Claptrap's Claptastic Voyage DLC Campaign/Ultimate Vaulthunter Upgrade Pack 2 on March 24th!

No there isn’t.

I’m not done playing the game. I just wish I would be able to do something new. Instead, I have to start over collecting what I already had.

I want to have a feeling of progress as I’m playing a game. Getting new and improved gear and exploring new areas does. Farming stuff I have already farmed in the past does the exact opposite.

I don’t enjoy the same things about this game as Salvadorable. That’s fine. That also means that things that I dislike about the game are things he may like. And that’s OK too. But I don’t use those differences to make sweeping generalizations about other player’s love of the game.

Nobody makes over 5000 forum posts about a game they don’t like.

Well. I did mean that comment for myself. “probably some truth to that”. But maybe for some others as well.

I think that there are three solutions to a problem like this.

A) the player deals with it
B) they make a Stretcher machine that lets you take old gear and level it up as is to your current level. Costs moonstones.
C) they inform players from the beginning that they will probably raise the level cap twice before the season pass is up.

C wouldn’t have changed much about how I played only because I suspected there would be a second level cap increase. Or at the very least I suspected I would know once they announced the campaign DLC.

B feels it would be awesome to me. A lot of people argue against it for similar reasons that we have heard in this thread (it’s about finding new gear as you go forward). But I say, why not? More than likely you’ll seek out a higher level version of a gun you like. Why not let us stretch an old one up? He’s going to get that gun one way or another.

A is dealt with many ways. Sometimes in negative ways.

Sorry. It’s just that the text you were quoting was about me.
I would have zero complaints if your C solution was implemented.

lol. And if the next logical step isn’t figuring out what weapons will best synergize with your skill points then I…
Never mind.
I’m not going to spend time debating this.
It’s exhausting coming to this forum, posting an opinion, and being told a dozen different ways that your opinion is wrong.
It’s clear we play in different circles.
To each their own.

I do notice this at times too. It peeves me quite a bit.

Lets all remember that opinions are subjective. What one prefers may not be what you do. That dosnt mean you need to argue your opinion as fact.

Note - The above isnt directed at anyone in particular, just food for thought.

I think that probably is the next logical step for most players, but it’s the step after that where we see a pretty significant divergence. Some players will say, “Okay, I’ve got Laser Focus maxed out on my Wilhelm, time to go farm the best legendary lasers in the game!” Other players will say, “Okay, I’ve got Laser Focus maxed out on my Wilhelm, time to start equipping more lasers when I find them.” Like you said, to each their own. As I mentioned in another Claptastic thread, I learned my lesson when the second cap increase was announced for BL2: I will save my farming for later. It would be nice if the devs could be a little more open about their plans for things like this.

I have never once called your opinion wrong. In fact I have gone out of my way to say there’s nothing wrong with your opinion. The only thing I have told you is BS is your assertion that people who don’t play like you do don’t think, because that is indeed BS. The next logical step is: play the game. You don’t need to have one overpowered build or weapon in TPS. The soft scale of UVHM makes so many weapons/skill combinations viable that trying out new gear as you level and play is still easy to do at level 60.

I wasn’t sure if it was to me or someone else. But he did reply to my comment. No problem either way.

I think there was alot of people who believed that level 60 would be it. Due to the skill trees and 2 level sooner action skill i believe it is very close to BL2. On top of that a seemingly easier game.

I also held out because i agree that new dlc without leveling would feel kinda lackluster. So i expected it.

I agree i see some loss in diversity. Now you can have your dps and survivability too. Theres still lots of choice. Just a little less.

I am excited for the dlc. Looks like a blast. And please. MOAR GUNS!!!

Well they’d better fix the backpack and bank space before the DLC then.

I think the original plan all along was to release/enable 6 more backpack with this DLC. That’s what it looks like their intent was. I believe it was a mistake that it was in the shop earlier than when it was truly enabled.

Yeah, that seems like it’s possible but if that were true the lack of admittance by GBX on the issue is a bit bothersome since the DLC is already revealed. We got a “fix” by having the last two backpack/bank upgrades disabled and I’m just afraid that they’ll never be available.

Also, if something that obvious can slip past QA, that really doesn’t bode well for that team.

why do you have to single me out like that…

Its all out of love, ST. All love.

Yea… we could certainly use a little more of the official communication from gearbox.

Man, if those ‘reply’ symbols weren’t there I’d be really confused right now.

Depending on how the code base is managed, they may have to release the DLC before the patch.

Same here, I used a level 9 flakker until level 31 when I was claptrap because of how well he buffed explosive damage.

For those that think the game is too easy and they need a challenge, here is one.

I challenge you to play the game with your current farmed weapons (lvl 60). You will have the best gear and you have to play with that all the way through to level 70 (yes you can allocate your extra skill points).

This will solve having to re-farm gear and be challenging - think OP levels in reverse, you increase lvl but weapons don’t. You also have to reset the game and play through once you reach lvl 70 - so there you go
