This, but on Xbox 1, Wired

I have found that turning the xbox off and unplugging, will occasionally allow me to play 8 to 12 minutes CoOp before slowly starting to act as before

You know, now that you mention it it did seem to get worse the longer the session went on. You’re on to something there.

Yea. I connect to a friends game, and he’s always fine. But whenever i connect to him, or other friends, the connection can be brutally unplayable. Walking off cliffs because of lag. losing up to 30 seconds of time in a lag spike that catches up all at once and usually ends with me downed.

This was my attempt to play coop earlier today… This is ridiculous.

just curious, have you had these issues before in other games? right now co-op is either unplayable via a user standpoint or it’s a worldwide issue, but what Gearbox does with borderlands is remove servers so the only person “hosting” is the person who created the game instance everyone loads into.

makes for p2p systems that functionally survive forever without needing server upkeep but it also relies entirely on having a “good” connection speed. I’m curious who is affected and who is not because as the co-op seems to be used quite a bit I don’t think it’s necessarily something everyone is suffering with

I have when i first got my internet installed. But my ISP fixed the problem a long time ago. I called them again today just to re-check. and I tried playing other games today. Black Ops 4, and Star Wars Battlefront 2 - and in both those games I had zero latency problems. Zero stuttering.

hmmm, ok. the reason I ask is because I currently don’t have great internet so I’ve attributed these things happening to being a result of that. chicken and egg, yeah? funky - glad it isn’t just me then

Found an odd solution for PC. Verify the game files on Epic.

It’s not a permanent fix, but it did give me a couple hours of good performance. Not great, but decent enough to be playable.

Seems like something is leaking in the game, to where it messes up how it talks to the net code.

i also got a bad internet, but BL2 is manageable, how come BL3 is not. so much lag playing online.

Annnd now the “verify files” trick no longer does anything.
Became completely unplayable earlier on the FINAL BOSS of the game… This is BS.

Same problem here, does anyone have a solution for it?

First few weeks is okayish, then it got worst with lag. I have same internet and everything else’s works fine.

Can’t drive straight. Shooting & opening box has 1/2 sec delay. Amara Melee unplayable as non host. Half of melee do not connect and amaimation is skipped, Buddha palm became weapon thrust.

And I play only 2 player games…

It cannot be epic problem as fortnite is the biggest game in the world and allow 100 players in some map, butter smooth.

wow thats bad.

Had the same earlier but its pretty much “fixed” now or at least I dont notice it anymore. Is this still an issue? I noticed that your post is roughly a week old

Still an issue. Some groups I get in are fine, and some are rubberbanding so bad it’s unplayable.

This is still happening to me, and consistantly has been since launch. It’s so frustrating. A lot of replayability is gone for me if this is how coop will always be.

Glad I didnt buy the season pass because dlc is useless for me until this issue is resolved. I play this game mostly with friends. I opened a ticket with GB, one of the solutions they gave helps a little but it’s only temporary and doesnt help every time.

Testing my internet connection always yields a good connection at a decent speed, but I am constantly disconnecting from a host if I’m not hardcore rubberbanding. When I host, voice chat is gets lagged up and then plays all at once after a few minutes so communication is out the window. This definitely is the worst lag I’ve had in any game. Cant even change or equip/unequip weapons sometimes.

Cant really tell how widespread the problem is but theres been no change and no recognition of the issue.

If your internet connection were failing, you’d expect to see lag in other peer-to-peer games as well as client-server games.

My DSL was failing after a year of reliable service. A technician switched my service to a new pair of wires at the telephone pole. My landline phone has much less noise and my DSL is excellent again.

If Borderlands2 runs well for you, but Borderlands3 is laggy, we can blame Gearbox/2K.

this ^ blame gearbox. BL2 run smoothly on coop for me, BL3 i have difficulty connecting and when i do i looks like katagawa teleporting here and there.

I wonder if DRM is causing lag in BL3. Or if all recent online play is sending data to Gearbox in an early access environment. The game could drown in meeting the demands of UDP creation. Perhaps BL2 is no longer spying on us…and therefore runs unencumbered online.

Actually… we really can’t & here’s why:
For the past week I’ve reset my game to be public/open & I’ve run the entire range from boss fights to MM3 Heck Hole runs with 3 & 4 player teams. Most players stick around for anywhere from 30 minutes to a couple of hours. I’ve asked several times about lag in chat & no one is complaining.

Now I do have a strong & reliable wired internet connection that runs around 80 d/l and 7 u/l and my Ryzen CPU pretty much coasts running BL3.

Having said that I do think Gearbox can provide a lot more in co-op feedback, net / connection quality so we as players can even set our desired quality rating & if that means you don’t find a match well that’s prolly better than the lag I’ve seen posted.

I don’t have problems in other games, but I get considerable lag in some BL3 groups.
