Campaign tier list?

Granted he’s been adjusted since beta, he’s so S Tier that I had a friend who tried to play him in the beta and that’s what turned him off the game.

Direct quote: “I played the robot butler on the first level and it wasn’t challenging at all. Never buying the game.”

I won’t go rate every hero, but my top is: Marquis, Oscar Mike and Montana.

Marquis is a classic sniper, very effective and quite easy if you’re used to such gameplay. OM and Montana are both easy and effective and don’t require any special gaming skills, just pick them and melt faces.

Yup, something like this. But they nerfed him a bit recently.

Depends on mission and whether you’re running solo or in a group

IMO

EP 1: anyone with ranged attack, Oscar Mike, Thorn, etc

EP 2: this one’s about Aoe and shards, ranged or melee doesn’t matter, just keep a shield up on the sentry

EP 3: again, Aoe, doesn’t matter
Just be able to clear massive waves quickly

EP 4: solid aoe will get job done

EP 5: isic is a beast on this, his ultimate destroys the bosses in record time

EP 6: I found attikus to be useful here, lots of health, and hes great against the 1st boss, ranged can have issues with his shields
Melee do very well with turret support

EP 7:
ISIC is always a solid choice for his shield and ultimate, though I’ve found melee take out the Varelsi faster

EP 8: oscar mike for stealth, range, and aoe

Just my opinion

I bet Mellka could pull it off with her enhanced Spike altitude helix, but I’ve not tried.

You don’t even need the spike altitude. As Melka, I usually get up there by going over to the grey rock on the left of the jump pads and jump onto it. Then I jump, point my reticle into the sky and hit claw lunge. That’s usually enough to get me up there.

Other characters can do this as well, Phoebe teleport, Isic dash, Melka with Claw lunge, I think thorn can if you take increased jump hieght and lump from the box infront of the window then jump to the window (If she can so can rath with double jump but it will be more difficult since you have to time the jumps perfectly to get max jump height), Attikus can too with his pounce ability.

I do it by Claw lunge to the top of the fence (that fence with the energy field we need to switch off to get Wolf further) and then Spike to the platform.

My only reason for being a bit leery of Ambra on Advanced PvE is that she doesn’t have the critical hit mechanisms in place to quickly floor the big boppers you find there. Her AoE is unarguable, but she’s all on that tick damage.

Bully for this. The initial logic I used was that OM and WF were the game’s “Ryu and Ken.” Similar moves, but definite differences. I don’t even know how much that holds up anymore. Basically the only similarity is clones with rifles and grenades.

Sure, lots of guys can get up to the Thrall passage without the jump pads, I guess. I just thought of Caldy and Benny at first because they’re the ones I’ve played the most in the mission, I guess.

Kleese, Montana, ISIC (no idea after patch, though). The only thing you need in PvE is sustained damage.

The best solution is the following: Marquis with lvl 10 RIGHT helix can shoot through the barrier/walls from below. Second best: Pendle/Deandle stealth past the mobs

Caldarius any day, every day.
However, I think I play something else than you guys, I don’t find Avanced so difficult you need any team composition to get through it.

Only with his ult.

Yes I meant using the ultimate. The lvl 10 helix only augments his ultimate anyway.

…Understandable and I’m not going to defend Atti on Helio for that last part but…
I found a way for Atti to handle that blade spin and it works pretty good.

  1. Lure Rendain to the top of the Verelsi area, stay there by that one column, just to the left of it.
  2. Get in his face, barrage of skills, and when his blades knock you up point your pounce down and land a hit.
Over and over, and over again.

It’s kinda fun and doesn’t take long.

…Let me ask Pendles

Makes me wonder why the question isn’t, “Who is generally DETRIMENTAL in PvE, and why?”

Because we, for the most part, could take a hero’s potential to the near limits in PvE and excel. Of course, some are more lethal than others.

But I’m sure there were those instances where when a certain character is selected, the chances of failure drastically increased.

In Saboteur Patch 1.0.3 with only 2 turrets, if there is a Deande without ISIC or Kleese, the game is pretty much over unless the Deande knows how to duplicate clones. Deande was too slow in attack speed, resulting in low DPS, which was something the team couldn’t afford when the RNG spawning gives multiple Disruptors, Defilers, Brutes, and other major Varelsi Deande couldn’t kill fast enough.

I only knew 2 devious guys who could pull off excelling with Deande at Patch 1.0.3. I wasn’t one of them because I’m an idiot.

Nowadays, it’s Pendles. It’s not really that Pendles is bad, it’s more like how people end up playing him. They dash towards the end of the map, taking all shards, spawning all enemies, and then they rush at the team to kill obliterate the visible people with overwhelming numbers.

There are a few others, but I’ll leave my post short for now.

Basically it’s just “there is no role of an assassin/harasser in PVE because there is no one to assassinate/harass; you just have to kill everything and do it fast and right now”.

Ambra is amazing. I find I’m topping the charts with Caldarius and never dying, especially on defense missions. With three pieces of regen gear (white, Vyn’s Quiver, etc) he doesn’t drop. And I can ult to go in, save someone’s life, and Dash back out

This, Caldarius is awesome on most missions

On Saboteur Advanced, I never died. I was always at full health. I hadn’t had such a good run even with Thorn. Then I realized every run was like that.

I’m not even guessing on a tier list, just giving my experiences.

  • Miko is surprisingly great in PvE, even solo. Very survivable as long as you keep an eye on your HP gauge and Biosynthesis cooldown timer. Also specs into DPS quite competently. Invaluable on teams.

  • ISIC destroys in PvE. I mean wreckage. It’s not pretty. He’s tough, mobile, survivable, and strong. The only thing he can’t do is heal himself, but you can make up for that with gear.

  • As qualified by @Kitru and others, Thorn is very solid in PvE if you have the patience and practice with her unique primary weapon. Her abilities are all grossly useful, so if you can land primary shots while waiting on them to cool down, you’ll do well. Her superjump also allows her to sneer at trap puzzles in the Sentinel mission.

  • Caldarius is plenty solid in PvE if he brings regen gear or there’s a competent healer on the team. He’s mobile enough to contribute anywhere he needs to be, has solid DPS and some burst potential with his Ult, and has enough HP to take a couple of hits.
