I just bought the game and am unable to install both games. All i get is a black screen saying “Manage Borderlands:The Handsome Collection” :frowning: I hope this gets fixed ASAP because i want to play with my friend.

Exactly my problem, how long has this been out and no ones noticed this yet. Ps4 version installs and plays no bother. What the heck Xbox?

It must have been a bug introduced when the most recent patch came out. Which blows for all the new players.

This is something new. I used the disk game and can tell you that as of 5/14 it was working fine (visited family that weekend and clicked on the disk to start it only to go to the manage). I checked on the day the thread was created an my manage came up blank.

Have same problem. Game was given to me as a gift shrink wrapped.

Mine will install/read other discs fine. But not this one. :(((

Honestly it’s as if the system thinks the disc is empty.

Seriously would love help on this. Ticket put in to gear box.

Someone needs to edit the topic thread to include the handsome jack pack in totality will not install. Obviously It be broken.

For your information.

This is a bug in the current version of the Xbox OS and has been fixed with todays beta OS update for people in the xbox preview programme.

DETAILS

OS version released: xb_rel_1506.150526-2200
Available: 6:00PM PT 5/27 (2AM GMT 28/5)

CHANGES

Fixed an issue where certain types of disc-based bundled games would not properly install.

It´s currently unknown when this OS update will roll out to everyone.

Hopefully it comes soon… been missing borderlands 2 since I moved to the xbox one and now that I was able to get it this happens it’s driving me nuts I just wanna blow things up! lol

Ditto on that here too…in beta. Had a friend test…it works on his…dunno if he’s in beta either. Will get back to you on that

Edit: looks like beta update is coming waves…I’ll make sure to push mine when it’s available.

I hope so! i am craving some of that classic borderlands chaos right now. makes me wish i could of got it when it was first released instead of waiting until now with all this lol

We just heard back from Microsoft, and it sounds like the preview program upgrade should fix the install issues you folks are having with The Handsome Collection.

No word on when that update is rolling out other than “soon”.

Let us know if you continue having issues after the update hits!

Ok so here’s the low down

I had a friend test it on his xb1 - no issues.

I updated to the new preview version tonight - it’s installing! Yay!

If you are not running version 1506.150526-2200 and you are on the preview… You need to go to settings > system > update system

If you are not on the preview - you should not be having this problem.
Unless Microsoft f’d up and there’s a rogue patch.

Generally the length of time is an average (brace yourself) 1-3 weeks when things like this happen.

If you got the issue and your not on preview…check for an update system option and do it now,

Otherwise you’ll have to wait for the update to roll out.

Officially I can declare this an xbox operating system issue at this points far as I’m concerned.

Calling support will not help unless your stuck on update issues.
Asking for preview access is a waste of time as they only allow additions on the next major wave and not the one in progress, in other words you’ll have anew system update before you get in the preview…if you get in that is,

You are spot on… I had to wait until around 8 pm central time but I did get it and everything installed smoothly and is running amazingly well

Can you post your xbox os version please?

That way we know which one works for “live” version of the dashboard and gearbox will know too.

Here’s a “standard” main stream Xbox OS version.

You need at least version 1505.150507-2219 minimum.

Seems like this is back now, just bought the game and i cannot install the game, i guess I’m stuck with a £40 coaster until another update rolls out and hope it works then…
