BTW if stirring up legit blood feuds over fictional characters is what I have to do to keep interest in Battleborn alive, then that’s what I’ll do.

I’m on Xbox mainly, though I also have the game on a PC that has no business trying to run it. Shame because I’m itching to take him and his bear buddy down a peg.

A blood feud with dwarf would require that the dude has blood to begin with, and I personally suspect he runs on pure saline

They also said that the maps are going to have ‘lots of verticality’, so characters with high mobility are probably going to be top picks IMO. I know that I’m going to have fun figuring out all of the new potential places where I can use Deande’s jump kick.

“Optimized” as long as you want to play PVP. Oh, I forgot; Battleborn is a PVP game with a side-order of story mode.

As it should be!
I can’t even play Borderlands anymore after 1000’s of hours fighting the same predictable AIs over and ooooooovvvveeerrrr again across the 3 titles.

isn’t that how it’s always been?

Some attention should have been paid to the PVE component of the game or at least some acknowledgement that it is first and foremost a PVP game and the PVE component would be limited.

Sorry, should have been more clear - the unpredictable human opponent element of Battleborn PVP is what separates it from the AI drudgery (which was still amazing) of Borderlands.
It’s why I’ve sunk almost 1500 hours into Battleborn and did literally just enough PVE / story to do the Platinum Trophy requirements, secure a few Legendaries, and grind out some Lore challenges that were annoying to accomplish in PVP.

Could a shooter engine as simplistic as Battleborn’s really have survived if it were marketed and managed as a PVE game, though? It’s hardly Destiny.
I mean yeah it hasn’t exactly survived well as a PVP game either, but the PVE side really shows the game’s shortcomings against its competition.
(edit: you’re right that the game’s story mode felt a bit over-hyped / misrepresented, though, and that wasn’t fair on players who paid for PVE)

Since it was marketed as both PVP and PVE, both should have been supported equally.
I appreciate your last edit.
Happy for the folks who like PVP, but it doesn’t seem like it does that very well either.

The Mini Match Queue (3v3 with all 5 modes) sounds like the future of Battleborn.

It was barely marketed, and come on, PvP has always truly been the main focus. Maybe in very early trailers they showed PvE stuff, but that was before people even knew what the game was really about. I mean, the Bootcamp trailer has at least 90% PvP focus and each DLC character trailer shows numerous kills in PvP… I still agree with Eden’s edit statement though.

Same with Thorn’s Burst Propulsion

I believe you are totally correct that PvP has always been the main focus. I don’t agree that the trailer reflects that. I just watched it again and it definitely says you can play either way.
I’ll admit I didn’t watch the trailer and make notes about how many times the Battleborn were fighting Rendain’s troops and how many times they were fighting each other.
I’m not sorry I purchased the game; I’ve played it for 1,947 hours as of this writing and will probably play a few hours more completing dailies. I’m just disappointed that there’s so little content that I can play “my way.”
