’t have to worry about how leveling would work.
And as for the primary thing:
When you quit (not disconnect) from campaign, you dialogue options say “Be aware that you are leaving this match and will not be able to rejoin.”
I would also like this. But only for Campaign.
The only question I have is: What happens to loot? Does the recently joined friend get all the loot or only the loot that he was there for?
Thank you for pointing that out Charlestmattson, I mentioned the leveling system because I noticed that it was possible to be a level or 2 ahead of your teammates if you open up all of the chests during the later phases of the game. With regards to loot, I believe it should be earned.
Hrm, since the Beta is effectively over, I’d have thought that the regular forum was the right place. I supposed we’re technically talking about our Beta experience though, so yea…
Since @charlestmattson was nice enough to cross link this related topic over in the thread I started I figured I’d return the favor and cross link to my related topic from this thread.
There’s been some good discussion there as well, though it doesn’t have great exposure because it’s under Single Player/Story Mode Discussion, rather than General Discussion.
In effect I’d like to see this implemented for Private Story Mode only to start, as the potential for abuse, trolling, etc… was too high for me to consider this an easy enough to implement feature otherwise. And I want to maximize the likelihood of receiving this feature, which means removing as many road blocks to its implementation as possible in the Request for it.
That’s not to say I wouldn’t love this feature implemented for all types of Story Modes however. =)
