I rerolled after my post and haven’t had an issue since, only change made was the modifiers which now do not include the drones.

Crashes on the Xbox One X have been a known issue for a long time.

My general impression was that past updates had done some things to reduce those crashes, but they were still an occasional issue.

Split-screen crashing is also a well-known problem, about which GBX has done exactly squat.

So yeah, your long-standing problems are real.

The update of 2 days ago has made performance issues much worse for players across all console types, so I fell confident in saying this isn’t a manifestation of a Day-1 bug getting worse.

Thanks for the update. Further evidence that drones are a major source of the problem.

My fiancé and I played some split screen on M5 with no issues last night (no drone modifiers).

Before that I uninstalled a couple games I hadn’t played in a while and cleared my system’s cache.

I don’t know if either of those steps helped, but I think they can’t hurt.

Its not only drones its also pool party.

Yup it’s the drones. Game runs fine since I avoided any modifier with drones. I’d suggest aso avoiding healing avenger. The little hearts are basically healing drones.

Can’t confirm. Pool party is fine for me.

I play on PC in mayhem 1 with lootsplosion.

I have had crashes while fighting Ultraviolet about half of the time I fight him. Usually it is right as I down him.

I think it may be a zone stability coding issue.

The whole game has stability/optimization issues.

I had no issues with Healy Avenger nor with Pool Party; had both active at once in split-screen and the game worked fine for me yesterday.

I posted above about drones but it would probably be more precise to say those are a major but not the sole contributor.

We also know that the game can crash due to visual effect overloads; Healy Avenger or pool party may contribute to this, but I suspect on its own it is OK.

At this point I think it’s safe to say Villa Ultraviolet might have some issues of its own; but reports seem mixed. Many (not all) are reporting being able to run that map without any serious problems.

I’ve been sending in tickets on this as well.

Two game-freezes that lead to crashes, both on the early parts of Maliwan Takedown.

First one, M7. Don’t remember all of the modifiers, but I know I had Lootsplosion and Laser Fare, might have had Pool Party as well. Online party of 3.

Second time, M6, with Lootsplosion, High Voltage, Healy Avenger, Laser Fare. Splitscreen.

Haven’t crashed a single time today and did countless runs of the villa.

Modifiers:
More than okay boomer
Shock infused
Pool party
Holy crit.

Same here. The game is completely unplayable now since the latest update. I can’t even play to the end of the 2nd gate in the villa dlc without getting booted out of the game to the console menu. This is complete BS!! Now I don’t have any hopes left in playing AND farming this event since we all know GB isn’t known for their quick solutions regarding to these kind of problems. I’m on ps4.

Drones hey… I disabled the event purely because I assumed it broken as a whole and now this thread sheds light - Mayhem is affecting the Villa.

I’ll do some testing (I should be playing the game but am now hunting sources to performance issues, why am I doing this?.. I dunno)

Just had a crash a few minutes ago on Mayhem 5 with Drone Ranger but the game didn’t actually crash until I used the Firecracker on Joey’s Planet in the Revenge of the Cartels event. I’m going to switch out the Firecracker for The Lob and see if it makes a difference. Edit: Just tried again and got another crash- definitely seems like its the drones. Let’s see what another Mayhem level is like…

Yea, there’s a problem with drones. Unfortunately the drone, SNTL, is a major part of my Zane build. I can’t play Amara because of all of the crashes for her. Now I’m crashing with Zane because of the drone. My game just crashed again.

I guess I’ll have to learn how to play Fl4k now since it’s my only other level 57 character.

I play Fl4ck since day 1 as my main character and for me the game is just as unplayable. It has to do something with that last update that GB needs to fix and fix asap!!!

Well that’s not good. I came very close to uninstalling the game yesterday. This morning I decided to give it another try with Zane. I was able to play for about an hour before crashing.

And I also forgot to mention that I keep seeing comments from people about the Xbox One X overheating and that’s what causing the shutdown. I’m not sure about all the other cases but my Xbox has never gotten “hot” since I bought it. It doesn’t get hot with any of the games I play, and not BL3 either.

My Xbox One S and Xbox 360 from a million years ago were both a different story.

I hope GB and 2K aren’t chasing something that isn’t real.

I am also playing on an Xbox One X. It’s on an open desktop so even if the console was overheating there is more than enough airflow to keep it from reaching shutdown level. I still get hard crashes when joining other people’s games. And, no other game I have played has this issue. Overheating is the “try unplugging your router” response to console problems and I’m pretty frustrated it’s still being doled out for such a widespread problem.

Yea, it’s not an overheating issue. I’m also on Xbox One X and my console sits in open space on my desktop. It never gets hot.
