Yeah I got a ticket number. And I will be contacting Sony ASAP. Thanks for the reply.
Got a reply people. Itās official they say just cloud save everything and download, which Iām not happy about but heyho. But I will be back if it goes wrong and anything gets deleted.
Not working for me with PS Plus.
Well OP says the upload/download overwrites alsoā¦
This describes transfer to USB and upload to on-line storage:
And this has the equivalent instruction for downloading from on-line storage:
yes this works but overwrites any other save games on the system being uploaded to, so not useful unless only running a single character between both systems
If each character is registered under the same account then yes. If you really want to have access to all characters under the same account, youāll have to start a second one on one of the systems and move both at the same time. Unfortunately, thatās just how Sony have set their system up.
Iām trying to understand how it overwrites your saves if youāre playing on one PSN account? Even if there are 10 different PSN accounts on one system it will not touch their saves (yes I have 10 PSNs for an Elder Scrolls Online guild bank/storage).
I switch between 2 PS4s daily - side by side - and also another PS4 (all in the same house) often. With 4 characters and 6-8 mules on 2 different accounts. This is utilizing cloud saves and/or USB drives. Each time I overwrite with the latest game Iām playing so not losing progress on anything.
Just trying to understand as a programmer, how itās possible you are losing your saves. Are you copying the āUser Settingsā file each time as well or only the character save?
I believe they may have started a different character on the same profile on each PS4 without first using the cloud sync. So now thereās a different set of saves on each console, and cloud sync doesnāt have a merge function.
yes this is the problem
My friend is having the same problem, he started a character on his account at my place, and now he canāt get that character on his home / cloud without overwriting his primary.
Iād hoped renaming the save files on the USB would work (as theyāre named ā1ā, ā2ā, etc), but that didnāt work either. Something in the data must recognize both characters as slot 1.
Would love a solution to this.
Unfortunately itās just the way the PS4/PS+ save/cloud system works. If you want to play the same saves on different consoles you have to have uploaded to the cloud on the last console you used before shutting down. Then you can download all saves to the one you want to use; then uploadā¦
Go to system storage management an copy the game to a USB. Then paste it on the other ps4
So I figured out how to do it without wiping your other character saves.
When you upload the save data to the PSN online storage make sure you upload all character files from both ps4s that way when you go to download your character you get all of them and you donāt lose any files.
Hope that helps
