I get what you mean. I have played a solid 12+ hours of the beta so far and would say that I could retract a few of my issues with certain characters. Rath and Phoebe seem OP, but once I learned how to play Toby, I stopped getting hit by them as much.
I main Toby now, and would say that he still feels underpowered. His Ult. is nearly useless entirely, and his purpose is masked almost entirely behind his force field. Also, I don’t know if this is an issue across the board or not, but my crosshair often shows that I am aiming at a person or passed an object and then firing my arc mine just hits a wall in front of me. I HATE when games do not have an obvious projection of where you are aiming versus where you are shooting (Battlefront has the same issue in the third-person, but not in first person).
I love how much a game can alter based on who can play their class properly. A Miko that doesn’t know what their Ult. does can completely turn the tide for the opposing team. I always thought the barrier of entry was too high for most MOBAs, but this one just makes sense for me.
That all being said, my opinion of characters needing nerfing would still hold Shayne & Aurux in there, but also OM, though for different reasons. Invisibility should go away when a character is hit, like pretty much every other game. Otherwise, there are so few characters that have the potential to reveal invisible players. The main two that I have issues with are Ambra and Galilea. Gali is insanely well-rounded in a way that she can basically do everything, and does it really well. Ambra, on the other hand, is basically a no-skill character. Her beam never runs out and basically just tracks onto whomever. That, and the fact that she can just pop an overshield in close quarters has completely turned a battle for herself, when she is otherwise being beat down, and just gets that extra few seconds of life for her to just outlive someone, rather than outplay them.
TLDR; Toby needs better Ult. Ambra and Galilea need nerfing. Invisibility does not have enough weakness.
