Sorry but even if Nova was affiliated with UPR faction instead, her robot suit would still have been manufactured by LLC, so that doesn’t change anything.
UPR can also build robots. I doubt the Loader Arms are the only things they make. (And I’m assuming they aren’t built by LLC because Kleese doesn’t seem to understand why they are there. I could be wrong, of course.)
That’s why I’m saying that I’d like to see what else the UPR can do.
And even if the robot suit was manufactured by LLC, if Nova was UPR the color scheme would also be UPR. It would also be custom made for Nova. Why couldn’t LLC build a robot suit in the theme of the UPR? This is the main reason I’d like for her to be UPR. I’ve already seen what LLC robots look like.
What I mean is, LLC is the robot/IA specialist . The minions are from LLC, for example. Since Kleese is part of the Battleborn group, there is no reason he doesn’t supervise Nova’s robot suit himself, which means LLC manufactured, pretty much.
For what LLC robots looks like, considering how different the various little minions, Elite bots, the sentries, the shepherds, the humanoid minions, marquis and ISIC looks like, I’d say that there is no reason Nova’s robot suit would look similar.
As for the colours, yes, but honestly, Skins recolours kind of nullify most of this point anyway…
Nova in a robot suit, yessss! And a Varelsi, since we can also play as a thrall.
Also Lenore, yes.
I’m curious to see King and Queen Mike (how on Earth is there a Queen Mike, should I be worried?).
Also, I have to wonder if our Mike is just better than the other Mikes because if he is just an ordinary Mike, why on Earth is there a whole planet of Mikes just sitting on their butts? Seems like they could win the whole war by themselves.
I understand what everyone is saying, so I will leave it at this; I want to see NOVA in her robot suit, and I want to have a UPR support to round things out nicely. I think it would be awesome if they were the same character, since NOVA is a UPR ship/Magnus AI, but I’m not picky. After all, the thread is what we want to see.
First of all, probably Benedict’s nest-mate. I’d love for there to be a mission tied into that, too. Where we turn up to rescue her and she ends up pulling our fat out of the fire (likely freeing the players from some utterly ridiculous, obvious trap).
Other than that, I want more robots with more diverse personalities. The sentries have fantastic personalities but we haven’t had one of those yet and it’s a damn shame. I’m not talking about an actually playable sentry as that might be difficult considering their size and how missions are designed around characters that only go as big as Kleese/ISIC. More, then, a reduced sentry or a robot with a sentry personality core.
I’d also love a Varelsi defector with a lot of lore and a mission surrounding them that really gets into what they’re doing and why they’re doing it. To give the Varelsi a history and a reason beyond ‘ooga booga, bad guys.’ ISIC seems to believe that they’re only doing this to our Universe because they’re running scared and balls-to-the-wall deseprate. ISIC’s an intelligent chap, so he’s probably right. I’d love to see that expanded upon.
Perhaps if the Varelsi were a oneness but some catastrophic event has actually driven them towards becoming two separate minds, divided down the middle in regards to whether they should do this to our reality or not. If they should accept their fate and extinction or be willing to wipe out countless other species to preserve themselves.
You could write a really interesting story with that. Hell, bring Grant Morrison on to have him help with the base storyline, he eats, sleeps, and poops this stuff.
So there you go, that’s what I’d like to see.
Someone is “suspiciously absent”…
Wolfie!!! Love the dialog
I’d also like to see the statues at the very end of saboteur.
Well from the picture of the unreleased characters, the UPR one looks like a penguin with a grenade launcher.
Ugh, I know… Don’t get me wrong, Toby is adorable, but I was hoping for… I dunno, maybe a combat medic from the UPR? Alani, just not as terrifyingly stacked. And penguins don’t really scream badass unless they’re in a huge mech…

[…] penguin […][/quote]
Owl with songbird overtones. /nod
The penguins are Toby-sized, it would appear.
Also, an owl would certainly have a scary aura about it. Anyone who doesn’t think owls are scary has never been attacked by one, nor seen the size of their talons. It reminds me of people who don’t think ostriches are scary until they see them attacking someone. Birds can be terrifying.
One word: Cassowary.
I entertained the idea of deathtrap with gauge’s brain downloaded into it.
Also Krieg and offer no explanation as to how he got there.
Of course, if they introduce him in game, will have an explanation: a meat bicycle!!
Deathtrap with Gauge’s brain… strange but that reminds me…
Claptrap!! And a joke that when you select him, Nova call you in your madness asking you if you want to boicot your team, asking you to select Oscar Mike or stop being a ■■■■■ and play with a healer
Wait a second… MINREC… MINAC… MEGA INTERPLANETARY NINJA ASSASSIN CLAPTRAP. Holy S**t, you guys, Claptrap’s in Battleborn.
Yeah… right…
And that confirms Half Life 3, am I right?
(Dryly) Your sense of humour astounds, dear friend.
Oddly enough Rendain is a serious possibility. Firstly it’s entirely possible, and in my opinion likely, that he’s not dead.
Deande: “Give the BASTARD what he’s been after - open up a Varelsi portal!”
We didn’t finish him off properly, we banished him through a portal, he could have survived.
Secondly he’s not the ultimate antagonist here, the Varelsi are. Rendain doesn’t want the Varelsi to win anymore than we do, but he sees no other option for survival.
Rendain: “Don’t you see? We needn’t all perish…we can save something…”
The way Rendain sees it, it’s either fight and lose everything, or surrender, work with the Varelsi, and save something. It’s possible that our successful efforts against Rendain have proved to him that we can fight and win, he may be willing to lend us his support if he sees fighting the Varelsi as a viable option.
Either way I’m certain we haven’t seen the last of Rendain.
In that vein, there is another thing to consider; while Rendain IS the primary antagonist, there is a line in The Void’s Edge where he references “those I am employed by” or something to that effect. I always assumed he meant the Varelsi, but… they don’t seem like the planning type. So what controls Rendain?
Something in the DLC chapters, maybe?
