I realize many folks are clamoring for the Cartel event to drop ASAP. However, I have some work and vacation scheduling conflicts for the next few weeks so if you could please hold the release until on or after:

It would be much appreciated!!! Going to be a sad panda if I miss 3 of 4 weeks of the event… 
All the bugs in this game, and we’ve never had one where the timed event(s) last longer than scheduled. Keep those priorities in order, GBX!

Lol how much time would it take to nerf a gun? That’s definitely not the reason.
Theoretically, not longer than it should take to make an event reward trigger properly, and they still had to turn the Wedding Invitation into a world drop because they couldn’t figure out how to get it to work before the event ended.
Id like it perma cuz i have the most fun with the additional spawns
Cartels will be back June 24. In the meantime we will get Trials mini event.
Interesting loot choices for week 1:
So folks without the DLC can now snag a Lucky 7 if they’re “lucky” enough to beat the Trial of Survival (Gradient of Dawn if you’ve already unlocked it). A beefed-up Skag of Survival it is, then.
Nope because they say that if you don’t own the dlc, you can’t equip DLC gear…

Misread the blurb - you’re right, although you will still have it in your inventory/bank should you later decide to get the DLC. I guess they’re trying to drive more season pass sales.
My bet is Pearl will be a reward in Fervor trial.
Any ideas how long Cartel event will last? Its start aligns too perfectly with my planned vacation…

OPQ’s real damage was from the shock splash…
It still doesn’t beat any of the weapons I mentionned. I love it and will use it when it’s back, amazing AR and fun to use, but it’s no longer an incredibly OP option considering all the bs that’s been added to the game imo.
More temp raid bosses/takedowns. Neat!
And Revengance of Revenge of the Cartels? Sounds like we can expect some changes to the event…
Can this forum have a dislike button for terrible/frustrating news? It does suit a situation like this.
By the 24th of June the event will be 2 months late, for what essentially is a flip switch on Gearbox’s end, along with some minor adjustments to gear.
DLC6 is not that long, it’s barely more than 4 Ava missions, a raid boss locked behind a expensive in-game paywall and weeklies/dalies that mostly award cosmetics, cosmetics are useless on FPSs and even more useless when Matchmaking is so dead that no-one will ever see your character either.
The event could have come just a couple of weeks after DLC6’s release and they would co-exist perfectly.

Seems to imply that there is a patch coming up on 6/24 with other stuff .
When I mentioned the OPQ being nerfed as the reason for the delay, I was just joking. They did already nerf it at level 57 when they reduced the benefit of the shock splash. I don’t recall if that affected all players or just Zane’s clone (who got the greatest benefit from it).
In reality what they may be doing is adding more content to it–e.g., maybe turning Joey into a raid boss type enemy. Given many can already clear all content fairly easily without the OPQ there is no real reason to nerf it if it gets a level 65 variant. And as for the Yellowcake, that was totally nerfed before and was largely ineffective after that–unless they buff it I don’t see a reason to switch from a Backburner back to the Yellowcake.
Wasn’t there a time when one of the events was left on a week or so longer for some reason? I think it was because the hotfix they were going to release that week wasn’t quite ready.
