Thank you for your post and clarification. I did realize some of the “rules” of their helix placements but I didn’t notice that one.
If level 2 and 5 can’t be swapped, then they could make the slow on “The Element of Surprise” by default (similar to Shayne) and change the Silent Strike Helix to something else.
If not, then it still shouldn’t be that big of a deal if the other changes were made.
He was talking about Ghalt’s slug rounds were over-powered and how they could return to him without breaking balance. It was my fault for that off-topic.

Everyone has a slow at lvl 1
24 of 28 have CC by lvl 2 except Deande. All of the assassins have slows by lvl 1 except for Phoebe who gets hers at lvl 2. So it makes sense.

I agree with the OP. If you try to engage an enemy you will get like 2 hits and sprint it off cause Deande will not catch you. Also her throwing fans, yeah,you have to be really accurate.
Also Rath has great movement/sprint speed and the reason why phoebe doesn’t have the same amount of sprint speed is because she has true strike. And deande? Well you can’t chase enemies and then use your fans which will be about 60+ dmg and assuming that the enemy is far away you won’t hit the double fans

When she had her knock up i was oky with her speed and need of accuracy to keep an enemy in range and in the air.
It was a good trade off, slow,l ow hp and high skill to juggle and be awear of their team.
My first time vs a deande i had no ■■■■■■■ idea of how to get her off me, then i saw a good player (montana) quick meele her all the match, it was funny how he would poke her away xD.

Also, I like the way Deande moves because she has like her back hunched very unique and only to find out that she looks like her back is broken cause she moves SLOW.
The first time i hated deande speed was in capture, i left rath with 64 hp and he just ran away, i couldnt catch him. He kept dodging my slow fans ( when the animation was slow) untill his shield charged and his ult cd rest…
I died and got so frustrated and mad at deande long cd, stupid reach, usless ult. All she had was her juggling, she is better but still room to improve.
Wow. If you stated nothing else, this would’ve been enough for me, personally. I keep talking about her and people who “accept” her (… whatever) act like there is truly nothing she needs to be a better character. Deande should be more fun and cool than she is, and right now that’s just her personality. This post is so sublime. I could not have worded it better. Not only does another assassin like Phoebe have higher movement speed than Deande, but Phoebe can also get 30% movement speed… out of a [TELEPORT] at level one. Deande doesn’t get Escape Plan until level 6. -_- wtf and no one I know would choose that over Burst brawler and Ire’s Echo. Why do they keep doing this to my girl? I see other people mentioning her teleporting in the prologue and I agree. She should be our cool “Badass” high spymistress but we got a harrassing opportunist that often falls short in comparison to other characters. She’s missing the cool factor for me personally. I wish they’d expound upon the Spymistress of the shadows aspect more to make her feel more intense, I suppose. She has a lot of potential and I have seen her be used in amazing way, but even really great players I know want her to be a bit more/better.

I totally agree that her movement speed is pathetic. Nothing like seeing Isic sprint past you.
Once again I’m dumbfounded by the changes Gearbox chooses to make while ignoring other glaring issues all together.
I guess if Deande’s weakness is mainly her movement speed, then you could probably use gear that boosts it up.

Hastening “Stinger” - Attack Damage/Movement Speed
Hastening “Hurricane” - Attack Speed/Movement Speed
The above options are very decent for Deande.
The issue isn’t whether or not there are ways to “deal” with her movement speed, but rather that it doesn’t make sense in many different ways.
As mentioned in the OP, even with gear that adds more movement/ sprint speed than the gear you stated (maximum movement/sprint outside of legendary gear), she is still slower than certain ranged characters without any buffs.
Well, she’s an assassin character. I don’t think she’s a brawler or skirmisher that is able to engage and keep damage/pressure on a target. She’s supposed to pick off targets by picking optimal positioning and chasing down low-health characters and bursting them down. I’ve played with a great Deande that has no issue bursting people down quickly and efficiently. A skilled Deande is utterly frightening.
If you can get away from a skilled Deande after she engages, then you’re either;
a) Lucky
or
b) Very resourceful.
but that’s just my opinion based only off of the very few skilled Deande players I have had the pleasure of playing with.
