I would say turn it off , I turned it off and it doesn’t ask me no more but I click the one on the right and it took me back a couple levels

Yeah it seems like when you have the option to choose the hard drive save or cloud sync to always choose the one with the later date on it, my friends cloud sync is on too but he doesn’t have the problem I do. I wonder why that is, when I turned of Cloud Sync it stopped asking me to pick between Cloud Sync or hard drive save, so I plan to turn it off

Yeah I’m reading on another forum that a lot of people are experiencing where they are asked to choose Cloud Sync or Hard drive and when they choose cloud that they are getting set back. Seems like also in a few cases(not all) that some people chose the newer save but was still sent back.

Yeh, I’m one of the few cases - 4 levels rolled back, not a huge loss, but all cosmetic items lost (some bought with eridium - eridium also lost) soo maybe watch the eridium purchasing till this gets fixed.
Going to try copying saves from C:\Users[username]\Documents\My Games\Borderlands 3, then sync the cloud save. if this rolls back i’ll try overwrite the path above and see if I can get my local back.
unless anyone else has tried this and advises otherwise?

Is there an option in the client to manually sync and choose direction (ie local -> cloud or cloud -> local)? It’s sounding from the posts above like choosing the local save file doesn’t automatically update the cloud copy for some reason.

Forcing sync is possible from the gear menu. Downloading from the cloud is possible by moving the local files to a new location, resulting in the conflict prompt.
Also lost about 4 hours of gameplay… not a big deal, but a bit frustrating. I had the cloud sync prompt, but both cloud and local were same date, same time. I chose local and lost my progress anyways.

I think BL3 might use the same system as the previous games as far as progress is concerned. If that’s true, then progressing from your current solo point should trigger a “Skip” dialogue that will move you through the story missions you completed in co-op. If you get a chance to check that out, let me know if it works.
I ran in to this this morning on my work pc but got it working.
Fresh install, no character. Went back to my main pc, manually synced, launched the game, and closed the game, all with epic launcher still open. I noticed when I closed the game another sync happened on the epic launcher automatically, as if closing the game triggers the sync. When I logged on my work pc again, it was synced up to the same progress as my main pc.
IMO the way it works is when you leave the game, the saved progress files are uploaded to Epic via the launcher. Then, when you relaunch the game, Epic pushes the latest synced save file as it launches.
The fix: I think you will have to have the Epic launcher open when you quit the game OR manually sync it via the launcher before you attempt to play on another pc every time or progress can be lost. I do not think there is ANY in-game sync to Epic servers.

Everythings gone, ■■■■ this cloud service, should have waited for the steam release
@kargl92 On your main pc or secondary pc youre trying to play on?
@kargl92 get back on your secondary and launch the game. Leave the Epic launcher open. If your stuff is still there, just exit the game via prompts. The epic launcher should then auto sync, and your main pc should be good to go.
Make sure there is internet access on both machines

So I am on my laptop and my progress from last night isn’t saved. Should I get back to my main PC and sync my game to the cloud? does that action replace the cloud with your local file or change your local file to the cloud file?
@mconrad512 I am no expert here, but from my experience the Epic launcher syncs your local save to their servers. Then when you get on a different device, if the local save isnt as new as the one they have synced, it pushes the most recent save to the device.
So yes, get back on main pc, launch the game, leave the epic launcher open, log in your character(s), and exit the game via prompts. You should see the little sync bar on Borderlands activate for a sec or two. At this point the game should be synced up and ready to play on your laptop next time you launch

Great, that was my thought. Will attempt and post back with how it ended up working for me.
