Character Balancing

In my experience with El Dragon, he is a hit-and-run character. He’s much faster than other players, which is to say he comes in, hits, and takes off running. He should basically be picking people off, not taking on enemies by himself.

Edit: Also, depending on what level you were, Rath has the ability to gain health when he hits people with either his regular attacks or his skills, depending on the helix upgrade.

Thanks for the tips TheAfterman. I tried what you suggested and it did help, the clothesline is great for legging it and injuring enemies at the same time. But I still feel he is underpowered compared to a lot of the other characters, in a straight fight with someone like Miko he should win - what with him being an offensive character rather than a support type and yet when I faced down Miko and started punching etc and they were only throwing their kuni and I still lost against him… I mean it.

Use the clap, not punches. Profit.

Well, Miko may have used Fungus Among Us and thrown down a mushroom which, as well as healing Miko, may have also been damaging you depending on Helix mutations. Also, Miko may have used Biosynthesis which heals Miko over time. Combined these abilities would mitigate a lot of your damage and probably keep Miko up a few more seconds, which is ample time to take down El Dragon since he is not especially tanky.

Anyway, I can see how Miko could win that duel with some healing over time, especially if you are chasing and not landing every blow while Miko is free to just backpedal and throw kunai.

Not true, because Miko has multiple means of sustain and El Dragon does not. Think of the character as an assassin or a blitz attacker, not a brawler. Unless you can overwhelm someone like Miko with offense (e.g. They are already injured) they will probably outlast you every time.

My friend chose all the damage options on the helix, got the special gear, and ended up get over 3 million in total damage
He also killed the last sentry at full health and shield using nothing but shadow pillars and encore

I tried Toby, and I’ve heard he is a tad underpowered, but when I played him he seemed absolutely useless. I know I definitely don’t get the strategy with him, but are there any videos you could suggest showing how to play a good Toby? I’ve heard Kaliedodemon is really good with him, but I’m not really a stream kinda guy. I’ll probably ask a few youtubers to do a little tutorial type thing on him, but I’d love to hear if you had any suggestions.

Phoebe is not that much Op, in fact she has been really Nerfed since the test and I can really feel it playing, the trick with Phoebe is that she’s a menace in 1v1, the second you tag on her you have a really huge change of beating her easily (unlike other champs like Rath or Galilea)

Her stun has been removed (even tho it was the hardest to land and Galilea, rath, Shayne, Isic, Miko can all get instant stun and that’s not a problem) which makes her waaay less op than she was.

Also feels like the hit area has been reduced, and you can easily avoid her attacks by jumping around like a f***** bunny.

I feel like a pretty easy counter to Rath is still just running away. He’s not that fast, and he’s definitely can’t chase you and attack you at the same time. Other than the x, which doesn’t do that much damage, he has pretty much nothing at range, and he usually opens with the attack that throws you up in the air. Just back up to your allies, or you sentry and he will run away, if he is smart, or overextend and die.

This is a bug/exploit with her legendary gear. I’m fairly certain the reason this happens is that the 30%increase from missing your pillars doesn’t reset when you land a pillar, allowing you to stack the damage increase infinitely.

I am in agreement on some of the character balances posted here.

My strongest is that of Toby The Destroyer (of nothing). He has zero strong points he’s neither defensive or offensive enough to make any contributions outside of assists and building. I LOVE his play style. WAY too much fun, but he is basically a good distraction or even better cannon fodder. Bumping up his shied stats could easily balance his lack of damage, or vis versa. It’s clear he’s not meant for the fray, but even tackling minions can be a chore for him.

My second is Galilea. GOOD GOD! I have no problem with her being a melee beast, but when she can take on Montana, Rath, and a sentry (at full health and shields), only to destroy all three without retreat, there is a problem. I’ve heard she was supposed to be nerfed a bit already, but a team should not be punished for not choosing that character, because you will be.

Thirdly, Benedict’s weapon skills don’t quite help his rather limited offensive ability. He’s not awful by any means just some tweaking might be needed to actually make him a “pusher”. I only mention him because I’ve used him a lot as well, and even airborne he’s doesn’t quite have the output for sometimes required to break through some of the troublesome tanks (who can still easily avoid his rockets).

All the others might need some light touch ups (Ambra’s self heal rate) but overall can be worked around one way or another with a team that works well together. Actually I feel like the first characters released are far more refined.

I just hope a few tweaks are made prelaunch. I know there will always be nerf/buff requests so I was hesitant to post. It’s good to see other opinions out there that have identified some of the same extremes.

I have heard that some people have kind of learned to play him pretty well, even though he is till pretty underpowered, BUT I DON’T ■■■■■■■ GET HOW

Ambra is really OP, and this coming from someone that likes playing as Ambra.

Was in a match as Deande, seen enemy Ambra go 15/0/2 on Incursion mode, she was practically level 5 before anyone else was level 3.

If she is suppose to be a healer, then her attacks need to be reduced, and Sunsphere healing buffed, if she is suppose to be a frontline fighter, then tag her as such. Either way she needs a hard look at for balancing.

Heheheh Yep!

More healing on sunspots would be good but I really don’t have an issue with her Ceremonial Gauntlets beam, it’s not as OP as people make it out to be. Just stay out of its range if you’re ranged or get right up close (and hopefully stun/slow) if you’re melee.

In my opinion the biggest problem is her Flame Shield. Once you get her below 20% you have to deal an additional 450 damage and during that time her actual shield may regenerate. When coupled with the additional speed mutation she can just run away, heal herself then finish off the already damaged enemy player.

Part of the reason that it is so powerful is that it stays locked onto enemies, allowing you to jump and dance around your opponent while maintaining your steady stream of damage.

Agreed which is why I suggested a stun/slow if possible. In my opinion all melee should have either stun or slow, it would solve many issues. Galilea decimates Ambra with her stun.

Toby can pump out some insane damage. Use him more like a sniper and run when someone comes into your personal bubble. His ult does need some tweaking as it doesn’t do enough damage for the amount of time your just standing there firing it.

Okay I just played with an Ambra who got 30 kills zero deaths and almost as much heals as my Miko so yeah I’m with you guys she needs a big ol’ nerf lol
