Hell, a lvl 1 CMT would have the same effect with Moze.
But it would be nice if they actually buff up grenade damage like they promised a few months ago (Yes I know they’re scaled to Mayhem now, but they promised general damage buffs).

That’s true. I just found it ironic that after searching thru a billion vending machines I get two in the same machine.
Yeah, IMO grenades should also get the mayhem scaling action skills and anointments got.
Lol yea. That’s how RNGesus works. Haha.
Grenades did get the same Mayhem scaling, but grenade damage was super weak to begin with. On M0 they do no damage at max level. Even the high damage roider or nuke grenades are meh. The Mayhem scaling helped, but they need a base damage buff in general.
I had the same thing happen to me. I already had a level 50 version that was gifted to me and when the level cap was first increased when I started to level up I found one that was identical to the one I already had and was still level 50. Never saw another one again so I guess I have found one in my huge amount of playtime but that was it.
I’ve had a couple but sold them. Why the interest if you don’t mind my asking? There seem to be better options than this, unless you just want it as far as being a completionist.
Maybe someone who understands the game mechanics better can give a more thorough answer but the bottom line is there is no other grenade (in the current iteration of the game) that interacts with the Moze skills MoD/Vampyr which allows Moze to regen ammo/nades and heal. Two critical effects for many Moze builds. It allows you to throw continuous nades which regens more nades and regens ammo and heals you.
I’m not a Moze main but I believe it is the preferred option due to the number of hits it provides for a single throw. 2 x 3 x3 I think.
People were using hex and stormfronts but that was considered OP so it was ‘adjusted’
It’s quite rare but not impossible.
Split-screen farming vendors is the way to go.
I’ve gotten 3, all 57 non-Mayhem with ASE anoints.
They’re hands-down the best for many Moze builds because each throw gives up to 18 proc chances of Vampyr, MoD, and PthP/Redistribution.
Hex can’t proc all those skills as consistently as CMT.
For other characters I don’t think they’d really do all that much.
Hex used to until they ‘fixed’ it.
CMT could be great for any VH if they ever buffed grenade damage just due to the shear number of hits it gets.
I just tried it with a grenade (2492 base damage) and it did roughly 5k dmg (with all the other bonuses from gear and whatnot applied) so this doesn’t seem to be the case otherwise it would have done somewhere around 150k dmg.
I found mine by obsessively checking the vending machines.
They only got the mayhem damage scaling that the guns got. There’s no extra modifiers in play with grenades. Hence a M0 will do less damage than a M10 variant. The grenade base damage is still really low.
I’ve run across only one one-shotter, and I found it in a chest of the treasure room at the end of DLC1. I remember at the time thinking “oh, this is where you find that shield everyone is talking about”. Took me awhile to figure out it was just RNG and not a reward for completing the campaign.
Hmm, I just picked up a Bouncy maddening tracker. By my calculations, this thing hits almost as many times as the CMT.
So close…
No cloning and the wrong anointment. That’s actually not that close but it’s the closest I have seen…sadly.
I just recently started a new Amara and got a lvl 10 CMT from the Demoskagons while trying to get a Night Hawkin.
lol. Good luck getting another one at max level!
I guess my luck must be pretty good … look what I just found in a vending machine in the Bloodsun Canyon at the front gate.
Wow. That is amazing luck. Wrong anointment but still…2 in one day is crazy. I search for these every time I play and I never find them.
