The lore challenges actually unlock some pretty interesting stuff, so you might want to try some of those (although a lot of them are a huge pain in the ass)
Don’t salt the wound lol - I would like nothing more than to unlock the lore challenges, it’s just that soooo many of them require either:
- On a team with a specific character (or even character(s) or faction), some of which also qualify WINNING that match/mission (i.e. Thorn’s).
- Stoopid ways you need to kill other players in PVP (which I DESPISE…).
- Killing things in a specific way WHILE on a team with a specific character (best worst of BOTH worlds!).*
*Best example here is Caldarius needs to get a ton of kills with his melee ability WHILE on a team with Rath. While this can be done in PVE, it’s asking for 150 kills with his Energy Blade (essentially the same as any character’s melee bash attack) for a character that both REALLY shouldn’t be in melee range, AND at least one other melee character in the fray… T_T
Caldarius is the only character I have done all the lore challenges for. It wasn’t too painful except for that one, which was a huge pain in the ass, but all the pve did help with my character level. I think the most offensive one is Attikus’s challenge, where he has to crit Rendain with a charged hook 12 times. That’s ridiculous for so many reasons. The most frustrating thing about this issue is that it’s not really something that I see them patching. At least, as a student with very few summer plans, I know I’ll have something to do.
While that is absurd, I think a worse one is Toby’s: Get 10 double kills-with his “Core Discharge”.

Also, I really hate PVP… a lot, so I’ve only finished one character’s lore challenged completely - Ambra (probably one of the few if not the only character than can be completed soely in Story Missions, and at the very least the only one of em that I actually like lol.).
I have Thorn and Galilea at 4/5, and refuse to grind my face into a wall trying to complete their PVP ones. I do not find PVP “fun”, and thus I have no intentions of trying to complete them…
Also, I tried both of their legendaries back in the Open Beta (where you could just find them randomly as loot), and was not impressed, so… n.nU

Benedict, Rocket Jump Professional. Glide for 3 hours (10,800 seconds).
Attikus, In His Face. Land 12 critical hits on Lothar Rendain with Charged Hook.
Boldur, The Runes That… Self-heal 10,000 damage using the shield while using Runes of Power
Galilea, Dark Knight of the Soul and Arbitration. Regenerate 10,000 damage with Abyssal Form and block 25,000 damage with the shield.
Kelvin, Micro Macro Mist Me. Stun 3 enemy battleborn with Sublimate simultaneously, 25 times.
Kleese, Slow, Not Dead. Kill 500 enemies affected by Black Hole.
Montana, The Hearty Son of Aplia. Take 1,000,000 damage.
Phoebe, Addonexus. Deal 2,000 damage in a single use of Blade Rush.
Thorn, The Last. Win “The Archive” on Advanced difficulty without losing any lives.
Whiskey Foxtrot, Say Mike Again. Get 500 kills with his quick melee attack.
Just some examples of challenges that can be very annoying.
This one is actually really easy. If you just play her, you’ll get them, especially the shield one. But holy ■■■■ glide for 3 ■■■■■■■ hours as Benedict? That’s just straight ■■■■■■■■. The Phoebe challenge is just a matter of knowing how to do it, and I don’t think the Montana one would be that bad because you don’t need to focus on it. But ya a lot of those are pretty rough.
Sounds an awful lot like XCOM.
Eh the Archive on Advanced for Thorn wasn’t hard. I played it solo and didn’t even die. This is coming from a guy who didn’t play Thorn since the CTT

Lol Me to kind of! My first time ever playing thorn I did a solo on archive just for fun and stomped it
I found one of Ghalt and Kleese’s kittens and he is a detective. Also he takes after Kleese.
It’s in WF lore too. At the end of the transcript talking about him buying his rifle there is a note from Deande saying she is looking forward to taking his clothes off.

I got the boldur rune heal one before I was rank 4 with boldur. You heal so much with it if you play right it takes no time at all pvp or pve

I would like to see a book published for the lore. Starting with the stone to the ending with character lore/facts included. Not just core characters but Geoff and planets. Gahlt says in the post tutorial cut scene hey let’s go help other factions and gain their support but it just kinda ends there…TELL ME ABOUT THESE FACTIONS
if they make a sequel i think theyll put more effort into the missions i really think they misjudged how much people enjoy story missions. i would enjoy some kind of collector book as well

Rise of the Thrall: “Rendain is defeated, and his Heliophage destroyed. Solus temporarily Darkened, but then recovered from the Void through the destruction of the Heliophage.”
Lack-luster… I get it but I want a bit more story than that and feel a sort of publicationw would fill in a lot of gaps.
