I’m not sure that I follow you. Are you just saying that it’s not SNTL that’s causing the crashes? It doesn’t crash for me all the time but it happens often enough that I stopped playing Zane.

I’m now playing Fl4k after both Amara and Zane kept crashing. Fl4k is also getting crashes. The game’s just a mess.

Not just SNTL, agreed things are just a mess right now. (playing other games now till this is all worked out,… they did so good with patches for a while until this,…)

I was able to play as Drone/Barrier Zane, M6 Takedown w/Cartel event active. No issues.

I re-rolled away from Drone modifiers and pool party.

It’s not clear to me that Zane’s drone can be clearly identified as a problem given that other characters are experiencing crashes too.

It could be SNTL if there are other drones out as well. Two players using OPQ’s both getting drones deployed from that, plus SNTL… That seems to be what’s happening anyway - more stuff spamming more vfx and afx in general seems to raise the risk of a crash. So for SNTL it may depend on which augments you have running and what else is happening in game?

I feel like this might need some clarification for “safety’s sake”. The way local and cloud saves seem to be working on the Xbox specifically for Borderlands 3, your local save is not always immediately transferred to the cloud. There seems to be a delay. Meaning very recent things may potentially be lost. It is best to log your account out before performing a deletion of your local save and wait a few minutes to ensure it is pushed to the cloud.

I have yet to experience any of the issues reported here using Zane with SNTNL. Xbox One X. (That doesn’t mean I don’t believe this is happening, I do.) I post this only to support it might not be Zane’s drone and may entirely be modifiers and/or other issues. (And in no way means I might not get hit with it as soon as I log in. It can happen.)

It may be “unrelated” but we (myself and several I game with) have had problems for a couple of months with using the Redistributor and/or the Electric Banjo creating what seems to be an “audio overload” problem where sound can cut out, or entirely disappear during a gaming session. Sometimes traveling to a new zone fixes it, but sometimes you have to do a hard restart and clear your local cache to rectify the problem.

I should clarify that I also don’t doubt that people are experiencing crashes while playing as Zane; I just haven’t noticed things being any worse with him than with other characters.

So for the suspicion that SNTNL is bugged and contributing to crashes I’d say “could be, but can’t tell for sure” at this point.

I’ve been running Zane drone barrier and haven’t had issues with the right Mayhem modifiers. Until tonight.

I almost threw my controller through my TV tonight. I was trying to sort through loot in devil’s razor, anointed kept spawning in before I could finish. After 3 deaths I finally got a chance to look at the goodies when the game froze and crashed to the desktop.

Think I’m done for a little while.

When I mentioned Zane’s SNTL, it was just a suspicion that it might be contributing to the crashes because of the other issues with the mayhem modifier drones. I never said that it absolutely was causing them. It’s not going to be just one thing. It’s a combination of things that build up and then crashes. I’ve had far more crashes on Amara than Zane but I’ve also had crashes on Fl4k.

j_r_hicks87 and I were both trying to err on the side of caution. I don’t think either of us were trying to “call anyone out”.

It has been my not so infrequent experience on the forums where people point out “perceived” issues, that people will “helpfully” drop in on the thread and proceed to tell those individuals reporting problems that they are full of poo.

I think both of us were just trying to ensure we didn’t come off as telling people they were wrong about their issues, just that we ourselves, our limited experiences didn’t substantiate the suspicion. I think we are both trying to acknowledge that even if we haven’t experienced that, in no way do we say that others are not.

I’ve been able to play Zane for hours tonight without any issues but I’ve also avoided Pandora.

Smart. Most of my crashes since last patch have been in devil’s razor. I can’t wait until the loot event moves to promethia next week.

In addition to the audio distortion at the Twin Gods, when in co-op (online or split-screen), just had a freeze then crash. Not sure if it’s related to Amara+Nimbus or Lootsplosion+Chain Gang. But this is getting really annoying, knowing that I have to rush to pick up every legendary I see now, in case the game crashes again.

Maybe I should wait for the next planet. Maybe the shotguns and artifacts location won’t be a bug-fest of misery.

Most of mine have been in Konrad’s Hold. It kind of sucks not to go to Pandora because I want upgraded version of a lot of weapons but I’ve also been finding that most of them don’t scale well for the upper mayhem levels anyway.

It appears most of the issues revolve around there being to much going on at once and the anointed mobs are not helping that.

Next week will hopefully be better, but the co-op event will be over then.

Oh wait … Malliwan enemies don’t drop nearly as much loot. This is going to be another grind. sigh

On the plus side it looks like GBX knows about the stability issues given what Noelle said in today’s hotfix notes.

Haven’t played yet today, so can’t comment on how Loot the Universe on Promethea is working.

It isn’t just the drone modifiers. I have never run healing drones. In fact, I was running buddy system without any lag or crashing. I only switched away because the drones were clipping in the walls. The crashing started when I switched to chain gang.

So many of these modifiers are so problematic, they should probably just eliminate them all.

I’m pretty sure it’s any tether effect (like chain gang, Rectifier shield) that can branch to multiple targets and is sustained for some time. In a dense mob area, that rapidly becomes a bunch more audio and visual fx stacked on an already busy scene.

Borderlands 3 crashed on XBox One 3 times yesterday while in split screen (one of the crashes we were just going around Sanctuary).

Also crashed once while in single player mode a few days back. Really terrible to occur at this point, since the game has been out for a while.

Hope a fix can be prioritized. Enjoying the game but these crashes totally spoil the moments.
