Yeah Iron Bear is pretty good right now. I put a rocketeer build together to test how strong it is without doing anything. He is killing everything while I just chill with a fully charged shield in dakka.
The cooldown is under 45 seconds with guardian ranks. And I’m making sure to restart my game to avoid the super cooldown bug when I respec.

It is the quest reward from The Childhood’s End sidequest. It boosts your CDR while the shield is depleted.
And low level so it’s always down I’m guessing?
Is it more significant than kills after exiting iron bear?
That cooldown is correct if you have topped off. With topped off alone a full IB cooldown is 40 seconds. 120/(1+2)=40
I seriously forgot how good guardian perks made moze. I can finally have my band of sitorak build again its my favourite build.
What’s the build? I’d been thinking about running this or The Ward on Moze for some extra damage since my shield is almost always depleted anyway with m4 being so chaotic

I assume it has +75% Health after exiting IB if not Nova when entering and exiting.
Without Topped off it takes a lot of work to get IB CD under 25 seconds.

I’ve got the 20% IB spawn for this and the explosions are GODDAMN F*CKING BEAUTIFUL (as torgue would say). Tho, I think that anointment either has a limited number of grenades it fires or something because it seems to stop after several seconds, even tho IB is receiving dmg.
How do you kill anointed militants in SS by the way? IB is TERRIBLE with them and moze isnt much better on foot.

I heard that annointment were bugged, not tested it myself though. Supposedly it only proc once per IB use and you need to re-equip it inbetween each time.

Honestly, if it kept firing I’d be fine with that, even if they put some kind of cool down on it.

20% seem way to high for multiple procs agreed. If they changed it to 6% like MoD and no cooldown perhaps that would be something?

There is no good way to take down anointed militants…
I mostly save IB for badass/armored enemies. I fight trash mobs on foot with a damage anointed Q-System and anointed enemies with an incendiary weapon – I’m using a Faisor right now, but I’m still exploring my options. The Linoage is great, but like all COV weapons, it doesn’t synergize well with the Blaster Master; the Companion can also be good if you manage to get consistent headshots.
Actually if you think about it, the text in that anointment makes no sense. If IB takes more than 5 bullets, there’s a huge chance on will spawn. It should just say “While taking damage, IB will spawn a grenade every 6 seconds” or something.

I have one with +35% max health, or I use one without the anointment that has +50% max health anointed with heal 5% after exit.
The idea behind it is because it’s such a small capacity shield with a really low delay and fast recharge, a second or 2 after being hit you have your shield full charged, taking advantage of topped off.
You’re also strong outside of iron bear because health gate shots won’t kill you in one hit. As a bonus when your shields down you gain 23% bonus damage from the shield.
Click click I keep my mag at 1/4 to 1/3 for 20 to 25 percent bonus damage all the time. I okayed around with vladof ingenuity to be the counter weight to having my shield depleted, but click click is just better as I always have it.
I’ve beat slaughter shaft multiple times with it now. Class mod is of course blast master, though mind sweeper could be subbed if you take more Vampyr points. Just hop in iron bear every 30s to take out 2 or 3 tough enemies and one shot trash mobs.
Highly recommend getting a band of sitorak.

I have have one with Nova on entering & exiting IB. I got it right before I started farming before my Mendel’s Meds.
My favorite shield on IB is Mendel for the massive health boost combined with health regen while shield is full. I run one with 20% Cooldown after action skill with Raging Bear. The other one I have is with the 75% Health boost that I couldnt make use of when Guardian ranks were broken.
is it worth maybe dropping 1 point from stainless steele and adding it to security bear? That’s a lot of shield when initially mobbing. I know it doesnt help auto bear, but seems to help me in a pinch
Did you get an anointed mendels? Farm it by constantly reseting your tvhm or are you on pc and able to do some sort of magic?
I got about 25 different sitorak shields during the rare spawn event and only kept 2 because of the bank limit. Now I have to farm them again and it’s awful right now haha.
The Nova one seems pretty cool, I’m ideally looking for either the +50% health with the 75/75 anoint, or +35% health brimming with the 75/75… Or I’m not sure, I forget what all they can have on them.
A lot of people will tell you it is, but I hate security bear.
Reasons are because it takes 5 seconds to initially charge, which you’re immune during anyway, Vampyr heals your armor and not your shield, iron bear does totally fine without the shield, the shield breaks within seconds anyway while you’re hopping out of iron bear or within 4 seconds of activating, stainless steel boosts damage and total fuel so the cooldown will be slightly lower.
I want to like security bear but it’s useless in M4 I find. Plus it clutters your vision a little. I’ll admit it’s nice those times it stays up and you get out of Iron Bear so it can block projectiles for 1 second before breaking.

The PC magic would be creating copies of your save file before quest turn in and just repeatedly complete the quest until you have it. Haven’t done this myself, yet, to see how long it would take.
Yeah I don’t think it’s possible on console. There’s no way I’m going to keep doing the intro missions and making it to athenas just to farm that.
