I don’t personally support it, but I’m still pushing for the playstyles and it would fit the Empress. And Kelvin kills Miko and Reyna kills Toby. Just throw into her lore an exchange where Rath vows to kill her, because she’s no longer the Empress but some Varelsi beast, and good to go.

Realistically, the Jennerit despise the Varelsi and consider themselves cleaner than the remainder of the populace. Just throw in lore about how they don’t trust or admire her as she’s now mostly Varelsi, but still enough where she can be on the team.
When you say reyna kills toby lore wise, you mean without berg right? (Also what do you mean it is canonical (they never killed each other)
Rendain’s daughter wouldn’t work, in my opinion, since he never makes any mention to anyone who might be important to him, or family, and why would no one have known about his daughter, and the possibility of her turning against Rendain. (I mean, Lenore could apparently predict the future and there was no mention of that whatsoever)
Now the Silent Sister part I can support, since there is a member of the Order named Benniteg, and that starts with the letter B, as was hinted. It is the only Jennerit character I know of that starts with a B, so it could be someone completely new.
Now, as for you, @epicender584, I’ve played Kelvin and killed a Miko (bot) before, and he shouts out an extended no, so I highly doubt it was anything close to him wanting to, seeing as how they are besties. I just cannot believe Ambra or Deande would ever harm the Empress, because they never stopped supporting her. Lenore is honestly too large of a plot point for them to have playable, in my opinion, it would be just like letting people play Markus in Borderlands, or Moxxie, or Ellie, or any of the Major NPCs.
It honestly seems to me that you’re mostly fishing for reasons to have her as a character, if the Jennerit are still loyal to the Empress, why would they suddenly not trust her if she were to return from the void? Since you go to the void in the second and last story missions, and there are absolutely no physical abnormalities on any of the characters. It could be proportional to the time spent there, but nothing in the brief span of time the players spend there clings to them or alters their appearance in any way shape or form.
I do apologize for poking holes in your theories, but me doing so should hopefully make them stronger, and if not then maybe the theory wasn’t thought out too well. (I will also accept I told you so’s if it actually turns out to be Lenore)

Oops I put canonically in the wrong place.
I really don’t think it will be her. For some inane reason I still support those who do. If she was in there long enough, and people thought that’s where you go to die, and as discussed, presumably is mostly Varelsi, they would have good reason to be wary. And yes, Kelvin has like three lines about killing his friend. So why can’t they have lines when killing her? If a Deande let out a soft “I’m sorry” in a heartbroken tone, or Ambra shrilly yelled “I knew you’d betray me!”, it could work. Just really play up the Varelsiness.
In the end, I don’t expect it at all. The evidence is stacked against it. And I’d rather have someone new. But I still see the possibility.
And honestly, if you devoted your life to someone, and they died (now i sound like “It’s Over, Isn’t It”), and came back malformed with a different personality, it’s be difficult to just accept it.
And of course, Occam’s Razor all the way here. I doubt any of this as it’s far too complicated.

It might not be permanent. They had a huge event and changed storylines, and now people who contact them just hear that he’s dead now. But they just reworked him, so leaving him dead makes no sense.
No he came back, with new lore too, it has been like that for a while

I think maybe you’re taking PvP a little too literally. It’s always been my take that Battleborn in PvP are competing sort of in a training or “Battles of Valhalla” sense. Fighting for the sake of having a good fight!
I mean, we know from the prologue story that the LLC tech saves their lives via teleport when taking lethal damage, so I see each Incursion, Meltdown or Capture match as the opportunity for Allied Battleborn to test their mettle against each other without ACTUAL death being on the line.
This is kind of supported by the dialogue we get when one Battleborn sees another on the field. It’s usually kind of playful, teasing stuff, not like they’re ACTUALLY going after each other in a life-or-death struggle.
With this in mind, it’d be easy to see how Empress Lenore, dedicated to rebuilding the Jennerit Empire, would ask Rath and Deande to oppose her in a training scenario, so she can hone her skills.

That would make sense, but according to some videos before release, they said it’s just land battles. Fighting over shard rich enviroments for real estate. Not sure why certain people are on certain teams, but that’s what was in the boot camp video.

Yup, I wish they made big spinoff games or got people like platinum games make character specific spinoffs, battleborn could do the same but I see gearbox doing that

The game itself seems unsure about this. Mellka will act excited to fight Ghalt, yet sometimes she’ll angrily call him a traitor (after she KOs him.) Sometimes Ambra is audibly heartbroken when she kills Galilea; other times she’s totally blase about it.
I think Orendi sums it up best when she declares that none of this makes sense
