Completed HW 1 Remastered

It requires a sharp eye, unfortunately the colors are too dim, probably will be solved in the first patch.

I usually have a sharp eye  and my Monitor isn’t some cheap TN Panel one either ^^ I really don’t see ANY dustclouds at all  and since I wanna finish both Campaigns before doing any MP (Vs. AI or otherwise) I guess I am stuck until the first patch ships :stuck_out_tongue:

Hello, i’ll dont finish the first game yet, just finished some minutes ago tenhauser’s gate. the essence of the game it’s still there, of course than the devs used the engine of Hw2 as a base and certainly some features are different. but that dont take away the fun i’ll have replaying the game.

Well to be frankly i’ll was expecting the return of the YES song in the credits. it’s infortunate because of license troubles didn’t was included, maybe latter or maybe GBX/BBI can use some songs of Jean Michel Jarre for it. some of the songs in oxigene albums fits well with homeworld in my personal opinion.

Try to look at the small dots in sensor mode. It helped looking edge on and to move the camera around to get a sense of there those dots are… . The background is so bright.
There is a track that almost goes directly to the station from the mother ship but it ramps up slowly (so be sure to do so). It goes thought he middle where there are a few mines. and it ends a bit high over your target but you can then move down at the very end.
I never went for the resources, so can’t help there. I did capture the cruiser and was surprised that it made it back to the mother ship (again showing how straight that one channel is.)
There is another that goes down and to the left but there is a bit of a gap (doable but I did not go there in the end)

I hope that helps a bit

Thanks for the explanation  I will definitly try to follow your instructions and maybe I will actually manage to find the dust clouds with your guidance ^^.

I will report back when I have tried it out.

Edit: I think I managed to find them with your description, so thanks again for your reply ! But I will nonetheless wait for the first patch to ship before I continue with the campaign ^^.

I am actually stuck on the same mission and will wait for a patch before continuing. I was enjoying the campaign so far even though it seemed a bit too easy. All the obvious bugs that have been discussed to death do impact on the quality of gameplay experience so I’ll just wait. HW2 however is spectacular in all respects.

There’s honestly not much to flame about.

It’s true Strike formations are completely 100% utterly broken as in they don’t work at all – but outside of that, it’s not all that different.

Everything that’s wrong with it is just small bug fixes, if they fix the formations and fix the corvette and support frigates the n the remaster becomes superior.

Flame over 3 bugs? [Strike formations being the biggest one.]

I beat HW classic again before I even played the remaster – the remaster is super dope outside of the few problems listed above – which I’m sure will get fixed in patches, first one is on it’s way.

I do wish however that someone at gearbox would verbally address the strike formation issue… I’m currently putting it on hold until that’s fixed and if it’s never fixed then they are thieves.

It doesn’t require a sharp eye at all, it’s super obvious – no patches necessary.

YOU CAN ONLY RESOURCE COLLECT WITH A CARRIER ON SUPER NOVA. You have to dock your resourcers and fly the carrier to the asteroid clusters. Bring repair corvettes too, and you can repair the carrier once at the asteroids. Once you make it to the cluster, there is no radiation damage [just park as close as you can to some of the rocks first.]

If you can’t find the ā€œShielding particlesā€ you just need to bring up the sensor view, there are little white dots littering the entire map, if you send your carrier/capital ships through these dots they’ll take minimal damage and you can repair them anytime you’re firmly inside a safe spot. You’ll know you are when they stop taking damage.

There is no patch that’s gonna fix this because there is nothing broken here.

In the original the dots are easier to see. It has been mentioned that these dots are virtually invisible on higher resolutions even in sensor view. The clouds that surround these dots also blend with the background and take an effort to see. They need to be made just a little bit more recognisable.
Btw, the similar mission in HW2 where you have to navigate through clouds to avoid detection is also made a little difficult due to low visibility of the said clouds.

Yup, I’ve had both of these exact same problems. Additionally, dust clouds in HW2 are also marked by a circular boundary in the sensors manager but in the remastered version of the Gehenna mission, the boundaries blend in too much with the background that you can barely see it.

Granted it wasn’t as troubling as Super nova remastered since you don’t take damage and have 25 seconds to move ships back into cover.
Nonetheless, there is no disputing that HW1 classic and HW2 classic had both of the dust particles/clouds more noticable.

It was even mentioned in the support channel, so yes, it is something that is currently being adressed by the team since some people really DON’T see the clouds/dots even in sensor mode, others find them quite easily, so it seems to be a problem that is not affecting everyone and apperently you are one of the lucky ones that weren’t, doesn’t mean others don’t have problems with it.
