Can't claim Broken Hearts Day rewards. Where is the display in "Events" section?

They never went in to the mailbox - all the rewards went directly into your backpack or unlocked cosmetics pool.

@thatwdbme - I think it’s still a bit too early to hear back on this issue. PAX East is looming Thursday, which is when hotfixes/updates normally drop. So if there is something GBX can do for those who missed redeeming the rewards for whatever reason, my guess would be that as the earliest for an announcement.

This is the first event I’ve ever fully participated in, so I didn’t know how the rewards would be distributed. But it’s sounding like the vets are just as confused. This takes me back to my earlier point that the process needs to be made clearer across the board. Or maybe just reward the items as they are earned to the backpack or mailbox, and if it made our backpack quantity go over the max so be it. Why have the extra step of physically claiming the reward? Earn and reward, period. At least if they went directly to the mailbox we would know for sure we got them

As far as it being too early for them to address the situation I don’t know that I buy that, but I get where you’re coming from. Whether they can do something about it right away is a different discussion. But in my opinion they could have got ahead of this at least made a statement that discloses they’re looking into it. I don’t think that’s unreasonable, unless it’s far fewer people affected than I believe, which I doubt based on the seemingly abrupt ending of the event.

They have - Noelle posted about it during the week.

Can you add a link to that here? I’m new to the gearbox community.

Can’t find the specific post right now - it’s probably buried in the pile - but this is from a PM response to my raising the issue (so you’ll just have to trust me that it’s genuine!):

I know they are aware, but I haven’t seen anything from a resolution standpoint yet. Anyone else?

I never understood why the BHD replaced the Bloody Harvest event in the Event tab. Why not have both visible, and let us scroll up and down to select one, and claim rewards from it. That way, there’s no time limit to claim the rewards, and gearbox can just toggle events on and off as they become available, rather than having new hotfixes and patches. We could have several seasonal events on the list, and progress would be resettable in the menu, to allow people to earn rewards multiple times.
They’d still be able to make adjustments, like adding the enable/disable switch, but we’d keep track of our progress and claim rewards when we want them.

If the primary purpose of the displays are to collect rewards, then I agree both should be available. But if it has to be one or the other, why shouldn’t it be the Broken Hearts display that represents the last actual event? Bloody Harvest has been over for the greater part of 3 months; if the rewards haven’t been claimed by now I’d argue GB could accurately claim you’ve had enough time at this point. Broken Hearts wasn’t over 2 hours according to previous posts, and I was already locked out of the chance to claim those rewards. Whatever the technology issues are surrounding this issue, the issue makes no sense from a common sense standpoint.
Ultimately, these rewards should be automatic…I earn, you grant the reward instantaneously in my backpack or mailbox. The weapons were level-locked anyway so they would stand out. I’m guessing this could cause some issues too, but I believe in keeping things simple for us consumers.

@VaultHunter101 have you received any updates yet? I appreciate your insight by the way.

No, I haven’t. Although honestly I probably wouldn’t hear anything before anyone else as I am not privy to GBX internal conversations.

If there’s any truth to this, we may have our answer. Not sure but I thought I’d share. BS if accurate, seems like such an easy fix. Wth?! :expressionless::man_shrugging:t4:

I would have preferred they shared the actual correspondence but who knows…

I think I’ve seen others post that 2K support said they couldn’t do anything. Which is accurate, in so far as support staff literally can’t provide a fix or solution, only pass on the incident reports to GBX. It’s really in the hands of GBX staff and developers at this point.

I hope they don’t sit on this. They have to know a lot of people were affected, not only those like myself that didn’t know what to do to claim the rewards, but for those like sub_zero who followed the procedures and still didn’t claim their rewards. At the very least, make the items farmable, which I heard was a no-go for the weapons at this stage.

Why wouldn’t they correct this is my million dollar question? My two million dollar question is why in the world is the Bloody Harvest display still in the way, at the expense of the Broken Hearts event that hasn’t been over a full month yet? Seriously the event ended 3 months ago. It’s mind boggling!

I should just prepare for this to go nowhere so I can move on sooner than later, but I put a lot of time in between two characters and I, like others, feel robbed. It’s a head scratcher for sure.

So they are really going to go with the If We Don’t Address it Publicly it’ll Go Away tactic, aren’t they? :man_shrugging:t4::man_facepalming:t4::face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

In fairness, it does appear GB gave all the rewards for the last two holiday fests away recently. I don’t believe it was both weapons but the assualt rifle was nice. I don’t believe it was for both characters I did Broken Hearts for, but I didn’t complete any Bloody Harvest events execpt a couple, so I guess it’s a wash, so to speak. Better than nothing at all, I suppose.
