Cannot play offline (Series X)

I’m trying to play offline so I can use the new Shlooter artifact without the nerf hotfix but my xbox tells me I need to be online. I thought BL3 can be played offline? Is this a BL3 issue or an Xbox Series X issue?

I can technically play offline by starting the game while online and then going offline before the hot fix is applied, but after playing for a few minutes the game stops and forces me back to the dashboard telling me I need to be online to play.

I’ve had this issue before (I don’t recall if it was with BL3 or other games), I think it’s the Xbox that’s causing the problem. Hard resetting my Xbox has always fixed it in my experience.
