unbelievable. @Stouty22 did a test for me and confirmed. he has his Gaige at OP8 and ran the test for me at OP0 to see if unlocking the op levels make any difference on what damage you can put out. Here is the test from Stouty. and thanks again buddy. much appreciated you jumping online to help me out with this.

this confirms that Console gets better damage numbers with DT than PC. wow! :hushed:

Edit: Here’s is my pic from Xbox1 DT testing at OP0:

Deathtrap damage from his “electric bolt” as the wiki calls it :

FORMAT LEVEL DAMAGE
PC OP0 59689
PS4 OP0 152K
XB1 OP0 152K

Axton’s turret :

FORMAT LEVEL DAMAGE
PC OP0 96033
PS4 OP0 196K
PC OP3 138K
PS4 OP3 290K

Hey @Kurtdawg13 : it looks like I get the exact same Cloud Kill numbers on PC

20181227220359_1

The first (OP0) is after about 2 seconds, then CK starts to “cook” and the numbers start to build like they do in the second shot (OP4). Anyways, same.

this is pretty big news. think of Time trial records. this puts a lot into question. Whoa!

Quoting myself for effect:

“There is no reason why any platform should have an advantage over the other outside of personal preference of the user.”

Consider my jimmes rustled gearbox.

Edit:
And in bl1 I am convinced that drop rates for rare gear are better. As a player of both I notice a significant difference.

Well…I’m not so sure.

So far all we’ve been able to prove is Axton’s turret and DT’s shock bolt. These effectively don’t do ■■■■ at OP8 - not enough to affect TTs. Also off the top of my head I can’t think of a single console player posting on the TTs.

Regardless - this makes a huge difference for normal play at lvl 72.

i wasn’t sure if @nat_zero_six was in the TT thread or not? I don’t follow it myself. But i know he’s a console player.
@Sun_Tsunami what say ye, good sir?

Yep - Sun has a spot or two as well I think.

Oh look! A pun! Sun…spot…

Huge I don’t know but significant for sure. At OP3 my turret still wreck things. Nothing comparable to Normal or TVHM but it’s not “doing nothing”.
Next question: Does the turret have the same health?

-edit- Unforseen damage at OP0 and OP2 are the same on console.
… On PS4  Can’t assume anything anymore.

Nice find :+1:.

For testing Deathtrap melee damage, maybe find an enemy who’s guaranteed to spawn and spawn more or less alone so that Deathtrap won’t get distracted? Maybe Bad Maw except he has his midgets which might draw DT’s attacks instead, I dunno.

Edit: Knuckledragger perhaps?

In Opportunity, there’s that one lone turret on that roof near the beginning. If you clear out the local enemies without killing it, it’s good for this sort of thing. That said, I think Deathtrap goes after that with his shock beam (which will be the tricky part).

What about McNally out in the Dust?

I’m trying something at Southern Shelf. You can isolate one guy or get close to the melee. They don’t always cooperate nicely and armored guy can spawn but work.
Now I just need to adjust the technical side…

So far I have 611K displayed damage at OP0 and 696K at OP1. On flesh.
Unfortunately she’s only OP1 atm.

And I just did some testing on Knuckledragger (would’ve done it earlier but I had to go to work heh. )

On OP0 Deathtrap does 238K with a melee swipe. (No COM, BAR etc… though I discovered in testing this that BAR does not boost DT’s melee damage.)
On OP4 (the current max OP level of my main Gaige) he does 389K.

Again this is on PC, so it looks like console wins again. :open_mouth:

GEARBOX! What up yo?

Granted the target was different, but looks like DT’s melee attack on console is also maintaining the ~2.5x damage advantage we’ve seen with his electric bolt.

After two days of hard work on it…
Ok. It’s not all I did in those two days but it was a pain you know where.
Either I forgot to do something or when I didn’t I got Ironclads and other spawns mischief.
nAd then there was the editing with the Share Factory app. Not recommending that for professional use…

First, a question: Does the damage reduction apply to everything at the selected OP level or is it dependent on the target level? Cuz DeathTrap melee attack does the same damage regardless of the enemy level.
611K @ OP0
696K @ OP1

Asking that because I also tried The Clap and obviously. This one is part RNG…
I didn’t extract all (or any) values. If someone want to do a real in depth comparison between console (PS4) and Pc. I can do it.
So here is the results. Some mistakes here and there and I could had speed up more areas but it’s watchable.
I hope…

I’ve not confirmed this but it’s supposed to be based on target level, not selected OP level.

That’s odd. Same damage vs a level 72 as 74. That 74 should have been 10% less.

I’ll try to recreate this on PC but at all OP levels.

Go ahead!
I’ll have a nice hot cocoa.

-edit-
@Jefe Looking a it. (Again) It does seem like level matters… Saw some “odd” numbers… Like 672K at OP0 vs a level 71. Instead of 611K
Easier to focus on details when you’re not playing…
Look like DT get a buff against lower level foes but no nerf against higher level? idk. I could be totally off.
Didn’t saw any other anomalies… For now.

Not completely on topic, but I seem to remember reading somewhere that the game treats phaselock damage as melee?

I only now think of it now that I’m done for the evening and I was going to test it but keep forgetting. It’s all good, it’ll just bug me on the 3 hr flight I’m about to hop on when there’s nothing else to think about. Lol
