So I was going through some old videos of Battleborn and I noticed a couple of things; she was actually really good!
Burst dash animation looked A LOT better and the hit box on it wasn’t so small, the reach was good too and it was 12 seconds.
Holotwin was 18 seconds and her level 2 was 100% damage and 75% health.
Thrown fans hit box wasn’t as strict as it is now.
I can understand why they brought down her level 2 numbers down but the cool downs seemed to be in a perfect spot and her brust dash looked REALLY good. Now, in its current state is just wonky.
@JoeKGBX Have you guys ever considered on returning the animation and hitbox on burst dash back? And what made you guys change it?

Hate her dash and her melee. Also, To me it feels like she should’ve had an entire new animation when they buffed her attack speed

Have you seen the video? If so, what are your thoughts on the old dash?
Looks better to me, but I’m not sure if it “feels better.” Just looking at it makes me wanna say it’s better though. Wonder what made them change it

Me too, hopefully @JoeKGBX can explain and if there is any chance it can be reverted because burst dash in its current state is just not as effective as it could be.

Wow is this vídeo speeded up? Dende feels faster. Now i see why she has such a short meele range!
She was faster stronger and her burst dash didnt took that long to be prepared to attack, also hollowtiwn cd was so short you could use it to engage or escape and position to get your ult.
I need that deande back, i wont lie she needed to be toned down but right now she is so hard to use…

Well, she is an “advanced” character so she is pretty hard to use but once you understand her and get used to her moves, she’s great. I do admit that the burst dash in the video looks more fluid and faster.

She became hard to use in my opinion because:
Her movement speed is slow
Her meele range is short
Her ranged arcs (im rly accurated with it tho)
Lack of cc
Short time of element of surprise
Long cd of hollowtiwn (the clone sometimes wont even hunt ppl and taunt or decide to target the sentry for no reason)
Burst dash takes miliseconds to prepare
Ult takes time to get ready and dmg gets devided btw targets
Before:
Her attack speed was slower
Movment speed was slower
Transition btw ranged and meele was slower
Lvl 3 had a hard cc, you would sacrifice life steal or ranged dmg to keep your targets in the air, it was harder to land because her short range and the need of a last accurated hit (quick meele would push you back)

lack of CC? maybe she doesn’t have all the fancy whats-its like Galilea but she has slows for days if you level her up enough.
and also the stun on the ult, though the wind up can be a bit cumbersome at times. she also has wound, but thats more situational than the rest of the CC’s

Oky first she is an assasin dont forget that. Her slow comes at lvl 5 when every other assasin get better sustain or a dmg buff. Rath gets slow lvl 1, phoebe lvl 2, melka lvl 1, el dragón lvl 1(but dosent worth it).
Her ultimate stuns but if you play deande you will notice how she gets stationary in the start, middle and the end of the skill. I have killed deande many times and screwed her ult jumping in it to split dmg.
Her wound animation(the uppercut) drops your dps and the last hit is lineal and hard to land. Caldarius, melka, attikus and isic can wound easier without lose sustain.
Ppl keep saying, deande is Jack of all trades máster of nothing, but she used to be máster of ambush and lock players or atleast it was like fireworks when she engaged someone so you knew you could help.
Now she is a middle liner, throwing fans and using hollowtiwn like walking bombs. Atleast thats how i see decent deandes use her (3/0 kill death), if they try to engage and use element of surprise they 90% of the time die because they lose their escape skill (and she is slow). Rath is fast + hélix when shield down +30% speed for 6 sec while deande gets 10% speed for 5 seconds instead of slow or in hollowtiwn +30% for 5 sec instead of +15% dash dmg.
I have played deande and tested diff builds and gear but she cant stay in lane long enough or secure a kill unless someone rly stupid dont see you charge your ult and stay in range. ( Boots of the brute helped deande before they get nerfed)

There’s different ways to play her actually. You named only one… Which is a good way to kill people that are over extending. Get attack speed gear and sprint gear, holotwin out to run up and burst them down with your attack speed from behind to punish over extending or just use it to help fight for middle for that quick 2 v 1.
The second build is a burst damage build. Spec with shield and skill damage gear. Helix to calculated risk at Lv 4, Lv 5 silent strike & extra burst damage at Lv 6. You can literally kill anyone within 2 seconds. If you have a Reyna on your team, 1 hit kill on priority target. If fighting a tank, you can burst dash to Ult and that should finish them. If you wanna go even further, pick the culling for the extra 23% damage for all hits and pick extended reach for burst dash, with that you can hit/kill multiple people with 1 dash… It’s pretty cool. Only thing that sucks is her movement speed but hopefully your teammates will have your back.

Forgot to mention to never attack a target with shield. With enough skill and shield and element of surprise is 966 dmg lvl10, crit is 1449.
Also i tested the max dmg with vow of vengance, oath of sustain and vampiric vest. Or max att speed vov, vow of zealous fury and bolas target, shield + llc guantlet with shield and bolas target.
It would be awesome if dash burst wasnt so wonky, i uploaded a vídeo in general about meele, i tested dash burst distance but i didnt show how línea is, how easy you can miss in a moving target. The distance is the same of phoebe alt fire, lvl 5 she gets a wider range.
Dont forget if you manage to kill someone you need to walk out of there alive… They have friends too :v

Which is why its always hard to make the decision to initiate with decoy or use decoy as an escape but I personally like to use it as an escape more.

I main Deande, sitting at around 150 missions/matches. She has a slow at level 6 with ire’s echo too, plus even more with gear if you were lucky enough to get some boots of the brute and really want to make sure those enemies stay put.
yes those other characters might have slow earlier, but you can get away from them relatively easily compared to most other characters. Any one else might be forced to fight while you continue on your way.
With her ult yes you are stationary for a bit. Thats why you never use it when 1v2+. you just get stunned out of it or killed before it goes off. you must position yourself carefully by waiting for someone to come around the corner with it up, locking down multiple enemies for your team mates, or just plain out destroying noobs who don’t know if they want to run or not.
and isn’t wound reduced healing, not DPS? I very well could be wrong on that though.
huh. that seems really low. Look I am by no means trying to say im the best deande player ever, because I know I’m probably not, but I usually find myself at about 10 and 1 or something like that. And for the most part I try to focus on clearing waves. probably a big part of it is that I usually have a premade team behind me.

If yoused hollowtiwn to escape you miss a beautiful +25% dmg that last only 3 seconds. If you use it to engage and use calculated risk your target is screwed or you are screwed or both are screwed.
High risk not so high reward unless you find someone wondering alone, only noobs do that and other assasin also they have a counter for deande like aoe, higher dmg, faster attack/movement speed. She only can “run”.

Test her uppercut you will hit slower, your over all dmg falls for 1.5s wounding.
Everytime i find a deande i see her k/D ratio and is not good…
Boots of the brute with dragón clap destroy deande, rath range and 360° spin slows deande an can hunt her down, attikus can mark her with the extra dmg buff, phoebe can mark her or slow her.
Honesty she is the assasin with the weakest ult. Everyone else have an aoe ult, or continual dmg exept for tanks.

look im not going to argue against those points because they are spot on (and el dragon destroys everyone).
About 90% of the time, playing Deande requires a high level of decision making and mental involvement. You have to chose your fights and know where to position yourself at the right times. Yes everyone else’s ults can vastly overpower you in a shorter amount of time, but a good deande player will know that and plan acordingly. They will predict the likelihood of how an enemy is to attack and either run away and fight something else, call to the team for help, or find a different angle or way to rek that overconfident, unsuspecting little scrublet, who thinks to himself “oh great a sh!ty Deande offering itself up as a free kill grinder”.
Maybe thats why I like her so much. She’s hard to play but very rewarding. And I do love a challenge.
