Community patch: Athena's skills

(Avi16200) #1

A community patch for TPS has been recently uploaded, even though we can’t alter skills yet I thought it’s a good idea to start brainstorming.

(?) - New suggestion that hasn’t been approved/disapproved yet.
(:+1:) - The suggestion gained allot of positive feedback.
( :-1:)-The suggestion gained allot of negative feedback (or can’t be implemented because of technical reasons) and likely to be removed.

PHALANX:
(?) Stalwart - Instead of making the aspis absorb allies damage, the aspis now transfers a part on energy stored to melee damage (like a roid shield). Each point increases the amount of energy transferred, 20% of energy converted to melee damage per point. This will make stalwart much more useful and gives the aspis more synergy to melee Athena, the max health boost already benefits melee play styles (as it improves Bloodlust and makes you tankier). In mobbing this will be overkill with a roid shield but this change is more for raiding at level 70 where she needs IMO more damage. Might be not possible to implement.

XIPHOS:

(?) Bloodlust - gain a larger boost to health regeneration for a set duration (not dependent on enemy staying alive), not a stacking skill anymore. 2% of max health per point. Not being dependent on enemy staying alive or stacks make it’s a much more reliable and consistent boost.

(?) You’ve Got Red On You- bleeding enemies are slowed by 5% and have reduced accuracy by 3.5%.

(?) Epicenter - make the pull stronger and give it a cooldown around 6-8 seconds. (Blood rush kind of makes this skill redundant in my eyes since it’s a great gap closer, I’m not sure if a buff can actually make this worth it)

(?) Fury of the arena - gain a larger boost to fire rate and reload speed for a set duration (not dependent on enemy staying alive), not a stacking skill anymore. 6% fire rate/reload speed per point. Not being dependent on enemy staying alive or stacks make it’s a much more reliable and consistent boost.

(?) You’ve got red on you - make the explosion radius bigger. I would suggest an increase to damage but I barely
saw it damaging an enemy to know if it needs a damage buff.

CERAUNIC STORM:

(Here comes the BOOOOM) #2

You’ve Got Red On You- bleeding enemies are slowed by 5% and have reduced accuracy by 3.5%.

That’s the only one I can think of that’s in dire need of help.

I think the change to Bloodlust would make it wildly OP. As it is, it’s already a very strong skill to use on a melee build and melee Athena when played skillfully is very hard to kill, such a change would make her near immortal.

Added, I like this idea. It adds interesting utility to the bleed debuff.

What do you think would make it OP: the value buff, not being dependent on enemy staying alive or both?

Both, at 5 points you’re back above healthgate in no time, you could just spam this against bosses or badass outlaws as you circle-strafe them and become nigh unkillable. The thing about this skill is that it stacks with Rend and Blood Rush, dash from enemy to enemy applying bleed and stacking health regen, it’s an integral skill to melee Athena’s mobbing potential, it’s not only a buff to the skill but completely changes the way it works and synergises with her two most important melee skills. Just my $0.02 but I’ve played melee Athena since release and played her long after the roid nerf, which many felt made her useless, through to level 70 in UVHM, such a change would change the way she is played entirely, I think it’s too drastic and unnecessary.
