Cistern of Slaughter Badass Rakk problem

An “Easy” Method when not fully leveled yet, is hiding under the bridge and using an Atlas with tracking grenade (preferable a purple AX-7 or also a purple Cost-Optimized Q System or also both if low ammo could become a problem).

If they dive, simply launch a grenade near them and then shoot out into the air on both sides of the bridge, but also look out for badasses spawning there and shoot them, if near enough the bullets will go through them killing them and then travel further to the rakks (double profit).

This also has the advantage that the snakes on the ground gets tracked by the grenade at the same time and also will get hit by the shots.

I did this with a underleveled ■■■■ and it worked fine for all rakks.

You also get enough money there to fully level up two SDUs so if you have the money at the end go to sanctuary and buy SDUs before starting again and there’s a good chance you also will find some Atlas if you don’t have them yet.

What’s also good are the Hunter Seekers, preferably Mitosis or at least Cloning, but it’s unfortunately not something that drops a lot.

So, I have yet to try this, but I saw it on YouTube, so it must work. Right? Try hiding underneath the metal platform with stairs. They can’t hit you, and they’ll eventually get stuck under there with you and just fly idle until you kill them.

Just not a fan of the enemy type period. I’d be happy if rakk took a hike in the next game.

Even though only a few in the game have a chance to be deadly they are all annoying in my opinion. Small, unpredictable, annoying.

At least flying varkids are easy to put bullets on.

They can’s dive attack you there but they still can hit you there with the big AOE attack if they do it just left or right of it, but if they come that near it’s perfect to throw a tracking grenade and mark them or even multiple ones at once. And yeah they sometimes also get stuck there, sometimes multiple ones at once, and that’s then the perfect time to mark them all with one grenade.

You also have to watch out for badasses spawning there and those snakes in the last round, but I had no issues with the tracking grenade, because it also marks those too, so simply move away and keep shooting and get back under there.

It’s not perfect but it worked with my lvl 37 ■■■■ and I repeated it till I was lvl 50 and I also got all the money to max out all SDUs because the fat rakks let fall so much money in the last round.

Yeah, I was already doing that but it didn’t help me because
a) they can still AE you when stuck above you
b) if there are multiple rakks flying around they can also fly underneath the walkway with you which can be very bad
c) even when they were stuck and I would lay into them I was not doing enough damage to kill them because they are either immune to damage or resist so much damage

I think I probably just didn’t have good enough gear or something even though I was using a cryo hawkin smg (or something). It melts most things but those rakks it just barely damages them.

Damn, I was planning to use this place to level a few times, bit it sounds like it can be a pain.

I ran into this same problem in there when I was leveling Amara from 38 to 50. I didn’t have as much trouble as with Moze but one thing I did notice was it became much more doable as i got mid to high 40’s so there could be a scaling issue going on or maybe it was just that I got better gear as I went along (or both).

I still never completely cleared it with Amara. I didn’t seem to have as many problems with the rakks on Amara even though they still sucked hard. Ironically the final time I ran it on Amara I was on round 5 in the final wave with a single mob alive…guess what it was? One of those stupid badass rakks. I didn’t actually die but I literally ran out of ammo trying to kill it and then got knocked and couldn’t revive myself with no ammo. That was the last time I did it on Amara. Very frustrating.

Just wanted to say thanks for that suggestion. I’m not sure how great the XP is but seems at least as good if not better as doing CoS and failing before getting it completed.

It’s also far more enjoyable than dying repeatedly to super dumbass rakks in CoS. I also got a legendary on my first trip so that’s not bad. I have only done the first one so I think by the time I unlock them all I will probably be 50 (I’m 46 now). I just wish I had known about this when I was leveling my other two characters.

Anyone have an updated suggestion? I was finally able to kill them using a combo of the laser sploder and lob (I’d just fire the lob in the air and hope they run into the projectile). I hid underneath the podium the switch to start the round is on and occasionally they’d fly under there and hang for a few seconds so you could inflict some damage. But I’m hoping there’s a faster method. Lame that Amara can’t phasegrasp them.

Also, anyone know the name of those things they seem to spawn that attack you–they look like big slugs.

I did this again recently on TVHM4. Those things were still a huge PITA. I killed them with a combination of the Lob (going under platform and when they dive down and get semi-stuck for a sec you can do decent damage with the Lob) and the Krakatoa when they are far away. You can also use tracker nades. Those two weapons are very OP but still hard to hit these bastards with their weird flight patterns.

Also, I found that at times you could phasegrasp them if they were close enough (or maybe certain ones only…not sure). I believe you can also use TTB and grasp something else when they get close to the ground and damage them indirectly that way through the links.

Try to get Soulrender or Anarchy from new DLC.
Anarchy dmg stacks can easly 1-2 hit those rakks and Soulrender spawns skulls that have “auto-aim” at enemies dealing splash dmg of Your gun element.

a kinetic CH Hyperfocus and the new Oldridian smg should both be pretty good vs flying enemies, I used a Lucky 7 with 50% ele dmg ASE but that’s probably a Moze-only solution, theres also Q-system with tracking darts but not sure if its dps is enough

on a sidenote was CoS buffed at some point? I havn’t been to that place for months and the last time I was there at lvl 50 I had only 3 legendariese but this time the ground was littered with them. Also, has the last round in wave 5 always spawned so many enemies? felt like there were more enemies than all previous rounds combined, but it could just be because there were more rakks in the last round.
