And nowhere in any of that quote is any sort of demand for a minigun. Iāve repeatedly said, over and over again, Iām open to other methods to achieve my request.
And they have a woman in a mech suit that has heavy firepower. She can eject from it, and it has a turret option if she ejects before itās destroyed.
And a woman in flying power armor with a rocket launcher, or something like that.
Thereās like⦠3 unique tanky, high firepower women at least in that game.
Still, it doesnāt take away from Battleborn. Iām still looking forward to the beta as I have it preloaded. I suspect Iāll find a main, or two to enjoy. Iām eager to see the potential the game has.
People just picky always will be quick search through the forums will show. hard to make a game and please everyone all at once
still 4 more characters left anyways weāll seeā¦
Please donāt use this forum to discuss other forum users.
Use it to discuss games, thanks.
I think itās interesting to consider what they havenāt done.
Minigun, rocket launcher, rail gun, assault rifle, shot gun, sniper, bow, plasma gun, slightly different assault rifle, pistol, SMG, whatever caldarius uses, kunai, shockwaves, boomerang, Linkās sword shooting thing, fan blades. I think I hit all the projectiles. Exit: throwing shield and throwing axe as well
So really I canāt think of any female heavy armored character they could create with a unique heavy weapon. Heck, Iām having trouble thinking of how theyāre going to make another 5 characters that donāt tread on other character design edit:and not being accused of copying another games character
There seems to be confusion. The Bunker was a flying fortress and in fact not a woman.
Iām certain youāre not talking about Ellie because;
A) Sheās plenty hot to plenty of people, and her not being your type doesnāt make her ugly.
B) Scooter reads these forums.
OK, you got me. I give up
Scooter is reading these? Last I heard he caught a rideā¦maybe miss springs is though
I am sure they could come up with something the thing is most people here are criticizing the Creator of this thread saying she wants something like Montana as a woman. That is not what she wants Gearbox is extremely creative and even one of the employees have said they will see what they could do. The world is extremely large and ideas of a new type of weapon or something is not unheard off. This game is wacky as is whos to say it cant get a little wackier.
These forums are about sharing ideas as well as concerns and wants. The Creator wants a heavy gunner woman not Montana there are plenty of ways to get around that idea so please stop being so critical against her.
Tales Spoiler
Why must I have my heart re-broken so early in the morning?
shhh Giu go back to bed wake up when your heart stops hurting.
I agree that most people are sticking with the minigun idea she threw out, and itās been clarified thatās not a request but an idea.
The critical part does come in though when thereās requests for what she wants and it does exist in different characters. As stated above, thereās 3 assassins for both men and women. The idea that all the women are shown weak isnāt fair as itās very balanced between guys and girls and penguins in terms of roles and looks. And added in a later post by me, I canāt even imagine how theyāre going to make unique characters going forward as it is because theyāve covered so many different character archetypes and weapon types.
Edit: lasers. Could totally do more lasers
I was going to agree with you fully about having two characters that are similar without being clones, but my example was Oscar Mike and Whisky Foxtrot who are literally clones. However, you are right. They use similar mechanics, but one is better at stealth and the other can be slightly better at countering stealth.
I think there are plenty of interesting and fun ways to make a fun bulky female ranged tank. Having a magic user that returns damage inflicted on her as one of her core abilities would be cool. She would take everything the world throws at her and send it right back.
The only thing Iād like to add to this discussion would be if itās a female character, can we have something non-human? Most of the Battleborn are really cool, but for an entire universe of displaced alien species thereās a lot of Star Trek wrinkly forehead syndrome. Characters like Miko and Kelvin show how diverse the universe can be and some people are preoccupied with which gender/skin colour/gender identity our humanoid cast have. I do not mean this as disrespectful to the OP since sheās been very reasonable about the different archetypes this female ranged tank could fill. I just think people are pushing for diversity, letās go the whole hog. I find Miko particularly interesting since it is described as the last of itās race. What does that mean to a fungus creature? Why can it not reproduce from spores? Could Miko split itself up (as effectively end itself) to create more of itās kind? I think beings like that make for interesting characters that can still have the traits people are looking for.
I apologise if this sounds offensive, I just think a universe of creatures could be stranger than what we have seen so far. (Bearing in mind like I said, I think the current cast are fantastic)
I donāt mind an alien woman. Iām open to pretty much anything Gearboxās brilliance can come up with.
Iām not offended by the post at all.
Reasoning prevails once again hurrah for a great community.
Think out of standard shooter weapons, revolvers, flamethrowers and perhaps the crossbow (though few shooters will have both a bow and crossbow with distinctive differences between the two - theyāre mostly different skins in role as far as things go) are about all thatās left. Thereās also not a grenade launcher as a dedicated main weapon, though there are plenty of functionally similar grenade/grenade-like abilities (though I donāt think thereās any grenades with the classical throw-and-bounce-off-walls capability in the game, but it seems to me that making use of that wouldnāt come up much in the gameās maps from what Iāve seen). A semiautomatic long-range rifle doesnāt exist either, but that role probably wouldnāt come up in a game along with an accurate three-burst rifle like Whiskeyās, save for shooters with freakinā tons of guns to bother making such similar weapons.
Out of melee weapons, they donāt have spears and hammers/maces. If they wanted to go nuts, they could make a Battleborn whose real weapon is the bayonet attached to their gun, close enough to a spear
Iād expect a new melee Battleborn to use a hammer, personally.
Good points. As long as the characters are balance, Iād be fine.
I didnāt initially agree with you, but the more replies I read, the more Iāve come to agree that what your looking for hasnāt been added and certainly could be.
The fact that youāre looking for a female character that is a ranged tank is 100% okay. I think itās important to be able to relate with your character- one of the reasons I really like Rath despite being awful with him. (No, Iām not a vampire.)
I play almost exclusively Rath because heās the character I can most relate to that still has my play style (kind of). All of the other characters whose play style I love are female. Ambra, Deande, and Phoebe are all characters who I really enjoy playing as, yet I donāt because the relation factor is missing. Iām kind of an opposite you, in a sense, being that I enjoy assassin and support characters, but donāt like guns so I tend to stay away from Oscar Mike and Whiskey Foxtrot.
So what would I do if there wasnāt a Rath? If there wasnāt a male assassin with melee? Iād be here in the forums asking for a melee assassin, of course. And there would be people that told me āHeād just be another Phoebe.ā or āJust play as Deande.ā
So what point am I trying to make with all this nonsense? OPās character absolutely can fit in the game without overlap onto Montana or Isic, and itās perfectly reasonable of her to ask.
With all of that said, I actually think Battleborn does a pretty good job gender-diversity wise.
I would personally love to see a juggernaut woman character. I mean, did you see Zarya from Overwatch? Hawt ( ͔° ĶŹ ͔°)
(Note; I am being serious.)
This is the kind of reasoning I saw at first when I looked into this thread. It seems that as this discussion has continued I rationalize that after explanation people tend to think that the idea of a heavy ranged women character isnāt a bad idea.
Thank you for your rational thought I am sure people other than me in the community realize the brilliance of your statement.
