Mmm…not sure what you’re trying to get at? Animations styles are not the same.
That being said, pretty sure that’s Del Tha Funky Homosapien that raps in the song for Battleborn and he was the original Russel in the first Gorillaz album.
my point is: gorillaz fits quite well the prologue
To be honest: I LOVE Battleborn because their graphics & style resemble Gorillaz so much! 
Its like they mixed the Borderlands style with the colorfull toony style of the Gorillaz´s world!
Also: The four virtual bandmembers would be amazing Vaulthunters too
