[DDD] Gaige's skills for you!

From what I understand after consulting Top Gear for Gaige!, almost all shield properties transfer to Deathtrap with BSS. One exception seems to be the Bee shield. Apparently, the AMP damage boost conferred to Gaige does not also apply to Deathtrap. I assume this is due to Deathtrap’s attacks being strictly melee-based. However, any elemental resistance would transfer to Deathtrap.

Very belated response to this, which I apologise for, but since I’m using Shock Storm on my Jakobs allegiance, I do feel like weighting in a bit.

Yes, I do agree it needs more range, but how it is currently it is not bad, Bandits, wildlife and everything who work in packs still gett the damage from it.

Yeah, I get your point. The question is not if it’s useful. The question is “Is this more useful than some other skill where I could put those 5 points ?”

The answer remains no, even after the buff.

Oh ok. Fair enough.

This is crazy helpful! Just picked up Gaige on Friday so needed some help with whats what. A very different style is needed. I kept forgetting about the Anarchy Stacks and reloading… Now I have discord, so at least the loss is minmized

WDT is getting a boost:

Took my level 72 Gaige through Caustic Caverns last night, but found it a bit hard to determine any difference since it’s been a while since I last played her. It would be interesting if someone can run a comparison with one of the earlier videos.

She still screams way too much though…

If someone can either test Wires Don’t Talk (post-hotfix) or can positively confirm the change, just to verify that Electrocute damage is now being appropriately applied, I will update the OP accordingly to reflect the change.

I don’t play Gaige much, but I was having a good run @ 250 stacks of Anarchy with WDT at 10/5 (Cat COM) and a Ruslter’s Twister with a Jakob’s grip on OP 8 against non-slagged enemies. I’d say they fixed it, but I’ll know more after my friend gets back home off of the road and can take her out again.

Ok, cool. Let me know once you hear back from your friend and I will update the OP accordingly. Thanks!

It won’t be until next week because hotel WiFi sucks.

Updates on that ?

Personally, I have noticed a difference, but I can’t say if the numbers align alright

I haven’t played Gaige in a few weeks, so no. She did seem very effective though, so I still say WDT is worth putting points into.

Yeah, even when it was bugged it was worth it, but since the fix I noticed she’s even MORE effective.

Come to think of it, I could run those tests myself

I’ll be back with the results

I’m not sure what would have to be done to test it, but my Interspersed Outburst Gaige uses 5/5 WDT plus leg. Catalyst. Just finishing off main story and DLCs with her, and I don’t even bother matching elements half the time: a shock Conference Call, plasma caster, or Storm, combined with EB etc., the IO, means most enemies don’t stand a chance. About the only thing I do switch for is armoured but even then, if it’s a low-level armoured enemy, I’ll probably just blast it out. Oh, and those shock witch doctors in Hammerlock - gotta DPUH those guys!

Strip down, unspec in almost everything
shock the dummy with Shock and Awe
Record the DoT damage
Put points into WDT
Repeat
Check if numbers are different

OK, might actually be able to do that tonight. Will report back if I can!

Data, as per @Chuck80, aiming for centre mass (although that shouldn’t make any difference?)

Edit: damage from initial nova and subsequent ticks. I managed to catch most of them, but I missed one or two along the way.

We know the initial damage was increased, that was the case before the patch, it’s the DoT that was supposed to be increased but wasn’t.

Though from the numbers We see, it seems to work now

Is it known how the DoT is actually calculated? There’s obviously a RNG component to it to create the “flicker” effect on the electrocute numbers, but what is it based off? A fixed percentage of the initial shock damage causing the DoT with some random multiplier?

The final number in the data above (where I was able to capture it) looks like a fixed percentage of the initial shock nova and, iirc, there is a weaker secondary nova at the end of the timer on this particular effect.
